Story
Ace is nine years old now, but still has the energy as if he were two or three, I’ve had him since he was six weeks old. I originally got him for my son when he was younger now it’s just me and my wife at the house and we both have a busy schedule And it’s hard to give him the time and attention that he needs he’s a very friendly dog loves to play, loves children and is still full of energy. Just trying to find a nice home for him to go to where he can get the attention that he deserves.

Story
Sweet Josie was a hard nut to crack as we had no background on her beyond knowing she lived with 13 other dogs, mostly outside, before a fire forced her owner out. Scared and not well, Josie needed a lifeline. She has been fixed, is wormed and all up to date on shots. She is crate-trained and housebroken. Now the bad news. Josie is heartworm positive, and always will be. At the ripe old age of 9, SOS has chosen to do the slow kill method with her. We fear at her age the traditional method would be too tough on her. And there is always the possibility of not surviving the treatments at her age as they are very painful and hard on the poor dog. We will provide a lifetime of medication for her to continue to keep the disease at bay. Josie is looking for a non-active, low-key retirement home, preferably not with a lot of young children or people activity. Josie has attached herself to the foster like a Velcro dog. Initially, you may need to work through some of her anxiety with activity and strangers. She does enjoy the peace and quiet. Josie doesn't need strenuous exercise. A simple slow walk in the park or up and down a street is all that is needed. Just enough to keep her active, but not any overexertion. The foster has found that these minimal walks help keep her anxiety level low. She walks very calmly on a leash with no pulling, and knows when you stop walking that she should too. She also loves car rides. While walking in the park, Josie ignores other people and could care less about a dog walking past. After being in foster for two months, Josie still has no interest in toys. She has great house manners – no getting up on furniture or counters, and she does not jump on people. Josie has had a hard life before coming to SOS, and it is now her time to lay back and take it easy. If you are looking for a buddy to hang out on the porch on those summer nights, Josie is your girl! Her adoption fee is $50 fully vetted and we will provide a lifetime of heartworm medication for her to continue to keep the disease at bay. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Story
Say hello to Mowgli!Mowgli is a sensitive 4-year-old Rottweiler/Black Lab mix with a heart of gold. At first, he may be a bit shy and reserved, but give him some time, and you`ll discover a loyal companion who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his favorite people. His favorite pastime is to get on your lap and pretend he`s a lap dog. Mowgli shows potential with other dogs, but he can be nervous initially, so a slow introduction is required to ensure a good fit. With patience and understanding, Mowgli will thrive in a home that appreciates his gentle nature. He would do best in a home with kids aged 13 and up who can respect his sensitivity and help him feel secure. If you`re looking for a devoted, affectionate, and loving friend, Mowgli is ready to find his forever family. Let`s help this wonderful boy find the loving home he deserves! If Mowgli looks too cute to pass up, Give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 803 to learn more about him , or stop by the facility at 752 West Portage Trail, 44313

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Becky is a 2 year old Rottweiler with a heart full of love and a tail that’s always wagging! After finding herself in an overcrowded shelter, Becky was rescued and has since blossomed in her foster home. Now, she’s ready to find her forever family! Becky is a classic velcro dog who adores her humans. Whether it’s snuggling up on the couch or playing a game of fetch (her absolute favorite!), she’s happiest when she’s by your side. Becky also loves to wrestle and run around the yard with her canine foster brothers. Her perfect day? Quality time with her people, play sessions, and plenty of cuddles. Becky has already mastered basic commands like “Sit,” “Down,” “Crate,” “Here,” and “Wait,” and she’s fully potty trained! She would do best with a family who enjoys training and can keep her mind and body active. Becky’s ideal home will have: An active family who can give her plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A fenced yard where she can run and play safely. Fun and respectful canine siblings to wrestle and play with. Becky hasn’t lived with kids and cats, and her high prey drive makes a cat-free home a must. Becky is friendly, affectionate, and loves everyone she meets. The more she heals and settles, the more her bright and energetic personality shines. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion who’s eager to be your best friend, Becky is ready to steal your heart. Story
Oh, my heart be still! One look at this gorgeous hunk and I am smitten. It is hard to take my eyes off him. He is just a fine specimen! And his personality? Let me tell you all about Goliath. This incredibly charming boy is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. He knows just how to look at you with those puppy dog eyes and that handsome face and get away with things. He doesn't know his size but thinks nothing of jumping on you to greet you and to give kisses. And what do you do? You take the hugs and the kisses wholeheartedly because seriously who can say no to that face? If you are sitting on the floor, he may lay on you with his 90lb weight. As much as you are gasping for air, you give in and hug him with all your might because that is what you do when you are gifted with a lush teddy bear! Toys? Boy, does he love toys. He acts like a little kid. He brings you toys and expects you to play with him. He doesn't seem to guard them. He gives a little rumble when he is fully engrossed in the toy, and you approach. Even though it is the Rottie rumble, we still strongly advise you not to remove anything from him without an exchange of another toy or treats. Walks, ugh walks. Goliath is a horrible walker on a leash. He likes to grab his leash to walk himself. Don't try to stop him because at a strong 90lb, he may just yank you down. If you were me, you'd land on your butt with a loud thud and a sore butt. Goliath thinks it is just the funnest thing to do. He then struts around with the leash in his mouth like he is the s*** Talk about a boy with a personality and a half! But no worries, our amazing trainer is working with him on how to walk like a gentleman :) Goliath is wonderful with dogs. He loves them all. Boys, girls, big, small. Doesn’t give 2 s***s if a rowdy dog is screaming at him. He goes about his business like the dog is invisible. Goliath is 4 years old (but acts like he is 6 months old). He is looking for a family who loves to engage in activities with him. Plays, runs, walks, hikes, anything. He is people oriented. He loves to be surrounded by people. If you gush over him, that may give you an edge over the other members of the family :) Goliath is crate trained, appears house trained. He is a grazer. Hardly finished his meals in one setting.
