Kaylee's loving owner has to go into assisted living and cannot bring her with. She needs an adopter by the end of February. Kaylee's owner been a client with our partner vet for a very long time and has always taken wonderful care of her dogs. Her heart is broken that she has to do this. Kaylee does have a history of a heart murmur, calcium oxylate crystal (on a preventive diet) and proteinuria (on daily med for this). She's a sweet girl who deserves to live the rest of her life out with a wonderful, loving family. We are looking for a family in the Chicago south suburbs who may be willing to visit Kaylee's surrendering mom.

Dusty is an adorable 3-year-old special needs Shih Tzu. He was abandoned in our lobby by his owner, without saying a word. He was so confused as to what was going on, but he slowly began to trust. Dusty was so heavily matted we could barely see him, but when the veterinarians shaved his fur, they noticed his left eye had glaucoma. His eye was removed and he is recovering in his foster home. Missing one eye has not slowed him down. He is very inquisitive of everything around him. This poor guy needs a stable and patient home where he can learn that people are good and he’s going to be taken care of forever.

Meet Maximus! Maximus was transferred in from another shelter, so we don't have any background information. Maximus is a very sweet munchkin that enjoys to play dress up! He is treat motivated and knows the basic command of sit. He is a special care adoption because he was diagnosed with glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease where the pressure within the eye becomes elevated, leading to significant pain and blindness. Because of this, he is now a pirate with one eye. He will need extra supervision when being outside due to having limited vision. But this does not stop his curiosity and his will to find some treats. Meet Bobby! He is estimated to be about 3 years old, weighs 13.5 lbs, and is a low-shedding shih-tzu/terrier mix. He’s white with tan spots and gray ears. Bobby is a big-time cuddler. While he’s not quite comfortable being picked up yet, he’ll happily crawl into your lap when you sit down. He’s still settling in and tends to be quiet and observant. He follows his foster mom around the house but is becoming comfortable enough to lounge independently on the couch or bed. We believe he would do ok with children. He can be cautious around new people though and may need some time and patience to adjust. He is crate trained and getting the hang of potty training. He is starting to notify his foster mom when he needs to go out. Bobby is very agile and can jump quite high, so he could easily escape a gated or penned area. He is doing okay in a crate and walks well on a leash. He isn’t playing with toys yet, and squeaky toys definitely aren’t his thing. He’s a good boy and doesn’t resist when being brushed. Bobby is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Bobby is a sweet boy who is ready to find a loving forever home where he can truly shine. Bear is an adorable male Shih Tzu/Lhasa Terrier mix with a DOB of approximately 12/17/25. This sweet boy had a rough start — he, his parents and his brother were sadly left behind when their owner moved away. Unfortunately, his brother passed away before being transported to our rescue. Thankfully, Bear's wonderful mama, Lola, has taken amazing care of him every step of the way. Now Bear is ready to find his very own forever family!
