Story
Meet Amy  A beautiful Boxer/Lab mix with a heart of gold and eyes that will melt yours. Amy is the definition of a sensitive soul. She’s happiest right by your side—whether she’s quietly keeping you company or soaking up all the cuddles you can give. And don’t forget her favorite comfort: her blankie! Amy loves to burrow underneath it, just poking her nose out to check in on you—it's as adorable as it sounds.  Why You’ll Fall in Love with Amy: The Perfect Travel Buddy – Amy loves car rides and is always ready to hop in for your next adventure. A+ Student – She’s fully potty trained and already knows her “sit” and “stay.” She’s eager to please and a wonderful listener. Gentle & Affectionate – Amy forms deep, meaningful bonds with her people and thrives on love and connection. Great Walking Partner – She enjoys her daily walks and does well on a leash. Amy has also met a cat in her temporary foster home and politely chose to ignore it—what a lady!  What Amy Needs in a Forever Home: Amy can be a bit of a wallflower at first. She’s sensitive to loud or sudden noises and can be unsure around other dogs. With guidance from trainers, she’s already making great progress and does well when given space from other dogs—she’s learning every day! Because of this, Amy would do best in: A calm, patient home that will help her continue building confidence A single-family house, where there are fewer unexpected noises A home where she can feel safe, understood, and loved at her own pace  The Reward: Give Amy a little patience and a peaceful environment, and she’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, trust, and the coziest snuggles you could ever hope for.   Ready to make Amy part of your family? If you have a quiet home and a big heart, Amy could be your perfect match. Not able to adopt right now? You can still help! Share Amy’s story—her perfect forever home is out there waiting.        Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Goofy Goose and her sister, Pluto, found themselves unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs, people, and dog savvy cats .  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. She recently arrived in MN. We will update her bio as we get to know her more. She has perfected the puppy dog eyes look. She is great with kids, kennels great, is respectful of cats and loves other dogs. She is working on potty training, catches on quickly to new tricks, eagar to please and is very treat motivated. If you're looking for a pup with little personal space and who leans in close for those pets, she has those perfected as well and is ready to show you all the love she has.   First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment in early September.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2026, 7:37 pm

Story
Sweet Rocco had been living at a local land fill for over a month! He was terrified and would run away when people tried to help him - no one could catch him. We borrowed a live trap, and within two days the little guy was caught. Rocco is safe here with us, and he has come along way since the day we rescued him a number of years ago. Rocco has generalized fear and anxiety which will show as "aggression" if not handled properly. He has met new people and dogs and is gaining confidence, but he still needs slow introductions to new dogs, and when strangers visit the house he must be slowly introduced in a positive way. Rocco is a petite little guy (around 45-50 ponds) who is house trained and loves to "go with" on any excursion. He listens well, loves to play with squeaky toys, and has completed his basic obedience training class. During vet visits he wears his muzzle and does best with minimal restraint. Rocco has really bonded with us, and it appears as though he has some separation anxiety - his family is the most precious thing in his life - more important than food, water or comfort. Rocco does not want to be, and he currently cannot be, left alone - he has climbed six foot tall fences to find us. We have worked with a professional trainer, Casey McGee of Upward Hound Dog Training, on his anxiety issues and he has responded well, but he will require additional time and training. Rocco can improve significantly with proper training and medication, but he needs understanding, compassion, patience and trust. Rocco would do best in a quiet home with a family who will be dedicated to working with our trainer who will guide them through a program to help Rocco. Rescued Tails will cover the training costs for the adoptive home. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about this very special dog. You will never find a more loyal companion than Rocco.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2026, 12:18 am

Story
Update 7.8.26 Hello MNBR Fans, my name is Zarek pronounced like Derek with a Z. I am fairly new to rescue. I have a foster brother and would love a home with a furry friend or a family who would take me to the dog park or doggy daycare because I have lots of energy. I am pretty good on a leash so I might make an awesome running/walking/hiking partner. My foster mom says it is like having a toddler in the house, as I am still learning what I can and cannot have, but I am a quick learner. I love to play tug-a-war and think everything is a tug toy. I also like playing fetch and know the release word is “mine.” I have a passion for water and would not mind a waterfront view!! I like helping out and supervising home renovation projects. I know how to work a hammer or at least I like to think that I do.  Can’t wait to introduce myself to you! Love Zarek❤️    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2026, 3:51 pm

