Story
Say hello to Mowgli! He is a 3 year old Rottweiler mix who weighs 63 pounds. Mowgli is a sweet and affectionate boy who loves spending time with his favorite people. He is still a young pup so he has plenty of energy and is eager to jump up to give you kisses when you enter the room. He enjoys long walks, playing with his toys, and cuddling with you of course! Mowgli does well with most dogs and could make a great playmate to another dog. If there are kids in his forever home they need to be ages 13 and older. Mowgli is a one of a kind boy who will surely bring plenty of love into your life. If Mowgli looks too cute to pass up, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

Story
Uh oh we caught handsome Gio on Tinder. His profile reads: introverted home body seeking introverted home body. The outside world can be scary. I prefer the comfort of home where I can sit and write long novels and do laundry in peace and quiet. I like cuddle sessions on the sofa with my favorite person and enjoy snacking on meatballs (in fact I'm not picky I just love food). A patient and understanding human partner who enjoys couches and food is preferred. Oh, and btw I love playing fetch football, softball, heck I'm not picky, just someone that can keep throwing the ball will do. Dog parks and hikes are too chaotic for me. I like my house. Did I mention that I like being home? I am looking for a home where I can have, I can have an "emotional support human" can show me the ropes of what real life is. Well seeing new situations outside my bubble can be a bit scary even for a big guy like me. Do you have a home with no small kids and maybe a female dog (or no other dogs is fine as well)? If you do, I would love to be your life partner. By the way I am at the shelter but send the awesome foster team at CCAS an email to set up a meet and greet at foster@cuyahogacounty.us I am available for foster or adoption. Love Gio

Story
Meet our lovely girl, Parcha! Parcha is a very sensitive lady who is too smart for her own good! She had been residing in a foster home for the past months, as the kennel life was a bit too overwhelming for her. While in the foster home she proved to do well with the two large breed resident dogs so we feel she would do well with all dogs that are medium size and bigger! She will play nicely or wrestle, pending their preference. Our sweet girl is listed as no cats or small dogs though at this time. Parcha would absolutely thrive with a similar sized dog friend in her new home. She is a quick learner, listens well, was completely housebroken in her foster home, and loves toys and naps alike. Parcha is specifically looking for a quiet home with no children as new, loud, crazy situations make her very nervous. If you are interested in learning more about Parcha reach out to foster@cuyahogacounty.us for more information.

Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Pike was an owner surrender to a veterinary clinic after being found tied up outside with a sign attached saying "Someone take this dog". Pike will do best in an active household where he can get a lot of walks/runs and excercise; he loves to play, walks well on leash and is crate trained. He requires a fenced-in yard & would even benefit from daycare a few days a week! He is currently being housed by the veterinarian/staff where he was surrendered to & he enjoys playing with their two dogs. He will chase cats. He will be fully vaccinated and is heartworm negative/neutered. If you would like more information on this beautiful boy, please email olivia@thegentlevetdvm.com for more information. We are unsure how Pike is with children. This is a courtesy post .

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Reggie. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 75 lbs. My friend Mr. Big and I were dropped off here at the pound after hours, so nobody really knows our back story. We've both been super sweet, good boys since making our way in to the pound. I have been good around the other dogs I've met since coming into the pound. I have not been around cats yet, but a cat test can be done if you need to know if I am okay around cats or not. I seem to have been a house dog before making my way into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
