Meet Applebees! She is a 7 year old, 8 pound, Shih Tzu! Applebees is friendly with other small dogs and, after some initial nervousness, she does alright with kiddos and strangers! This little munchkin loves to have her cheeks and ears rubbed. She is a curious girl who is trying to learn how to be a dog, so she sniffs every nook and cranny of her foster home! She likes to spend time with her crate and she is working on other training, like walking on a leash and pottying outside. Since this is all mew to her, she will need a fenced yard in her forever homer and her forever family will need to continue her training! She is hoping to find a family who will be calm, gentle, and patient with her as she continues learning about being a beloved pup. She'd do well with a canine sibling, but she'd probably love to get all the attention, too! Applebees will surely lure you in with her giant eyes and her little stubby legged waddle :) If you're looking for a sweet, adorable, tiny pup, Applebees may be the perfect pup for you! Meet Ellie Mae! At just under 20 pounds, this four-year-old peanut packs A LOT of punch into her tiny body. A Shih Tzu mix whose personality is best described as a pinch of sugar and a cup of spice. One minute she's curled up on your lap batting her baby brown eyes at you, and the next she's huddled in the corner plotting world domination while showing off her prison tattoos to strangers. In the home, Ellie is house broken, crate trained, and extremely smart and playful. But if not given proper boundaries, however, this little Napoleon will try to rule the roost. An ideal home would be one where she is given equal parts love, affection, rules, boundaries, and leadership. Ellie thinks of herself as the Queen Bee. When she doesn't get her way, she can become snappy. For this reason, an adult only home would be required. As for other dogs... Ellie doesn't seem to mind them. A home with or without another furry sibling would be okay. In addition, a cat test can be arranged if requested. Meet Tinker! She is guessed to be about 4 years old and weighs 10.5 lbs. She is a really sweet girl who will make a great companion. She's sweet, well-behaved, and lovable. She rides well in the car and does wonderful on walks. She would love her own fenced in yard with grass to roam and play in. She does have some narrowing of spaces between her vertebrae, Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). It will be important to ensure she does not jump on or off furniture, does not engage in high impact activities, or activities which could cause back strain- like sudden changes of direction, and that she maintains a healthy weight. Complications with IVDD can lead to paralysis and incontinence, so it is best to manage and prevent any back strain. Because of the IVDD she does have a slightly abnormal gait, but she gets around with no issues right now. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org.
