He seems okay around respectful children (about 6+), and dogs of all sizes (he favors larger dogs), he is playful, and has guard dog tendencies of barking at people/noises near your windows and doors. As energetic as Niko sometimes can be, he is a deep sleeper who loves to snooze on a dog bed with comfy blankets or get under the covers on a people bed. Opalite is one of the pups from our Swifties group. She is a two year old, 9 lb Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix. She and nine other small dogs were dumped on a country road in East Texas, and Humane Tomorrow took them all into our adoption program. Foster mom says that Opalite is very sweet but still unsure of this big world. She is ok with other small dogs, especially those about her size, as long as they are more settled. She does not play with other dogs or toys yet and her favorite spot is in your lap. She is a little anxious in a busy household. Not sure how she would do around young children, so best for older kids and above. Adopters will need to give her a few days to settle in and feel safe, then she will be the best lap dog ever. She has now been fully vetted and ready for adoption. The ones we were able to save are the lucky ones, and now they’re looking for forever families. 💕 They are far from perfect—but they are making progress every single day. They’re still working on house training (most likely they’ve never even seen grass before), and they’re just beginning to learn how wonderful human touch can be.
