Oh Chubbs. This big man lives up to his names and he means business; his absolute main priority is food all the time. He can resource gaurd his food from other dogs so no other dogs or food completely seperated from any furry siblings will be necessary! He does like to play with other dogs but displays a lot of dominant body language which can be off putting to some dogs so he will require a meeting or 2 with any future siblings preferably submissive female that will accept this big goody hunk as he is. His age and breed are unknown but he seems around middle aged and is a chunky 70lbs!!! He has spent a lot of his life in a kennel before coming to lolas and needs someone understanding that will handle any possible behaviors he may display in a home environment that we don't see at the shelter. At home you can find me in my crate napping, or taking up most of the couch. I love sitting with my humans in the evening. I get really excited around humans I know, and often jump up for a hug at the door. My humans keep me away from people under 10 for this reason. Hikes are like walks but better. I get very excited and will pull you all the way up a mountain. I’m okay off leash and typically come back when called. I could still use some training but I get distracted sniffing everything in the woods. I love strangers. I seem to get a lot of compliments when I’m out and about. I love meeting other dogs and playing with them. Inside I only bark if I really need something. It is usually because I need to go outside, or my water bowl is empty. I am a bit messy. Especially when I eat and drink. My slobber will get on furniture, carpets, clothes, and everything else you own. My humans don’t seem to mind, but others might. I come with my crate and bed, as well as a month supply of food.

This is a courtesy post for Bubba's people: This is Bubba, he arrived at our home in February from a rescue in Wyoming that saved him from a dire situation in Colorado. Abandoned in a motel room, Bubba was very neglected having lost most of his hair and suffering from redness, swelling, itchiness, and pain. I have worked with local vets to successfully treat him and bring him back to health. Bubba is an incredibly loving and well-behaved dog, it's now time to find him a forever and loving home. He still takes Apoquel 2x daily and gets medicated baths every other week. Bubba is a sweet dog who sleeps with me every night and has been great with our other female dogs, cats, and kids. Bubba would be best in a home without other male dogs. He is estimated to be around 2 years old. It's very important to have knowledge with this breed as they can have health issues that require long term care. They are extremely protective of their family.
