Meet Sam! This gorgeous 91 lbs, gentle & sweet 4 1/2 years old boy is looking for his forever people to provide endless tummy rubs. He knows basic commands, good on a leash and good in the car. Sam's hobbies are playing "fetch" and keep away from the ball handler, wading in the kiddie pool and dips in the pond on his fosters fur friends. He lives with other dogs & is calm. He does love his people so someone who is home more than not would be preferred. He hasn't been introduced to the resident kitties but we will be testing him soon. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. Sarah Is Available For Adoption! This beautiful girl was pregnant & homeless when she was rescued. Thankfully, she delivered her puppies in a loving foster home. She was an attentive mommy dog to her babies. They've all found their forever homes & she's been spayed.. now it's her turn! Sarah will be a wonderful companion to a lucky someone who adopts her. Sarah is easygoing & very, very sweet. She adores kids & belly rubs. She's fully housetrained & not familiar with being crated. When meeting someone new, she prefers to observe them from a distance at first. Once she feels safe, she's very affectionate. Sometimes, she jumps up when she's happy to greet someone. Her foster family is working on helping her remember not to. Since sudden movements frighten her, older kids would be the best fit. She's a snuggler & she often thinks she's a little lap dog.
