Story
Hi! My name is Scottie 2 Rottie! I am a big handsome boy with a lot of love to give. My story almost had a tragic ending when I was in the shelter. I hated it there. It was so loud, there wasn't much room to move, and I didn't know what was going on. Then I heard them talking about my time being up since I was so stressed. I started to worry, but then some nice people came to get me and told me I was safe. That was the best day! I ran around the yard playing for what seemed like forever. I have met some new dog friends while in rescue and I have been nice to everyone I meet. I also like to see what my boundaries are since I never had any so my new humans have to be able to make sure I know how to not be the boss of the house. I am also not a huge fan of going in a crate. I will, but I don't care for it. After being confined in a scary place can you blame me? If you give me treats though it does make it a better experience. My perfect home has a yard for me to run and play, a human who can be my leader, and a cozy spot to take a nap. I am a really nice boy, I just need the life I deserved from the start. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxDorsey will require another confident dog in his adoptive homeTo say Dorsey is a lover, not a fighter is a major understatement. We don't know what he experienced in his life before rescue, but he clearly was given a reason to fear people. But, with dog buddies to show him the ways of the house pet, he has found that cuddling is his absolute favorite activity. When he trusts, he falls in love. He wants to be so close his family, both receiving and providing comfort. He includes in his family all creatures great and small, from his people and foster siblings and visiting dogs down to 'his' cat. When a furry friend tells him it's play time, he is all in for that too. And when it's time to rest, he is right there like a warm blanket or pillow. Dorsey is fully housebroken and kennel trained. He enjoys walks and running around the yard. He came to us very, very thin but he loves his mealtime and with 3 meals a day and some treats, he is slowly putting on weight. I guess that makes his life philosophy Eat, Play, Love.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

*Roscoe's Adoption Fee Is Sponsored* Sponsored Means That A Generous Donor Paid For His Adoption Fee! Very Gentle Doesn't Drool Doesn't Jump If you are looking for a whole lot of love, Roscoe is your guy! Roscoe is an 11 year old, 90-pound Rottweiler mix who is just looking for someone to lavish all of his affection upon. His favorite thing is being close to people; Roscoe is a leaner, a snuggler, and a lap pup – if you let him. If not, he is content to relax by your feet or on a dog bed nearby. Roscoe knows sit and lie down, takes treats gently, is not possessive and is tolerant of handling and responds well to direction. He's becoming quite a mellow walker - stays by your side or slightly ahead and doesn't pull unless he needs to find a place to 'do his business.' Only speeds up when he sees 'home' as he's probably excited to take a nap - all retirees deserve a nap after a walk! He is a happy guy who has years of affection to give. Roscoe would love for you to come and say hi! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application.  Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice. If you have a dog currently, you should bring him/her along to meet the new dog so we can see how everyone interacts.  Please visit our website for additional information. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Kobe is an exceptional dog. He is so good-natured, friendly, sweet, low key in one way, yet loves to go for a walk, or a trip to the dog park. Kobe is a steady eddy in terms of temperament, and he is responsive to direction and commands. He is crate-trained, although he doesn't need a crate, and potty-trained. Kobe is said to be around eight years old and about 100 lbs. Kobe looks like he could be menacing, but is just so friendly, we haven't seen any human aggression from him at all. Kobe came from a neglect/cruelty case, where believe it or not - the dogs were starving. Some kind advocates in KY got him out of that situation and plumped him up! He sure does love to eat! We are putting him on a reduced food intake and exercise to help him lose some weight, although he will always be a Big Boy, he does need to lose some weight for his overall health. Kobe does have Cushing's disease, so he will need to be on medication for that for the rest of his life. Kobe should not go to a home with cats but has shown very well with other dogs. Kobe would do best in a home with an active person who can give him the walks, dog park, and fun he had missed out on for years. He can live with other dogs, but no cats for Kobe. A fenced-in yard would be in his best interest, as he loves to be outside, truly loves to sit outside, even for hours, or go in and out quite a bit. If you live in the country and have some land and some if it is fenced, he would love that to the moon and back (but not mandatory). Let us know if you are interested in meeting this special boy. He has a special future, we can tell!  Interested in fostering or adopting? I am a fun-loving snuggle bug who loves my people. I am crazy about other dogs, I adore toys, and I like to get squeakers! I enjoy running around my foster family's yard and playing with the dogs. I am startled by loud noises and prefer to sleep in bed with my person, even though I hog the entire bed. I take treats super gently, and did I mention I love, love, love to snuggle! I am working on my manners and not pulling on the leash. I'm learning to leave it and to sit and wait when other dogs or people are approaching. The problem is I want to meet everyone and every dog I see. I also love to sniff. Sniffing is more interesting to me than treats! I am looking for the perfect active person or family with another dog to play with and keep me company when my people leave. Story
Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
