Rhodesian Ridgeback German Pinscher

Male, Young
Washington, DC
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Please contact Paul Slebzak ( for more information about this pet.young pup looking for his forever home! SCOOBERT NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!       Name:  Scoobert        Best Guess for Breed:   German pinscher & Rhodesian Ridgeback mix  Best Guess for Age:   11 months as of October 2023          SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:   48 lbs as of Nov. 2023 - might have a tiny bit more to grow   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven’t seen Scoobert with cats, but he can be tested! Although Scoobert is generally a confident and goofy pup, he doesn't have experience living with small humans, and they seem to make him nervous when he's out on walks. He'd do best in a home without kids under 12 where HE can be your baby!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Watch video of Scoobert here!   Meet Scoobert: Your Future Furry Best Friend! Hello World! My name is Scoobert (Scoobs, Scoob-a-lou, Scooby Doo etc.), the most charming 11-month-old German Pinscher/Ridgeback mix you will ever meet! I've got a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! My story began in the Lone Star State, where I was adopted as a little ball of fur. Life threw me a curveball, and I found myself back in the adoption world through no fault of my own, but that hasn't dampened my spirits one bit. Now I'm here in the vibrant city of DC, ready to find my forever family! Let me tell you a bit about myself – I’m not just your regular pup; I’m playful, cuddly, and super fun! I thrive on playtime, wrestling matches, and of course, lots of cuddles. My playful antics will keep you laughing, and my sweet, charming nature will melt your heart. I love to play but at the end of the day my foster mom and I have THE BEST cuddles – I squish right up and snuggle with her on the couch and it is the best! Oh, and let's talk about my favorite pastime – tearing apart toys, Nylabones, and ice cubes! It's a blast, and I love every moment of it. I am good at playing and entertaining myself and I am also great at playing with new friends! I'm getting pretty good at letting you know when I am ready for a quick potty break too, I'll head straight for the door when nature calls. I've got some impressive tricks up my furry sleeves! I've mastered commands like Sit, Look, and Leave It. Oh, and my recall game is strong – call my name, and I'll come running, tail wagging in excitement. I have been practicing walking nicely on the leash and my foster mom says I'm a really quick learner! I'm eager to please, especially if there are treats involved! Food? Count me in! I absolutely love working for treats, making training sessions a delightful experience! When it comes to making friends, I'm a social butterfly. I adore meeting new people, cuddling up, and making them feel special. I recently proved my charm when I visited a busy hair salon – 90 minutes of pure poise and grace, if I do say so myself! I've also made furry friends with two German Shepherds, some giant Labradors, a chihuahua, golden, the list goes on and had a blast! Sharing toys, treats, and even water? That’s my specialty. I’m not just looking for a home; I'm looking for a family to love and adore. If you're in search of a playful, intelligent, and cuddly companion who will fill your life with joy and endless tail wags, look no further. I’m Scoobert! I can't wait to meet you and embark on a lifetime of adventures together! Rhodesian Ridgeback Retriever (Unknown Type)

Male, Adult
Pasadena, MD
(when grown) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Looking for a home for this big boy. He is a sweet/lovable dog but does have some anxiety issues. Not good with others dogs, or at least he doesn't seem to like them very much on walks. Also, somewhat apprehensive towards new people. Kids hang all over him and he doesn't seem to mind. Not sure his age as when we got him from the shelter two years ago they weren't totally sure either. But we think he might be around 6 years old now. Seems playful and young enough. Unfortunately, our financial situation has changed for the worse and we would love to see him go to a loving home that can keep him permanently. Seems fairly calm inside the house most of the time and has not had any accidents since adopting him. He lets our 8lb. cat boss him around a lot. Absolutely loves walks. Not totally up to date on some shots as it is an ordeal getting him into the vet for nail trims and shots.

Abigail 23 lbs of fun!

Rhodesian Ridgeback Dachshund

Female, 1 yr
Leesburg, VA
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Abigail was picked up as a stray and we were all surprised when no one claimed her during her 10 day stray hold. It was hard to believe anyone would dump her off but apparently that was her story. She is sweet, loving and full of personality! Abigail is spayed, HW tested negative, UTD on all age appropriate vaccines and microchipped. We have aged her at just one year and she still acts like a puppy. We are only guessing about her breed mix but she has a distinct ridge down her back and she looks like a mini ridgeback. We feel like Abigail would love a fairly active family with older children and a fenced yard to run and play in. She is fine with smaller dogs that do not jump on her at first. We have not had her around cats but probably best a no cat home. She does like to jump and will need some training but she is a lover! The ideal home for Abigail would be an only pet home with a young couple/person that loves to hike or go on long walks. She has a lot of energy and would not do well in a low activity home. If you would like to give this baby girl her forever home, please email and we will send you our info and application.
