Story
Meet Scottie 2 Rottie! Scottie's story starts out a sad one but he is well on his way to the good life now. This young man got himself locked up at animal control. The high stress environment did not bode well for Scottie as he's already an anxious guy and had developed some habits that the sheltered deemed unmanageable in that environment. Luckily, he foster parents stepped up to bust him out of the pound and give him a shot at working through some of his "unmanageable" behaviors. He has been working with his fosters and a trainer and has been moving in the right direction. His "bad habits" included jumping and being mouth have been virtually nonexistent since being in the fosters home who understand a young rottie's behavior when they weren't given a strong foundation as a small puppy and have grown in a large brute of a guy who will test his boundaries. In true rottie fashion, of course. Anyone who understands this breed in general, knows that training is going to need to continue on or else he will continue to test those boundaries. The trainer says he LOVES to learn and is so smart. He has been started on Fluoxetine and it has done wonders for the generalized anxiety he experiences. He would do best in a home with another medium to large dog/dogs as he loves to play but given his size and age loves to play rough so may be too much for the smaller dogs. Overall, Scottie is very sweet, loves attention and will gladly take pets and scratches from anyone willing to give them. Breed: Rottweiler Estimate DOB: 6/22/22 Size: 100+lb Good with Dogs: Yes (Large preferred) Good with Cats: No Good with Kids: No - he doesn't know his size Housetrained: Yes Adoption Fee: $500 https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Dog

We don't know what he experienced in his life before rescue, but he clearly was given a reason to fear people. But, with dog buddies to show him the ways of the house pet, he has found that cuddling is his absolute favorite activity. When he trusts, he falls in love. He wants to be so close his family, both receiving and providing comfort. He includes in his family all creatures great and small, from his people and foster siblings and visiting dogs down to 'his' cat. When a furry friend tells him it's play time, he is all in for that too. And when it's time to rest, he is right there like a warm blanket or pillow. Dorsey is fully housebroken and kennel trained. He enjoys walks and running around the yard. He came to us very, very thin but he loves his mealtime and with 3 meals a day and some treats, he is slowly putting on weight. I guess that makes his life philosophy Eat, Play, Love.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Kobe is an exceptional dog. He is so good-natured, friendly, sweet, low key in one way, yet loves to go for a walk, or a trip to the dog park. Kobe is a steady eddy in terms of temperament, and he is responsive to direction and commands. He is crate-trained, although he doesn't need a crate, and potty-trained. Kobe is said to be around eight years old and about 100 lbs. Kobe looks like he could be menacing, but is just so friendly, we haven't seen any human aggression from him at all. Kobe came from a neglect/cruelty case, where believe it or not - the dogs were starving. Some kind advocates in KY got him out of that situation and plumped him up! He sure does love to eat! We are putting him on a reduced food intake and exercise to help him lose some weight, although he will always be a Big Boy, he does need to lose some weight for his overall health. Kobe does have Cushing's disease, so he will need to be on medication for that for the rest of his life. Kobe should not go to a home with cats but has shown very well with other dogs. Kobe would do best in a home with an active person who can give him the walks, dog park, and fun he had missed out on for years. He can live with other dogs, but no cats for Kobe. A fenced-in yard would be in his best interest, as he loves to be outside, truly loves to sit outside, even for hours, or go in and out quite a bit. If you live in the country and have some land and some if it is fenced, he would love that to the moon and back (but not mandatory). Let us know if you are interested in meeting this special boy. He has a special future, we can tell!  Interested in fostering or adopting? Story
Welcome Rocky to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Rottweiler or Shepherd/Bulldog is our best guess on breed. He has a beautiful grey coat that is shorter and he is athletic and friendly. He weighs about 50 pounds and is a good weight and is about 1.5 years old. He has new adult teeth that are still nice and clean. He would be perfect for a runner, walker, jogger, hiker or athletic and outdoorsy family. He loves all people so you won’t have any trouble with him meeting new people. He would love to join a family on all their adventures. He is good in his kennel and goes potty in his outdoor space. He hasn’t been reactive when we had him on leash. He is a head turner for sure. He is getting his vaccinations and will be neutered and ready for his forever home in a couple of weeks. He is outgoing and would be fine with a family that has children. We would like children to be 8 or older. Rocky is not a big shedding dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Finn is a healthy 8 year old Rottweiler. We have had him since he was a puppy. He is calm and enjoys playing outside with balls, watching tv with the family and cuddling. He tends to forget how big he is and tries to fit on laps. Finn lives with another dog and they play well together. Over the last 6 months, he has started being more territorial and has gotten aggressive around food. We have young children in the house and do not want them to inadvertently interrupt Finn when he is eating.
