Story
Niko is truly the "best of both worlds"—a born lap dog with a lively interest in being active outdoors. This unique-looking 7-year-old is chock-full of an especially endearing personality. He is playful, loves car rides, tolerates baths well, and is cooperative when getting his harness on. In the home, Niko is generally low-maintenance. He is a gentleman indoors with perfect potty habits; he isn’t a particularly picky eater, can be trusted to roam free when alone, and loves a special spot to look out the window. Niko takes his role as a "watchdog" seriously and will alert you to noises at the door. While he can be vocal, he can respond well to a "quiet" command—even if he insists on getting the last word with some adorable, under-the-breath "woofs!" Niko's favorite activities are: being near you when you are seated, though not underfoot elsewhere; alternating brisk walks with exploratory sniffing; going to the dog park regularly; running around the house once a day hoping someone will chase him; and hiding parts of treats in couch cushions and his dog bed. While he occasionally enjoys a quick "zoomie" at the park, he spends most of his time patrolling the perimeter and investigating new scents, dogs, and people. He is comfortable around dogs of all sizes and respectful children aged 6 and older. However, Niko does feel it is necessary at times to correct dogs he perceives as having an unbalanced energy, or those who get too close to his person and the dogs he considers his friends. Because Niko can be sensitive to the busyness of parking lots, weekly landscapers, and frequent delivery trucks, he is looking for a detached home with his own yard. Niko is a smart, sweet, charming boy, a cuddle bug, and an outdoor enthusiast; but most of all, he is a loving little guy who needs a loving home. ##2280678##

Story
BREED-Rat Terrier Mix; SEX-Male; SIZE-Small; WEIGHT-13 lbs.; AGE-Approximately 4 Years; SPAY/NEUTER-Yes; HOUSETRAINED-Currently Uses Doggie Door; GOOD WITH KIDS-Yes; GOOD WITH DOGS-Yes; GOOD WITH CATS-Unknown; HISTORY-Rescued From A Local Shelter; ADOPTION FEE-$250   Gus is truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He has a calm, easygoing nature, and his idea of a perfect day is simply being close to his person—curled up in your lap or resting quietly by your side. Gus greets everyone with joy and genuine happiness, and his gentle presence has a way of making you feel instantly loved. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and warmly welcomes new fosters into his home with a kind and patient spirit. Gus does have an autoimmune condition that causes some crusting around his eyes and the sides of his mouth. This means he will need a little extra daily care, including gently cleaning his eyes and mouth with a warm cloth, as well as taking daily medication. The medication is quite manageable, with an average monthly cost of about $20. With this simple routine, Gus remains comfortable and continues to thrive. If you’re looking for a truly special dog—one who will return your love with endless affection and quiet companionship—Gus may be the perfect match for you.September 13, 2026, 2:57 pm

Story
MEET PRETZEL!! We saw the video about a bad situation. Two elderly special needs men were living in deployable conditions with a dog and many cats. The house was infested with cockroaches and fleas and filth! Even the water bowls were floating with cockroaches!! The sister of the brothers abandoned the house and left the door open and just set the animals free. Many cats were found killed in the yard. We saved the remaining animals that stayed in the house. We rescued Pretzel and a mama and three kittens. Pretzel is about 2 years old and weighs about 14lbs. Pretzel is a sweet dog that has never met a stranger!! He is super sweet and was even giving us kisses as we were bathing him!❤️ Pretzel is an affectionate little guy and he relishes in love and attention. Our vet said that Pretzel had been previously hit by a car and that it was completely healed so he does have a slight little wobble in his walk but he is in no pain and as happy as can be!! Pretzel loves cats and gets along with other dogs and kids. Want to give this great dog a second chance? 📩EMAIL: mini-mutts@outlook.com (fosters/adopters must reside in the Dallas Metroplex or surrounding areas only) ONE WEEK HOME TRIAL BEFORE ADOPTING! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Mini Mutts is a small breed, 501c3 rescue. Our mission is to love the abandoned, save the injured and rescue the mistreated! * NO LARGE DOGS * NO APARTMENTS * NO CHILDREN UNDER 5 YRS * NO CHAIN LINK FENCING

