Story
If you are looking for a loyal outdoor companion with a heart of gold, say hello to Kahlua—an 8-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix who defines “good ole’ boy” in the best possible way. Around 60 pounds of love and sweetness, Kahlua lives for sunshine, breezes, rustling leaves, and long, thoughtful walks. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is.  This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure. He grew up with other dogs and prefers being the “big guy,” doing well with respectful smaller dogs or calmer companions. Solo walks? He’s relaxed and steady. With bigger, energetic dogs? He may pull a bit in excitement. Kahlua loves kids who treat him kindly and is friendly toward cats, even though he didn’t share a home with them before. Above all else, Kahlua is drawn to people who make him feel loved—give him attention and he’ll give you his whole heart. He does get springtime seasonal allergies, so starting Apoquel in February or early March keeps him feeling his best. It’s a simple bit of care for a dog who gives so much sweetness in return. Kahlua’s former mama adored him deeply but faced life changes that made caring for him impossible. Now he’s ready for a forever home where he can spend his years surrounded by stability, love, comfort, and a family who appreciates everything he has to offer. Kahlua is ready to be someone’s best friend. If you want a loyal companion with an old soul and endless love to share, come meet this wonderful boy.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving this boy the years of his life as your best sidekick ever   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:57 am

Story
I'm Tilly! Two years old and 55 pounds, 23 inches of knee-high perfection. I’m stocky like a beagle but I don’t howl, and I am sprinkled with the most gorgeous multicolored spots, and yes… I’ve been told I’m simply beautiful. I humbly agree. 😉 Toys are my love language. Especially squeaky ones. Give me a basket and I’ll curate my own play session, bouncing from toy to toy like it’s my job. Frozen Kongs? Elite. Chew sticks? Absolutely. Keeping my brain (and jaws) busy makes me very happy. And I am becoming an expert at my new fave - puzzle games! During the day I like to go, go, go - I haven't yet gotten the memo that dogs are supposed to sleep a lot 😀 - but in the afternoons and evenings, I power down like a champ and settle in for cozy naps. And I sleep through the night (outside my crate!) and have had just one oops — and honestly, that was a scheduling mix-up with my foster humans. I’m basically house-trained royalty. And of course given my likely heritage I love to run the yard with my nose in the air, catching scents like the little explorer I am. Adventure is my middle name. I can't use my words so I can't say specifically how I was raised, but all of us at my foster house are pretty sure I was a hunting dog who totally missed out on my puppyhood - so I am soaking up the world with joyful enthusiasm and making up for lost time. I’m still polishing a few skills in my foster home aka finishing school — we think this is my first rodeo with being a family dog, so I am still perfecting my house manners. But I’m getting better every day. I’m smart. I’m eager. I want to learn. I just need someone patient, kind, and ready to guide me. The best part? I absolutely adore my people (hugs and pets are THE BEST), and I am great with other dogs. So if you’re looking for a freckled, fun-sized explorer with a playful heart and a whole lot of love to give, I’m your girl. And remember - life’s just better with spots. 🐾 Tilly is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Story
Cooper is a smart, loving, energetic dog who loves hiking and exploring new smells. My husband and I got him before we had kids but his severe separation anxiety has always been a hurdle. Now that we have two small kids our daily activities and schedules have changed drastically - we're not as active and the kids have been an added stressor for him. We are hoping to find a home that he can thrive in. Cooper feels like a part of our family so it's hard to come to this decision, but knowing that he may find a home that can give him what he needs helps. He loves dogs and people, he gets annoyed with my kids but he has NEVER hurt them. He's a very good boy.

Story
Introducing the Bridgerton Pups Born in foster care and already taking society by storm, we are delighted to introduce the Bridgerton litter. Six weeks old, beagle mixed, and blessed with the most glorious floppy ears, rich tan and gold markings, crisp white accents, and fashionable black detailing, these puppies arrived looking like they were dressed for a season debut. Lady Whistledown would absolutely approve. Meet Benedict Benedict is the little bully of the bunch and he is absolutely delightful about it. He is scrappy, playful, and has a particular fondness for getting into mischief with his siblings. He approaches life with the carefree confidence of someone who has never once doubted himself. He is going to need a home with a good sense of humor and ideally some space to run, because Benedict has things to do and places to be and he is not slowing down for anyone.

Story
Current Location: Bel Air, MD Are you looking for an adorable, low key, quiet companion for your serene home? Do you enjoy slow strolls to take in the sights and stop to smell the roses? Or perhaps have a chill dog who would like a buddy? Quincy could be your guy. He is a sweet, docile, quiet boy who's a bit nervous about all the changes. Yet, he wants connection. He comes up for pets once he trusts you. He sniffs new, calm people. He may lean gently against your leg or settle right on your foot like he is testing the waters of trust. He is simply a thoughtful soul who likes to understand the room before fully stepping in. Personality Quincy is loveable, gentle, and wonderfully quiet. New sounds or quick movements can make him a little uncertain, but he recovers quickly and keeps trying. Once he feels safe, he enjoys soft petting and companionship. He will seek out his person and seems comforted by being near you. He is easy to harness, leash, and guide. And yes. He is SO cute. His super soft, fluffy fur makes it almost impossible not to reach down and give him a gentle scratch. Home Life Quincy is house trained and crate trained. He prefers being out with his people but settles quietly in his crate when needed. He may even do fine uncrated for reasonable periods, as he has shown lovely house manners so far. Indoors, he is calm. He finds a cozy nook, curls up on a quiet bed, and naps peacefully. He has not attempted to claim the furniture. He seems to like having his own safe little spot. He enjoys stuffy toys and has shown sweet little bursts of joy when he plays. Walks and Social Life Sniffy walks and time outside are his favorite. He is excellent on leash and loves a slow pace where he can stop and smell everything. He truly wants to take in the world one scent at a time. He gets along well with the resident dog. They played briefly and also coexisted calmly. He seems to enjoy canine company. Ideal Home Quincy would thrive in a quieter, calmer home. Cities or busy areas would not be his jam. He needs gentle people who understand that trust is built step by step. Give him patience and kindness, and he will absolutely win you over. He is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, negative for illness, and has a clean bill of health. Quincy is not loud or flashy. He is soft, steady, and quietly brave. And for the right person, he will be something truly special. Apply to bring this cutie home!
