Story
Meet Josie- a gentle soul ready for her forever home. After surviving a tough past—living outdoors with 13 dogs and losing her home to a fire—she’s now healthy, happy, and craving stability. Josie is a 9-year-old Rottweiler mix who weighs 70 lbs and ready for a calm, loving retirement home. Josie is loyal and affectionate, especially with women—she’s attached to her foster mom like Velcro! She prefers a quiet home without small pets or young kids. With proper introductions, she does well with medium to large dogs. The ideal home would be a low-key, non-active household where Josie can relax and feel safe. She enjoys short, slow walks and peaceful days. After months in foster care, she’s even starting to play with toys! Josie has excellent house manners and never jumps on people. She was heartworm positive when we rescued her, but at her age, the traditional treatment would be too tough on her as they are painful and distressing for the poor dog. SOS has chosen to do the slow kill method with her and we will provide a LIFETIME of medication for her. This might scare some people off but this sweet girl has been through so much and she’s ready for a peaceful, loving home. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will stick by your side like Velcro, Josie is your girl! She is spayed, housebroken and crate trained. Her adoption fee is $50 fully vetted, and we will provide a lifetime of heartworm medication for her to continue to keep the disease at bay. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Our dogs are integrated into their foster homes who can tell you all about them to make the transition into your home informative and supportive. Our first step to adopt is always our online application at saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does NOT claim or guarantee any breeds given in this description. These are best guess descriptions for breed. SOS NEVER ships pets and will not adopt out to a driving radius greater than 3 hours from Medina, Ohio.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi,Marcus Brody here.    For those of you trying to find the husky in me,I don't see it either but my mom did a dna test on me and yep it's in there somewhere. My mom got me from a shelter in Feb. but didn't realize I still had so much puppy still in me.Unfortunately between her working full time and me being too energetic for my older brother she has had to make the hard decision to find me another home that can run out some of my energy.Speaking of running I go on runs with one of her friends and love it.Are you looking for a running partner?I do great with dogs and older kids.My energy is a little too much for younger ones.I love everyone(except cats) and am a big cuddle bug(when I am not being a nosy pup)  Would love an active family that keeps me busy.I am crate trained but only go in for a treat.Who am I kidding I will do anything for a treat. Are you an active family looking for an active boy? Here I am and I am ready for you!Lets meet! Story
Imagine what a beautiful flower arrangement does for the mind and body? It brings a huge smile and lights up everyone’s day for sure! And the fragrance … man, sure does the senses good! Dahlia is that flower ♥️ She is so sweet, so lovely, so lovey and affectionate. Silly and playful too! She is a very friendly pup, always so happy to meet people, after the initial ‘who-are-you bark’. Everyone is a BFF:) She greets you with the biggest smile, flashing her white pearly teeth, the best body wiggles. Don’t mind that she gets rude sometimes and soft slams into you for hugs. She can be just plain goofy! Dahlia loves to play fetch Dahlia style. She chases the ball, picks it up then leaves it on the ground and comes running back to you without the ball :D Dahlia enjoys her evening walks. She is wonderful on a leash. Did someone say car ride? Dahlia hops in the car quicker than you can shake a stick at. Dahlia is a champ in the car. She makes a wonderful copilot. Dahlia is 2 years old, 90lb Rottweiler mix. She is looking for a family who enjoys cuddles with big pups and incorporates her in their family activities. Dahlia has a zest to learn new things and boy, is she a fast learner! Dahlia is wonderful with kids, dogs and cats. Warn kids not to leave tennis balls around. Dahlia thinks tennis balls are tasty treats ☹She is house trained. She sits by the door to indicate she needs to use the bathroom. Dahlia is not for apartment living. She alarm-barks at every sound. She thinks she is a good ‘protector’. Dahlia makes a wonderful companion. She likes to hang out with her humans.

Story
Prince finds himself euth listed, due to a bite history. A bite that was absolutely caused by human error! He is great with other dogs, and was a super sweetheart when they had him out in the play yard. He came from an awful hoarding situation with 28 dogs, most of whom have been adopted out already. He knows basic commands, is about 4 years old, 95 lbs., and would make a perfect new family member with a strong adopter & a quiet home. We can only take him if we can find a foster. Once we find a committed, approved foster, he will be going to our trainer for an assessment. As always, all food, vetting, toys, treats, etc… is covered by our rescue, while under foster. Preference given to foster to adopt.
