Story
We adopted Laika and her sister Sookie, who is also listed about 2 years ago. The sisters had thier territory issues, but all in all are very loving. We list about the unknown as far as getting along with other dogs due to being a bit territorial. We are in need of rehoming due to our newborn and the dogs jealousy makes us afraid. They are loving and sweet. Very good with our cat that helped raise them. It saddens us to rehome, but we have found this necessary.

These pups are in Richardson, Texas too!

Story
Hi, I’m Joey! I’m a sweet, smiling cuddlebug who just loves being around people. I’m completely potty and crate trained, and while I might get a little jumpy in my kennel, once I’m outside, I’m calm and happy. I adore attention, love going on walks, and can’t wait to find a patient family who will let me shine. Thunderstorms and loud noises can spook me, but with your love, I know I’ll feel safe. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate best friend and someone you can watch some Netflix I’m your guy!  Personality & Traits: Training: Completely potty-trained and crate-trained Home Life: Lived with adults, a 6-year-old child, and another dog; crated when left alone With Dogs: Bossy but playful; loves to wrestle With Kids: Playful With Cats: Never met one With People: Affectionate, social butterfly, very attached Personality: Cuddlebug, couch potato, needy but sweet Leash Skills: Walks well, easy on the leash Favorite Things: Attention, time outdoors, walks, and snuggles Call the shelter at 972-744-4480 or email AskRichardsonAnimalServices@cor.gov to learn more.September 15, 2025, 2:27 pm

Story
Meet Teddy – Young, Curious, and Full of Energy Teddy is a 9-month-old female who’s eager to learn and ready to explore the world around her. She’s still a puppy at heart—full of curiosity, energy, and love to give. She previously lived with adults and a teenager but didn’t share a home with other pets. When left alone, Teddy stays in a crate and may whine at first, but she settles once she feels secure. Personality: Playful, curious, and affectionate once she feels comfortable Training: Knows “sit,” “gentle,” “down,” and even “jump” (especially if treats are involved!) Likes: Belly rubs, walks, and sniffing everything in sight Quirks: Doesn’t like having her paws or mouth touched Social life: Gets excited when meeting new people; has been unpredictable with other dogs and hasn’t met cats yet Teddy would thrive in a home that understands young dogs and can give her structure, patience, and lots of positive guidance. She’s a smart, loving pup who just needs someone to help her continue growing into the amazing companion she’s meant to be.
