Story
Mochi is the absolute SWEETEST dog in the world  She was at a local shelter with her babies.  Of course they got adopted and Mochi was going to be sent to a Vet School to live in a cage for 6 months while students experimented on her.  We heard about her plight and just  had to save her.  She ONLY wants love.  She leans in and on and abywhere she can to get by you.  So very loving.  We adore her and you will too.  She is great witih other dogs and children as well.  Love comes from all ages and she wants it...precious girl! ##2812264##

Story
Scrappy, about 50 lbs About me: My wrinkles may be minimal, but my heart is huge. I'm playful, affectionate, and always down to make new dog friends or join a game in the yard. But my real love language? Finding the coziest heated blanket in the house and melting into it like the snuggle champion I am. I'll happily switch between playmate and professional cuddle buddy — whatever you need. My résumé: House trained ✅ Know sit, lay down, stay, and leave it ✅ Great with kids ✅ Self-appointed security guard — I take 'protect and serve' seriously and have been known to hop the child gate to greet visitors myself, especially new ones. (The gardeners are still on my watch list, sorry not sorry.) A few honest quirks, because I believe in full transparency on the first date: I pull a little on the leash (working on it). Car rides aren't my favorite — I'll whine the whole way, but I'm otherwise a good passenger. Thunderstorms make me nervous. Baths make me an Olympic sprinter, so we've switched to waterless ones. I can be crated, but I don't really enjoy it and tend to rub my nose. Lately I've just been hanging out loose on dog beds in the living room (and sneaking onto the big bed at night — don't tell). Looking for: Someone who'll keep a close eye on me (I'll be doing the same for you), doesn't mind a co-pilot who narrates every car ride, and has unlimited compliments about how handsome I am. Bonus points for belly rubs. Swipe right and fill out an adoption application if you're ready to be loved fiercely and guarded loyally.  Fostering in the greater Dallas areaAugust 19, 2026, 5:48 pm

Story
Meet Aggie, a 6-year-old, 34-pound Shar Pei with a soft heart hidden beneath those beautiful wrinkles. Aggie is naturally timid and unsure about new people, but if you sit quietly with her, she slowly begins to trust—offering gentle kisses and allowing pets. She’s a curious girl who likes to quietly follow her humans around the house, making her a sweet, silent shadow during daily activities. Aggie would thrive with a confident canine companion who can help show her that people are safe. She’s beginning to explore toys, and we think she’ll discover her playful side with a little more time.Aggie also has some classic “wrinkly dog” skin sensitivities and will need an owner who can help her care for her coat and keep her comfortable. This tender-hearted girl just needs patience, love, and stability to truly shine.Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Story
I’m the longest resident at the shelter, since February 2025. When I first arrived, I was underweighting and had a pretty bad skin infection. I’m now receiving treatment and an special diet to help me feel my very best and I’m currently in a foster home where I’m getting the love and care I deserve. I’m a very sweet, playful boy who’s ready to find a forever home that will love and take care of me.  I’m mostly indifferent just a little shy around cats. More than anything, I want a family who will give me the security, kindness, and fun I’ve been waiting so long for.” Mason is currently in a foster home please call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more and schedule a meet and greet with him!August 20, 2026, 1:49 pm

Story
Meet Lancel! Lancel was part of a breeder dumping situation in Big Sandy Texas. She is an almost 4 year old Shar Pei mix. Even with the trauma of being dumped Lancel is quite the character. She somehow has the energizer bunny living in her body. She wakes up to play and like most children, she tries to skip bedtime to play. She loves a good meal and she loves having others four legged friends to share a meal with. Humans, she is getting use to. She treats humans much like a cat would. She will come over for a little petting behind the ears but when she’s done, she’s done. This beautiful character will amaze you with her quick reflexes and her desire to earn treats. You will fall in love with her. There’s just no way you couldn’t.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Wren is a happy-go-lucky boxer. Loving pretty much everything and everyone this sweet girl loves cacoons and dens, hanging out with her buddies (people and dogs), and eating snacks (who doesn't?). She is constant need of attention, but much like the boxer she is, she is very independant.  Wren was in a home, the owner was no longer capable of giving Wren the love and attention she needed. When she arrived here she sprinted around the yard, so excited to run around. She goes out with one buddy at the moment but we expect she does well with most dogs. Previous owner said she does well with dogs, cats, and children. We have not seen her around cats, but we know she does well with little kids.  She is house trained, does well on leash, and is attentive to people. She would do well in homes where she can get attention and plenty of time to be mentally stimulated or room to run!   ##1666551##

Story
Charlie is an amazing sweet boy whose family was hit twice hard. His daddy survived COVID then diagnosed with severe dementia. Charlie loved his daddy even when things were getting worse and he started feeding him potting soil!  Charlie was patient and was still an amazing boy even when his tummy grumbled. The family then stepped in to make sure Charlie would be taken care of until they found a rescue.    Charlie is used to being loved on and has both playful and cuddly sides. He loves meeting new people, He loves empty milk jugs smashed down. He loves chasing sticks when you throw them. He's easy to please and entertain. He pushes kids toy trucks around the yard. While he's playful outside he also wants to sit in the recliner with his best friend and watch a movie.   Charlie is looking for his forever family that will encourage his playfulness and give him a solid home. Hes good with children but he may knock little ones over by accident. He loves to play with other dogs when properly introduced.  He really likes the cats too!!  As of 4/3/21, he's been neutered and vaccinated for rabies, DHPPv, and bordatella. He is heartworm negative, and he is microchipped.   ##1063237##
