Queso is an energetic puppy with a playful spirit! He is working hard on learning how to be the best dog he can be! He has been practicing going potty outside, still working on giving cues for outside but getting there. He would do best romping with older kids, since he thinks little feet are toys! Queso is a friendly guy who is familiar with the kennel (will settle in but is usually kept in an X pen) and leash (still getting handle on the whole "walking" thing). He has some basic training and he can't wait to show off what he knows. With his intelligence and energy, Queso is looking to stay busy and active. Queso will make friends with anyone, especially other dogs, and just wants someone who is willing to provide him everything a growing puppy needs: love, patience, training and of course, cuddles!! Queso is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 6/6/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. He’s actually my brother’s dog, and he’s a sweet boy, but does get aggressive towards some men. Never bitten anyone, but just growls at certain men, but loves women. Gets along well with other dogs. He’s 6 years old. I’ve had him for the last couple weeks because my brother’s wife is pregnant, and Bunga is a big dog who thinks he’s a small dog, and has nearly knocked her over on a couple of occasions, so they’ve made the decision to try to re-home him. Meet Ruthie, a Rottweiler both roughly 10/20/2020. I love all dogs both big and small. I am kind and mellow and love to play with the resident dog, Spur. I am house trained and quiet as my mom works from home. She said I am the perfect dog because I am a good eater, not a barker or runner and sleep all night. I stay close to mom both inside and outside of the home. I love the crate and often sit in the open crate during the day. Mom says I need a family who will be patient with me so I can get acquainted and trust. I am happy to let my mom love me, kiss me, grind my nails, massage my feet and rub my ears. I love attention and belly rubs once I know and trust you. A typical Rottweiler who is loyal to his family. I will be a great family friend but I will need you to allow me to decompress, possibly taking weeks or months before I am my true self. The fun and playful Rottie. When she first arrived, she was scared and unsure with her tail tucked. With strangers, she does still have an initial wariness, but once you are part of her trusted circle, she quickly comes out of her shell. She is a goofy and playful girl who LOVES to cuddle up in your lap, chew on bones and chase balls. Pumpkin is full of affection and gets along great with other dogs. She's also very smart and well-behaved, she's never chewed on anything she's not supposed to, and she's never had a potty accident indoors. She's a pretty quiet girl, but will make noise at appropriate times - which isn't often. She sleeps with the resident dogs at night and happily spends portions of her day quietly in a crate. Pumpkin still has some puppy energy, so she would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. However, as long as she gets daily walks or runs, she'd do just as well without one.
