Story
Meet Alanna, 6 months old and 48 pounds from our Irish Litter.
Alanna has settled into home life beautifully and is a wonderful companion. She loves toys, playing with her dog friend Archie, and spending time with the kids, but she also bonds very closely with her people. While she’s great with children of all ages, we think she’d be especially happy with an active individual or younger couple looking for a dog to include in their daily adventures.
She loves car rides, enjoys going places, and looks forward to morning or evening walks when the weather is cooler. She isn’t afraid of the pool but has no interest in swimming, and she doesn’t venture upstairs. She enjoys running around the yard, chasing balls, and still has plenty of fun puppy energy.
She does well with most dogs and enjoys canine companionship. She may bark at an occasional dog but generally takes her cues from the other dog’s energy. Around cats, she’s more curious than aggressive and would likely do best with a confident, dog-savvy cat if introduced properly.
Alanna is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and uses a bell on the door to let you know when she needs to go outside. Although she’s with her family most of the day, she has done very well when left home during a workday.
She has never met a stranger and genuinely loves people. If you’re looking for a dog who is playful, loyal, affectionate, cuddly, and full of personality, she may be your perfect match.

ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!

Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.
Must be home more than not.
Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.
Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.
Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.
Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.
Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.
Must have a secure fence if in a house.
All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.
DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.
