She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues

Story
Bowser A18131070 lb. neutered male, approx 2 years old -This boy is looking for a home where someone can be patient with him and go slow-He enjoys pets but they definitely seem newer to him. Once he was able to relax, he was leaning in for more!-He is treat motivated, sits for the most part and takes them very gently-He found the toy bin and rooted through it until he found a ball! He was flipping it all over the place. The ball seems to be his favorite and he didn’t care for the stuffies.-The more comfortable he got the more playful he became. Pressing into me and pawing at me. All very gentle.-Good boy who needs someone to go slow with him-Walks nicely with minimal pulling. Loves to sniff and explore everything while on walks.-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

Story
Meet the Inferno Pack – EMBER! Date of Birth: September 27, 2025Breed: Rottweiler & German ShepherdWeight: 22lbs (and growing) Ember is a bold and confident young pup with a heart as big as her spirit. She was surrendered along with her siblings and comes from impressive stock—her mom is a purebred Rottweiler and her dad a purebred German Shepherd. Ember has faced some challenges early in life, having suffered a growth plate injury that required amputation of one leg. Despite this, she is resilient and full of energy, ready to embrace life with her new family. This fun-loving girl plays rough and is best matched with large or extra-large dogs who can keep up with her tank-like playstyle. She’s not suited for homes with small or senior dogs, as she’s still learning appropriate boundaries and can be a bit exuberant. Ember is currently working on resource guarding, especially around her food bowl—a common Rottweiler trait. To help, she uses a slow feeder dish because she’s extremely food motivated and tends to eat fast. Smart and eager to learn, Ember already knows several commands including sit, leave it, wait, come, touch (nose to hand), "let's go," and she understands “go outside.” She is crate trained, fully potty trained, and will let you know when she needs to go out. While she hasn’t had much leash experience yet, she is progressing well. Ember sleeps through the night but will wake you up if she needs a potty break or it’s time to start the day. She’s a sweet girl who gets along well with the kids in her foster home. Like many puppies, she can be a bit mouthy when excited but nothing out of the ordinary. Ember would thrive best with an active, experienced family with older, dog-savvy children who can keep up with her energy and help guide her into a well-mannered adult dog. Looking for a confident, playful, and smart companion to join your active lifestyle? Ember might be the one for you! Ember can go home with you but will remain in foster-to-adopt status until the sterilization surgery has been completed at 6 months of age at one of our partner veterinary offices (Chesterfield, Clawson, Clinton Twp, or Rochester), which is included in the adoption fee and is non-negotiable. Ember is:Current on age-appropriate vaccinations DewormedReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedWill be scheduled for neuter surgery at one of partner Veterinary offices at 6 months of age.ADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2588518##
