Cookie is a 3-year old, 8-pound rat terrier; he’s a very affectionate boy. He wants to be by you. . .next to you. . .on you. . .all the time. At night, he loves to smush right up next to you. If you could unzip your stomach for him to crawl inside and sleep, he would. Cookie loves a good scritch and does not mind being told what a handsome boy he is. He will roll over onto his back as you walk by in hopes that you may be up for a little tummy rub. Cookie has his manners down. He is house-trained. He takes treats gently. He is not barky at all, and he would make a great apartment dog. His foster home has 6 dogs and 5 cats, and he gets along with everybody. He rides well in a car. If you have other dogs, he’ll get along with them and play with them, but he’d be equally happy to be an only dog and get all the attention for himself. Cookie’s foster home has a feral dog who is extremely afraid of everything and everyone, and he watches over with her, staying with her to make sure she feels protected and playing with her. It’s really very sweet to watch. When let outside, Cookie will run around the yard a little, but he’s not a particularly energetic dog and after a little running, he’ll find a good spot to plop down on the grass and sun himself. He likes chewy toys but doesn’t play with any other dog toys. Cookie would do equally well in a house or an apartment. However, he is shy when meeting new people and doesn’t like to be picked up, so no children. Cookie’s adoption fee is $275 and includes neuter, all shots & microchip. He is heartworm-negative and on heartworm medication.
