Story
Rags is a very friendly and chill Rottie mix who was luckily rescued by his foster. He was found walking down a median on a busy road in Detroit. Rags currently lives with several other dogs and is very loving and sweet. It appeared he was not very well taken care of when found. He has an overbite which was probably congenital that causes his tongue to stick out. He had heartworm disease when we first got him but he was treated and is now healthy and heartworm negative. Rags is about 75 pounds and estimated to be about 10 years old. Rags has a good personality and would love to finally find a wonderful new family to love and care for him. This fellow definitely deserves it. Please consider making him a new addition to your home or companion for another friendly dog.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
If you are looking for a young, frisky pup who loves to play, Roady would be your new best friend. He could be part boxer or boxweiler with his furrowed brow but leans in like a lab, part heeler perhaps? Whatever the mix, Roady does love the car, travels politely, and would thrive with a daily dog park visit. He has a lot of stamina, runs fast, and enjoys chasing balls. He might do really well with agility training. Roady loves his meals and is working on "sit" to wait for them. He is a bit shy on occasion and it will take time for "come" to be second nature. Roady can get distracted outside as all his senses seem to be on alert. He has especially keen hearing and long distance vision, but does not bark often. He is a gentleman in the house as he is totally housebroken! Roady is still young and learning, loving a chew toy of any kind, especially plastic, so he will need heavy monitoring in a new environment for a bit. He takes calm and firm verbal correction well and is learning "off" and "leave it" commands. Having said that, Roady crates easily and enjoys being in and out of bed during the day on his own. He has done well being confined when adults are out for a couple of hours. Roady gets along well with other medium-sized dogs and follows after his foster brother on walks and visits in the yard. He is a great follower and would love another dog or playmate at home. He does very well on leash. If you are looking for a manageable optimistic, playful dog who can content himself without fuss, Roady will make a wonderful companion for the lucky family that chooses him.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Roady's adoption fee is $275. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Roscoe, one of two new residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.  Roscoe is a smaller Rottweiler Mix, he’s about one year of age, he has a beautiful, multicolored coat, and he weighs just 36 pounds. He is slightly shy at first but this handsome boy enjoys meeting new people and other nice dogs. Roscoe enjoys engaging with people in the outdoor play yard and he’s a ball-fetcher extraordinaire.  He really likes playing ball and he’d keep going for hours if given the chance. Roscoe had his vaccinations on 1/20/26 and he tested negative for Heart Worm on 4/12/26. We have him started on heart worm prevention and flea/tick meds. Roscoe has already been neutered so he’s ready to find his forever family and have a great summer full of exploration.  If you would like to meet Roscoe, please submit an adoption application under his name at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org .   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2026, 5:51 am

Story
APPROVED ADOPTERS ONLY WITH APPROVED APPLICATIONMeet Ladybug—affectionately known as Bug—a soulful 3-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as her adorably boxy nose. Her journey hasn’t been the easiest, but that’s exactly what makes her story so special.Bug came to us as a transfer. Something about her quiet presence and gentle eyes made us want to give her more—more time, more care, and more love. So we brought her to MCAC to give her just that. At first, she was a little unsure of the world around her, keeping her feelings tucked safely inside. But with patience, kindness, and a lot of heart, Bug has started to blossom into the loving, affectionate girl we knew she could be.Once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll discover her sweetest secret: she’s a kiss-giver for life. The kind of dog who bonds deeply, who looks at you like you’re her whole world, and who will quietly lean into you just to be close. Those moments feel earned—and they’re worth everything.Ladybug is considered a special adoption, meaning she’s looking for someone with prior Rottweiler experience who understands her breed and is willing to go at her pace. Meet-and-greets will be by appointment only and extended to approved adopters. We strongly encourage multiple visits so she has the chance to get comfortable and build that all-important connection—just like she has with us.She’s up-to-date on all vaccines and preventatives, already spayed, and currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. Because of this, she will be placed in a foster-to-adopt home so we can help guide her through the remainder of her care. This includes two scheduled injections and about 30 days of follow-up medication—we’ll be with you every step of the way.Bug has shown positive interactions with other dogs so far, but while she continues healing, we believe she’ll thrive best in a calm, quiet home. She’s looking for adopters who are thoughtful and intentional about her exercise and enrichment—someone who understands that love means more than just opening the back door. Her adoption fee is $150—but what she’ll give in return is truly priceless. If you’re ready to open your heart to a dog who will meet you there with quiet devotion, soft kisses, and a love that grows deeper every day, come meet Ladybug.Just be warned—you might not leave without her.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My ad

Story
Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. If you are up for it, we can discuss. We cover all needed vet care. The adoption fee is $275. Please apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt

Story
Meet Letty — a 6-year-old Doberman with a gentle heart, soulful eyes, and a spirit that’s ready to shine again. Letty has been through a lot of change lately, but she’s handled it all with quiet grace. She’s calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s close to her people — the kind of dog who leans in for love and gives it right back tenfold. Letty is fully house trained, easy to have around, and has shown nothing but sweetness toward other animals. She’s not destructive, doesn’t bark excessively, and simply wants to be part of a family again. Her hips are a little tender, so she’d do best in a home without many stairs, where she can rest comfortably and move at her own pace. About Letty: - 6 years old, around 74 lbs - Gentle, loyal, and affectionate - House trained and well-behaved - Good with other animals - Calm and loving temperament - Would thrive in a home with minimal stairs Letty is the definition of a good dog — steady, kind, and full of quiet love. She’s ready to find the soft landing she deserves and the people who will make her feel safe, comfortable, and cherished every day. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
--FOSTER PUPDATE--Selene A18445825 lbs. spayed female, approx 5 monthsIf you’re looking for a fun-loving sidekick who’s ready for life’s adventures, Selene might just be your girl! This curious, active pup is always ready to explore the world around her. Whether it’s a long walk, a day at the ball field, or tagging along to an outdoor restaurant, she takes it all in stride. She happily walks with her resident dog friends without needing a break, this girl loves to be on the move!Like any puppy her age, Selene is still learning and growing. She’s doing wonderfully with potty training and is basically there. She’s also in the middle of teething, so she likes to explore the world with her mouth, but redirects easily and has been very respectful of belongings (other than properly destroying her toys, of course 😉).She’s had some crate experience for shorter periods and has done well for a few hours at a time. At home, she’s a great roommate, she sleeps through the night, eats and rests comfortably alongside other dogs, and settles in nicely. Slow and proper intros always recommended. So far, she’s taken on restaurants, school events, baseball and softball games like a champ, showing she’s got the makings of a confident companion who’s ready to keep experiencing the world by your side. This pet is in a foster home! If you are interested in meeting NAME, please email foster@friendsofdacc.org with subject line “NAME A#”Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adoptThere is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, and $40 for cats payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.