Story
COMING SOON TO RESCUE: Primrose says this about her...... How can I Summarize Primrose in such a small space? There are so many things to say because she is just the best girl! Let me start at the beginning and you can get to know her through my eyes and heart. Prim came from not the best situation with a breeder. She never learned to be a dog or to feel love. When she came to us she was absolutely terrified of the entire world around her including us. To the point she had to be picked up and carried outside. , She quickly grew to trust myself(Mom) and my 10 year old daughter but it took several months for her to even acknowledge the adult male in the household without complete fear and wanting to run and hide. Because of her previous home life and myself being in a wheelchair she is not housebroken. Given the time though she will get it and will be someone's or some families bestie! About 9 months later you would almost not know she came to us that way! Prim is all about her people and if they are doing it that's what she wants to be doing also! She has more of a couch potato personality but does have her moments where she loves to play. Especially when we come home she gets excited and likes when you stomp your feet and she will pounce down and zoom around. She is hilarious when you give her cherry tomatoes ( if she can get close enough to the vine she will steal them ) she plays with them like a ball before she eats them. She LOVES children and her favorite thing to do is pick up 'her girl' from school and see all the kids. If you sit facing her on a bed or couch and ask her for 'huggies' she will let you hug on her and put her chin on your shoulder. Rub her ears while she's there and she might just stay there forever. Primmy is very quiet and you won't hear her make noise or bark unless she thinks she's alone or she's playing. She likes to dance and hug around your waist if her mood is right. She has the biggest underbite and her top lip gets tucked sometimes and she just looks at you with her 'teef' lol. She is used to being put in outfits and doesn't really make a fuss about them and she looks pretty great in tutus! I could probably go on forever about all her great things and little quirks but the bottom line is if someone has the patience to help her with potty training she is going to be the most loving and loyal best friend to the luckiest person!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2026, 3:51 pm

Story
Pupdate 7.19.26 Meet Drax! Drax is a big, brindle Boxer boy with snazzy white boots, a handsome mask, and 85–90 pounds of pure charm. At 7 years old, he has the perfect mix of playful goofball and loyal sidekick. Whether you're working at your desk, relaxing inside, or spending the day outside gardening, Drax is happiest simply being near his people. This handsome guy is sweet, smart, and very people-oriented. He knows several cues, including sit, wait, kennel, and sometimes lay down, and he takes treats gently. He's also 100% house trained and does well having free run of the house. At night, he sleeps in his crate in the bedroom—ideally with the door open so he can choose his cozy spot. Drax currently lives in a foster home with another dog and a cat. He gets along well with the dog, though his play style can be big and enthusiastic. Cats are a little too interesting for him, and while he can be redirected, he would likely do best in a cat-free home. Because he is large, strong, and still learning not to jump or "box" when excited, he'll need a family that can help him continue polishing his manners. When meeting new people or dogs, Drax comes in with a lot of Boxer enthusiasm—barking, jumping, mouthing, and trying to play before everyone is ready. Slow, thoughtful introductions are important for this lovable guy. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet, silly, affectionate personality shines through. Drax is not a big toy guy, but he loves chewy treasures like filled bones and cow hooves. He also loves food and eats with typical Boxer gusto, so a slow feeder may be a great way to keep him busy. He still tends to guzzle water, which means he appreciates frequent potty breaks during the day. Because Drax is very big and strong, he'll do best with an adopter who has Boxer or large-breed experience and is comfortable using tools like a harness and martingale collar for safe walks. He can be crated for short periods when his people leave, especially if another dog is nearby, but more than anything, Drax wants to be part of the family. If you're looking for a loyal shadow, goofy garden buddy, office nap companion, and full-time best friend, Drax may be your guy. He's handsome, loving, smart, and ready to find the people he never has to be away from again. PUPDATE 3.22.26 PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: I'm a 7-year-old male with a black and gold brindle coat, topped off with snazzy white boots, a chest, and a dashing mask tipping the scales at 85-90 pounds of pure charm. I was a bit weak in the back end coming into rescue but now I'm almost superhero strong! Oh, and did I mention that I'm a stunner! TEMPERAMENT: Got a playful spirit? Me too! I’m a bundle of joy with a sweet nature and a brain that soaks up new tricks faster than a sponge. Sometimes, I opt for my crate for a snooze. I'm pretty clever, I bag of tricks includes, "sit", "wait", "kennel", and occasionally "lay". I’m a gentle treat taker and playtime with pals is my jam. No need to worry about me being possessive; I’m as chill as they come with space, toys, food, and water. Plus, I stroll like a pro without tugging on the leash! QUIRKS I’M POLISHING: New places can make me jittery, so I need a couple of days to get my groove on. Initially, I might pant like a marathoner, leading to a water guzzle and, well, frequent bathroom breaks. But once I’m comfy, all that disappears. I'm also learning to keep all four paws on the ground, and my foster bro is teaching me the art of toy play. NEW TO RESCUE: Simplest way to describe me is like Rainman..... so smart, yet a few cards shy of a full deck. I'm playful, happy, calm, fun, and easy to train. If you want to play (tag and boxing my humans are fave games), I'll play. If you want to relax, I'll relax. I like kids, dogs and birds. I'm excellent on leash when it's just us, but get overly excited when I see others and will pull. I'm housetrained, but do occasionally have an accident as I'm water obsessed. I'm from a boxer breeder, I just have wonky ears...I swear I'm full Boxer!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2026, 3:51 pm
