Story
Abigail was picked up as a stray and we were all surprised when no one claimed her during her 10 day stray hold. It was hard to believe anyone would dump her off but apparently that was her story. She is sweet, loving and full of personality! Abigail is spayed, HW tested negative, UTD on all age appropriate vaccines and microchipped. We have aged her at just one year and she still acts like a puppy. We are only guessing about her breed mix but she has a distinct ridge down her back and she looks like a mini ridgeback. We feel like Abigail would love a fairly active family with older children and a fenced yard to run and play in. She is fine with smaller dogs that do not jump on her at first. We have not had her around cats but probably best a no cat home. She does like to jump and will need some training but she is a lover! The ideal home for Abigail would be an only pet home with a young couple/person that loves to hike or go on long walks. She has a lot of energy and would not do well in a low activity home. If you would like to give this baby girl her forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send you our info and application.

Story
Marshall is in Warrenton and available for adoption from SweetPups Nation Rescue and Sanctuary. If I had to pick one word to describe him it would be “soft”. He has the softest coat, he is very kind hearted and just has a light way of moving around. Absolutely no idea on breeds but can make a case for Ridgeback or various sight hounds. He hasn’t displayed any sent hound traits yet but could certainly be some. He has just been chilling here for a few weeks, he did go to Tractor Supply on Sat and he was good, nervous but good. He loves his crate and sleeps quietly. Has been no issue with cat or kids so far. He needs to work on learning to potty on a leash so that is our goal for this weekend. Yes I am using a flexi leash to allow him space. If you feel the need to comment on that. Don’t. So far I would classify him as a lower medium energy, he’s around 15 months old so probably full size but definitely has some filling out to do. I can see him being a fantastic couch potato and bed warmer and working in a variety of homes. He is fully vetted, had a ProHeart shot and is current on Nexguard and is microchiped. https://form.jotform.com/232467665004153

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Story
Helen’s Holden is an easy-going, accepting fellow. Not as much of a runner as Harminy and Harry, he is fully content to let little kids lie on him and snuggle with him. He can also, of course, be very playful. A family that wants a good-sized, affectionate dog will be happy to have Holden join them.  He is doing very well with housetraining. No accidents, but is still learning to signal when he needs to go out. That should come soon! This boy is just the best and we can't wait to see him find his very own home!Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org September 22, 2023, 10:12 pm

Story
Helen’s Harry is a lovely, playful, friendly puppy who is surprisingly calm inside the house and explosively energetic when allowed to run and play with canine friends outside. Needless to say, he would love to run and play with me (if I could run and play). He would enjoy participating in any athletic activity like agility training or coursing and would be excellent at these games given his desire to please and his natural athletic abilities. AND he is smart! He does very well in his crate and doesn’t stir or complain knowing he has to wait until after morning coffee. He is a very curious boy. My husband was doing some delicate soldering and insisted on trying ‘to help’. At meal time, he doesn’t beg, but just sits at our feet and chews on a toy. Harry is very good about playing by himself and so far has not been destructive, except to his toys. He is doing well on housetraining and performs as soon as I take him out. Harry has not been exposed to cats. Harry will make a loving family companion in any situation.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org September 22, 2023, 10:12 pm