Story
Calling all experienced Jack Russell Terrier lovers! Are you looking for a true, full-of-energy JRT? Meet Akira — the playful adventure-seeker! Akira is a spirited 15 lb Jack Russell Terrier who is ready to bounce her way into the heart of the right person. True to her breed, she is incredibly smart, curious, energetic, and always looking for her next adventure. She loves exploring new places, car rides, toys, and dog puzzles. Thanks to her compact size, she’s the perfect companion to take almost anywhere. Akira is also very affectionate and deeply bonded to her people. She loves cuddling, being close to her humans, and being part of everyday life. She is used to having people around and should not be left alone for long periods of time. Like many intelligent working breeds, Akira needs plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Without proper outlets for her energy and curiosity, she can become destructive with household objects. Please note that Jack Russell Terriers are not the right fit for every household, especially for first-time dog adopters. Akira is a textbook JRT — she comes with all the amazing qualities people love about the breed, along with the strong personality and quirks that require experienced handling, structure, and leadership. Akira has territorial instincts typical of the breed and does not do well with strangers entering her home, so slow, structured introductions are essential. Her ideal home is an adult-only, calm household with limited visitors and confident owners who can provide clear boundaries and guidance. Akira is good with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, especially with larger, balanced dogs. However, she can be alpha and bossy when first meeting new dogs, so proper introductions and an experienced adopter who can confidently manage interactions are important. Akira is potty trained and comfortable using potty pads or a doggy door. She is crate trained, spayed, and up to date on all her shots. Akira would thrive in an active, structured home with people familiar with Jack Russell Terriers. In return, she will reward her family with loyalty, cuteness, endless entertainment, cuddles, and adventure. If you think Akira could be the perfect fit for your household and lifestyle, we would love for you to apply to adopt her! Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Akira the home she deserves! Story
Meet Sass! Sass is an 8.5-year-old Terrier mix weighing just 14 pounds. Don't let her name fool you—she's a sweet, gentle little dog with a loving heart. She can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, she quickly warms up and enjoys being part of the family. Sass does well with people of all ages, including children, and loves the comfort of a calm home. She's quiet and well-mannered indoors, making her an easy companion to relax with. On walks, Sass is a bit more vocal and likes to bark when she sees other dogs. She especially isn't a fan of large dogs and would be happiest in a home where she can avoid close interactions with them. Sass is not a good match for a home with cats.  With thoughtful management and an understanding adopter, she's a wonderful little companion who has so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who enjoys a peaceful home and just needs a little time to build trust, Sass could be the perfect match.   Learn more about our adoption process below and fill out an adoption application to take the first step in giving Sass the home she deserves! Story
Meet Papi - A happy go-lucky puppy Papi is a handsome Terrier/Chiweenie mix with a happy-go-lucky personality and enough puppy energy to keep everyone on their toes! This boy is always ready for his next adventure, whether that means playing with his furry friends, chasing toys, going for a car ride, or following his foster family around to see what they’re up to. Papi absolutely loves everyone and would love an active family who wants a fun, playful companion. He plays wonderfully with other dogs and has plenty of energy to spare—he can easily outrun and outfetch his playmates! He has not yet been tested around cats. He’s still a puppy and working on his housebreaking skills, but he reliably uses potty pads. Because Papi is still learning how to regulate his strength and enthusiasm, a family with children over five years old would be the best fit for him. Papi loves being involved in whatever is happening. Following his foster parents around the house and yard is one of his favorite activities, and he even likes to "help" in the garden. He’s still working on learning the difference between flowers and weeds, though! After a full day of puppy fun, Papi knows how to settle down. At night he’s ready to relax on the couch and enjoy some serious cuddle time. He prefers not to be alone and sleeps best right next to his people throughout the night. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate puppy who wants to be your sidekick for all of life's adventures—and your gardening assistant (with supervision!)—Papi might just be your guy! Papi is ready for a family who can keep up with his puppy energy, help him continue learning, and give him all the love and companionship he craves. ##2827309##
