🎃ADOPT WOOKIE🎃
Hi everybody, my name is Wookie and I’m a 10 lb. male Shih Tzu mix (best guess), about 18 months old. I know it may seem like a weird name, but if you are into Star Wars you would understand. With my cute little underbite and beautiful big eyes, I look a little bit like Chewbacca. If you really do not like it, I’d be OK with you changing my name to something you like better. Either way, I am cute as a button, always a very happy boy and as content as can be keeping your feet warm while you are cooking your dinner.
I have been doing pretty well with my house training, but am still a puppy with a small bladder. So, making sure I get put outside to go potty regularly will make you and me both happy campers. When home alone I currently hang out with my foster brother and sister. My mom tried to put me in a crate, but I wanted nothing to do with that thing. I will eat in there and maybe hang out for a few minutes, but I really just want to be near my humans. Ideally, I’d love to end up in a home where someone is home with me quite a bit.
Speaking of being with humans, I don’t really understand the whole personal space concept. I want to be as close to you as possible. I also hope you’re open to me being near you at nighttime, as I really don’t like being by myself at night. My preference is to cuddle right up next to you in bed at night. I promise I don’t take up much space, and I don’t really move around much.
I definitely need some training. When it comes to my walk, I don’t really understand what that long thing is that gets attached to my collar. I’ve heard it called a leash, but I have no idea what I’m supposed
to do when it’s attached to my collar. I’m learning though. I am very smart, and I am picking things up pretty quickly in my foster home. Along with some training, I probably could use a little socializing and patience. I was a little sheltered growing up, and can be a little skittish around things when first exposed to something. However, one of my amazing traits is that I can be groomed very easily and really don’t mind being brushed or having my eyes cleaned so I will be very easy to keep looking super dapper.
As I mentioned earlier, I am still young and still have a few puppy tendencies. So far, I think I’ve stayed out of trouble for the most part, but I do like my chew toys and bones. You may want to make sure I have plenty of those, or I may end up chewing something I’m not supposed to. It wouldn’t be on purpose; I just don’t know any better. But I do love to play! I guess I’m quite entertaining when I do my zoomies in the house as my foster mom just cracks up laughing. Oh, I hope you have some of those small squeaky tennis balls at your house. If you throw those for me, I love to run after them. I even bring them back so you can throw them again. I told you I was pretty smart. And I’m not picky, I’d love to run and chase them in a nice little yard outside, but I’m just as content to chase them in the house.
I’d say I’m a mellow happy little munchkin who’s ready to go into my permanent home to give lots of kisses and cuddles, so if you think I would be the perfect companion, please fill out an application as I can’t wait until the day we can be best buddies and I am finally in my forever home. I also hope you’re open to me being near you at night time, as I really don’t like being by myself at night. My preference is to cuddle next to you at night. I promise I don’t take up much space, and I don’t really move around much.
I have been vet checked, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, am up to date on routine shots including rabies and have been treated with flea & heartworm prevention.
