Story
Bennington is a Sharpei mix weighing about 65 pounds. As many Sharpeis do, he had some issues with his eye lids and had surgery to correct that while in rescue. All went very well and he's fully healed and ready to see the world. Bennington is a wonderful dog! He's happy-go-lucky, loving and very loyal. He's house trained and has been a joy to be around in his foster home. He's very well behaved. He's athletic and strong and would love to go on hikes and walks with you. Camping also sounds like fun! We think he would be happiest as your one and only pet. Bennington is neutered, vet checked, current on vaccines, licensed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. Contact Carrie On Rescue if you have any questions about Bennington or would like an application for him: email: carrieonrescuers@hotmail.com text: (480) 603-7680 Please note: we only do adoptions within the state of Arizona.

Link to Betty's Video! https://youtu.be/lOKEdixfltA In need of a 50 lb ball of furry sunshine to brighten your days? Betty White is your girl! This lovely lady enjoys spending her days sunbathing, receiving belly rubs, and playing with her foster siblings. She plays fair and would prefer an environment of animals her size that are just as friendly as she. Small dogs and cats might not be able to handle all her beauty and fun, so it’s best her future owners have friends her size. In a safe and loving home, this sweet girl will fill your days with laughter and fun-loving splendor. Betty White is ready for her new home as she is housebroken, and thrilled to learn new skills with her new family.  In the times where she’s had her fill of playing outdoors, this big baby would love to rest right by your side ready for tummy rubs or treats (which she takes so gently)! Once properly introduced to her new family, Betty White you’ll keep wondering how such an amazing spirit joined your family.   Once properly introduced, she does GREAT with another playful dog (see her video of playing in the yard!  https://youtu.be/lOKEdixfltA ). She is not good with cats or smaller dogs but would do great with submissive dog or as an only dog.  How can you not fall in love with that grin? *Special needs/ongoing medical care: Betty tested for low levels of valley fever, she is on daily medication (Fluconozole) for this and is due for retesting soon to see if she can be taken off the medication. Story
Sweet, Shy, and Ready for a New Beginning Fostering in Tucson, AZ Rosie's a bit shy at first, but this girl survived weeks as a stray out in the desert so this girl is a survivor so don’t let her shy temperament fool you she has the heart of a lion. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet and inquisitive nature shines through. She loves to explore her surroundings and is fantastic with other dogs. In fact, she would likely thrive in a home with a canine companion to help boost her confidence and show her the ropes. Her crate is her comfort zone, making her an easy fit for a home uses a crate or looking for a dog who feels safe and secure in one. &#226&#156&#168 Petite Shar Pei &#226&#156&#168 Crate trained &#226&#156&#168 Gorgeous fawn brush coat &#226&#156&#168 Healthy ears (a rare find in a stray!)   Rosie prefers women to men.  She is fine with men, but more aloof and would likely do better with a woman as her primary owner.   She would also like an enclosed yard, because she is shy pottying on a leash.   She loves walks, but is more of a run from than run to when off leash, so bear in mind she may not be ideal for off leash activities (unless you enjoy a good game of chase). If you’re looking for a Shar Pei with a smaller frame and a big heart, this girl might be the perfect match. She’s got the gentle soul of a survivor, and she’s more than ready to start her next chapter—with you. Could you be the safe, loving home she’s been waiting for?  January 30, 2026, 6:48 pm

Story
Sweetie is the cutest little dumpling! She has the most gorgeous sable brush coat. She is coming from a home with 10 other Shar pei and a Yorkie so we know she is great with other dogs big and small. She is absolutely the perfect house guest. She is housetrained and literally walks around wagging her tail.  This girl is up for any adventure and jumps right in the car and settles down.    Don’t mind her squinty eyes. She is having her eye job (Entropion surgery) next week. She is so excited to see the world through some rose colored glasses.    She has garnered fans wherever she goes. She is definitely a head turner with her bouncy personality and good looks. This girl is also up for lots of snuggles and will jump up looking for some love but she is so little it’s more cute than annoying  She is fostering in Tucson AZJanuary 26, 2026, 11:20 pm

Story
We moved into an apartment complex that dont allow her breed as a boxer. Shes the sweetest girl, is super patient with kids, and LOVES cuddles & seriously she practically wants to be in your shirt 😂. She has all her shots and is fixed as well as a chip. She was abandoned so we dont want to make her feel as though we are leaving her behind in a shelter. No fees, we just want a good family or care giver to give her the love she deserves

Story
Hi there, future family! My name is Lafonda, and oh boy, do I have a tail&#226&#128&#145wagging story to tell you. I’ve been waiting a long time to share it with the special humans who will someday call me their own. Maybe—just maybe—that’s you. I’m about four years old, which means I’ve got the perfect mix of youthful pep and grown&#226&#128&#145up charm. Back in June of 2025, I was picked up as a stray in Yuma. I don’t remember much about how I ended up on my own, but I do remember how relieved I was when kind people scooped me up and kept me safe. I spent some time at the pound there, dreaming of the day someone would walk in, point at me, and say, “That’s the one.” It didn’t happen then… but that’s okay, because my journey wasn’t over. Now I’m living my best temporary life at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and let me tell you—I’m soaking up all the love, treats, and playtime I can get. Still, every night when I curl up to sleep, I imagine what it will feel like to finally have a forever home. A place where I can stretch out on a soft bed, chase toys across the yard, and follow my humans around like the loyal shadow I’m destined to be. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room—or rather, the bald spot on my head. Yep, I’ve got one! When I was found, I had a wound there, but it’s all healed up now. The hair just never grew back, so I rock a permanent little shiny patch. Personally, I think it adds character. Some dogs have fancy markings; I have a built&#226&#128&#145in conversation starter. It makes me unique, memorable, and honestly kind of adorable. I’m all up to date on my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. That part is really important to me. After spending who&#226&#128&#145knows&#226&#128&#145how&#226&#128&#145long wandering alone, the idea of always being connected to my people feels like the warmest, safest hug. Now, let’s get to the fun stuff—my personality. If you’re looking for a couch potato, I’m probably not your girl. I’m an active, playful, goofy, boxer&#226&#128&#145mix bundle of energy. I love to run, jump, wiggle, and especially play fetch. Oh, fetch. My absolute favorite. Throw the ball once, and I’ll think you’re neat. Throw it twice, and I’ll think you’re amazing. Throw it three times, and I’ll love you forever. I adore people. Hanging out with humans is one of my top hobbies. Whether you’re relaxing, working in the yard, or just wandering around the house, I’m happiest when I’m part of the action. I’m loyal, affectionate, and always ready to brighten your day with a tail wag or a goofy grin. I do need to mention one thing: I’m not good with cats. I know, I know—they’re cute and fluffy, but something about them just gets me too excited. So a cat&#226&#128&#145free home would be best for everyone involved. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring joy, laughter, and endless enthusiasm into your life, I think we might be a perfect match. I’ve been waiting since last summer for my forever family to find me. Maybe you’re the one who will finally say, “Come on, Lafonda. Let’s go home.” If you’d like to meet me—and I really hope you do—please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here, tail wagging, ready to greet you with all the love I’ve been saving up. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
