Female, 7 months, 30 lbs Bibi is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know the dog better. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Are you looking at my ears? WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: Hello! My name is Shiva, and I'm happy to be here and tell you a bit about me. I was brought into another welfare organization in Washington, DC, in July 2023 by nice animal control officers after I was found wandering the streets. I was underweight and had a skin condition, but the vets there nursed me back to health. I'm now a healthy 45 pounds, very energetic, and getting used to trusting humans again. I have been in foster and have grown a lot in my time out of the shelter. I am still quite shy at first, but after getting to know people, I really open up and show my very loving, playful and goofy personality. While I am an adult lady, I have a lot of energy, am silly and playful at times, and LOVE the outdoors. I light up on walks, especially in the park, and love running around and being playful with my foster mom. If you have a nice yard that I can run and play in, I would love that! I also love nice long walks where you can be patient with me as I sniff (a lot). Because of my past, I am scared by sudden, loud noises, so I would really prefer a quiet home, perhaps outside the city so there are fewer sirens and other loud noises. I may be ok with other dogs, but my foster mom thinks I might prefer to be queen of my own castle. I currently live with two adult male cats. My energy and playfulness is not always well-received by them, but I don't show any aggression towards them, just playfulness. A home with cats may work for me, but my new family would have to be willing to go slow with introductions. I am a true love, who is looking for a soft place to land after a rough go of it. Once you earn my trust, I will be very loving and loyal. I'd love to be with a forever family that loves me for all I am and treats me like a princess. ATTRIBUTES: Shiva has lived in foster with cats and done well. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Pisa is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: A mix of absolute perfection, you can't help but fall in love with Pisa's smooshy face and adorably clumsy nature. She's been known to bonk her nose a few times when excitedly turning around after you before shaking it off and continuing to follow after you. Part of her excitement with life is that she loooves to sniff. She loves old and new smells, but will plop onto the ground when she's decidedly satisfied with her sniffing accomplishments. The only exception to her sniffing is seemingly other dogs and people, of which she has little care for on walks. She knows she's your main girl and that's enough for her to ignore any passerby of human or animal kind. In the home, she may be a little hesitant at first, but quickly warms to invite pets and affection. If you want a dirty dog that tracks mud through your house, Pisa may not be your girl. She is not a fan of wet grass or mud, and will only stoop down to touching wet grass if there is business that needs attending to. BEWARE this wrinkly-faced monster will... continuously lick your fingers. That's right, day or night if she wants attention, to play, or just wants to show you just how much she loves you, she can, and will, take it out on your fingers. She also will, and has, quickly picked up new routines like using staircases, waiting for her food, and being the sweetest and most well-behaved girl you'll ever meet. ATTRIBUTES: Pisa does well with other dogs. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Pup Briggs (BRI0224SOPMD)Estimated Breed:  Shar Pei MixApproximate Age:  6 Months Approximate Weight:  30 LBS Currently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Meet Pup Briggs, the adorable Shar Pei Mix with a heart of gold! At just 4 months old and weighing approximately 30 pounds, Briggs is a bundle of joy waiting to bring endless love and happiness into your life. Briggs is the epitome of sweetness. His playful nature is infectious, and he's always up for a game of fetch or a romp in the yard. But what he loves most of all is cuddling up with his favorite humans. This little snuggle bug will melt your heart with his affectionate nature and warm cuddles. While Briggs is still learning the ropes, he's eager to please and is already catching on to potty training. Walking on a leash is a new concept for him, but with a little patience and guidance, he'll soon master it like a pro. While he can be a bit barky at times, he's surprisingly quiet when cozy in his crate, making him a considerate roommate. Briggs has a special fondness for other dogs and would thrive in a home with a furry sibling to play with. And while he enjoys indoor snuggles, he also needs a yard where he can stretch his legs and explore to his heart's content.  Update: Briggs has had his eye surgery and is looking very handsome! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Meet APRIL! April is a gorgeous, 3-4 year old, female Sharpei mix. This gal is sweet, friendly, and lovable. This tail wagging pup loves to get pets, is learning how to play, and also settles down nicely -- April can chill comfortably when you are busy with your work. She has great house manners and would be fine in apartments/condos as well as houses; she would be great with a single person, couple, or family with older children (e.g., 8 or above). April is smart, and LOVES to go for walks. Poor April found herself in a rural overcapacity shelter! No one came to look for her! She is so happy that PetConnect has come to her rescue to find a forever family that will give her the attention that she deserves and never end up in such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Unfortunately, April arrived to PetConnect extremely obese and has been on a steady weight reduction plan; she has made great progress -- already losing 10 pounds, and will need to continue so that she can get to a healthy weight of 45-50 pounds! April would love to curl up with you to hang out on a cool spring night; she loves to get pets! She would be an excellent new member of the family! April is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and eager to find a family to love! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving applicants is a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** April is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at kinstondogs@verizon.net **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion. ##1972866##

Story
Rebel is a 6-year-old male Shar-Pei/English Bulldog mix with a heart full of love. He's looking for a new forever home in Hagerstown, Maryland, following the passing of his beloved owner. Rebel is a loyal and affectionate companion who would thrive in a calm and understanding environment. Key Information: Age: 6 years old Breed: Shar-Pei/English Bulldog mix Neutered: Not neutered Compatibility: Rebel is best suited for a home without small kids or male dogs, as he had a rough experience with young children in his previous home. Cat Alert: Rebel may chase cats if he spots them in the yard, so a cat-free environment would be ideal. Health: Up to date on shots and house trained. Rebel's life has seen some recent changes, with the loss of his owner and his current caregiver preparing for hip and knee surgeries. This sweet boy is in need of a loving family to provide the stability and care he deserves. If you're interested in opening your heart and home to Rebel, please reach out to Danny at 240-675-9090. Your kindness could make all the difference in Rebel's world. Let's find this loyal companion the safe and loving forever home he deserves. ***Disclaimer*** Unfortunately, there are not enough rooms at the inn to admit every dog that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those dogs (and cats) on their journey! By courtesy posting, AAHA is offering our website/network as an additional resource to help an owner or shelter gain additional exposure for the dog they are trying to place. AAHA has not met nor evaluated the dog (or cat) we are courtesy posting. AAHA makes no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health and temperament and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the caretaker of the pet and the potential adopter.May 7, 2024, 5:18 pm

Story
We have a special boy to introduce to the families and couples out there wanting a truly special older pup that is totally trained and waiting to love you to pieces. True Blue Toby is a 10 month old Boxer mix puppy that was found as a stray and not in the best shape.  In fact he looked terrible and we felt so bad for this boy to have suffered for so many months.  Once he came to our care we got to work on clearing up hair loss and getting him healthy from those pesky intestinal worms and putting good weight on him.  Gosh Toby is the best boy with a wonderful personality that embraces everyone with love and the anticipation to become steadfast friends.  Shy at first, this boy has blossomed and is Mr. Outgoing in every way.  He just wants to hang out with his humans and love them with full gratitude for making him such a healthy boy.  Housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with other dogs and cats, he is the truly total package if you are looking for a medium sized dog.  He is going to be a 50 pound adult and what a handsome Boxer mix boy he is turning in to.   Email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue :   ccrnewengland@gmail.com   We know will be glad you considered this boy as your very own. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 7, 2024, 9:26 pm
