Story
APPROVED ADOPTERS ONLY WITH APPROVED APPLICATIONMeet Ladybug—affectionately known as Bug—a soulful 3-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as her adorably boxy nose. Her journey hasn’t been the easiest, but that’s exactly what makes her story so special.Bug came to us as a transfer. Something about her quiet presence and gentle eyes made us want to give her more—more time, more care, and more love. So we brought her to MCAC to give her just that. At first, she was a little unsure of the world around her, keeping her feelings tucked safely inside. But with patience, kindness, and a lot of heart, Bug has started to blossom into the loving, affectionate girl we knew she could be.Once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll discover her sweetest secret: she’s a kiss-giver for life. The kind of dog who bonds deeply, who looks at you like you’re her whole world, and who will quietly lean into you just to be close. Those moments feel earned—and they’re worth everything.Ladybug is considered a special adoption, meaning she’s looking for someone with prior Rottweiler experience who understands her breed and is willing to go at her pace. Meet-and-greets will be by appointment only and extended to approved adopters. We strongly encourage multiple visits so she has the chance to get comfortable and build that all-important connection—just like she has with us.She’s up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives, already spayed, and currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. Because of this, she will be placed in a foster-to-adopt home so we can help guide her through the remainder of her care. This includes two scheduled injections and about 30 days of follow-up medication—we’ll be with you every step of the way.Bug has shown positive interactions with other dogs so far, but while she continues healing, we believe she’ll thrive best in a calm, quiet home. She’s looking for adopters who are thoughtful and intentional about her exercise and enrichment—someone who understands that love means more than just opening the back door. Her adoption fee is $150—but what she’ll give in return is truly priceless. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will meet you there with quiet devotion, soft kisses, and a love that grows deeper every day, come meet Ladybug.Just be warned—you might not leave without her.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My ad

Story
Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

Story
Some dogs wait for the world to come to them. Zaria goes out to meet it. Born from the same accidental litter as her sisters, Zaria is the golden girl of the group — lighter in color, lighter on her feet, and about ten pounds lighter than her sister Susie. Where Susie leans more Rottweiler, Zaria is all warm tan and golden tones, the kind of dog that catches your eye across a room and holds it. She's the bold one. The adventurous one. The one who's a little more willing to trust you before you've fully earned it — though she still has that soft shy streak that makes her all the more endearing when she finally melts into you. Strangers become friends faster with Zaria. She's dominant, confident, and curious about everything the world has to offer. And then she'll climb into your lap and stay there. Zaria loves affection just as much as she loves action. She wants to go on the adventure and snuggle on the couch after. She's food motivated enough to make training rewarding, while still being the kind of dog who's in it for the experience as much as the treat. She's spayed, fully up to date on vaccines, and microchipped — ready for the family that claims her as their own the moment they meet her. Zaria would thrive in a home with another pet by her side. She's a companion dog through and through — happiest when she has someone to play with, explore with, and curl up next to at the end of the day. Zaria is looking for a foster or forever home. If you want a dog with a little more spark, a little more sass, and a whole lot of heart — she's already looking for you.

Story
I got Diamond two years ago from a pet store. Since she came, we have been a small family of 3. She has brought so much joy to my daughter. She is very active and playful. Looking to rehome her to a good loving home, who have the time to keep up with her activeness. The home who can be around her often.

Story
If you are looking for a young, frisky pup who loves to play, Roady would be your new best friend. He could be part boxer or boxweiler with his furrowed brow but leans in like a lab, part heeler perhaps? Whatever the mix, Roady does love the car, travels politely, and would thrive with a daily dog park visit. He has a lot of stamina, runs fast, and enjoys chasing balls. He might do really well with agility training. Roady loves his meals and is working on "sit" to wait for them. He is a bit shy on occasion and it will take time for "come" to be second nature. Roady can get distracted outside as all his senses seem to be on alert. He has especially keen hearing and long distance vision, but does not bark often. He is a gentleman in the house as he is totally housebroken! Roady is still young and learning, loving a chew toy of any kind, especially plastic, so he will need heavy monitoring in a new environment for a bit. He takes calm and firm verbal correction well and is learning "off" and "leave it" commands. Having said that, Roady crates easily and enjoys being in and out of bed during the day on his own. He has done well being confined when adults are out for a couple of hours. Roady gets along well with other medium-sized dogs and follows after his foster brother on walks and visits in the yard. He is a great follower and would love another dog or playmate at home. He does very well on leash. If you are looking for a manageable optimistic, playful dog who can content himself without fuss, Roady will make a wonderful companion for the lucky family that chooses him.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Roscoe, one of two new residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Roscoe is a smaller Rottweiler Mix, he’s about one year of age, he has a beautiful, multicolored coat, and he weighs just 36 pounds. He is slightly shy at first but this handsome boy enjoys meeting new people and other nice dogs. Roscoe enjoys engaging with people in the outdoor play yard and he’s a ball-fetcher extraordinaire.  He really likes playing ball and he’d keep going for hours if given the chance. Roscoe had his vaccinations on 1/20/26 and he tested negative for Heart Worm on 4/12/26. We have him started on heart worm prevention and flea/tick meds. Roscoe has already been neutered so he’s ready to find his forever family and have a great summer full of exploration.  If you would like to meet Roscoe, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org .   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2026, 5:41 pm
