Once all that heavy fur was shaved away, a happy, bouncy, playful little guy emerged - and he hasn’t looked back since! Now that he’s feeling good, Winston is: -Energetic and full of life -Super friendly with people -Dog-friendly and ready for a buddy -Small enough (12 lbs!) to fit just about anywhere He would likely do well with most families who are ready for a young pup with zoomies, curiosity, and lots of love to give. Story
Hi, we are Biggie (brown) Major (black) and Frankie (golden). We were born November 9th to parents that were also puppies (1 year old). We were not aware our female puppy was pregnant and by the time we realised it was too late to interfere. We believe that she gave birth prematurely. She had a litter of 8 and only 4 survived. The 3 male puppies pictured above are unable to walk. We thought they were delayed but at this point we think they may be permanently disabled or need a lot of physical therapy. We were able to rehome the 4th white female puppy. We later found out from the new owners that she is deaf. She is all white with blue eyes and the vet advised that this is merle, a gene disorder. We also found out the father puppy has a gene disorder as he has one blue eye. Ultimately we are unable to give them the care that they deserve. We cannot afford to get the help they need and would be grateful if they could be placed in a loving home as they really are sweet boys.

Dusty is an adorable 3-year-old special needs Shih Tzu. He was abandoned in our lobby by his owner, without saying a word. He was so confused as to what was going on, but he slowly began to trust. Dusty was so heavily matted we could barely see him, but when the veterinarians shaved his fur, they noticed his left eye had glaucoma. His eye was removed and he is recovering in his foster home. Missing one eye has not slowed him down. He is very inquisitive of everything around him. This poor guy needs a stable and patient home where he can learn that people are good and he’s going to be taken care of forever.

Meet Our Rookie: Charlie This 4-year-old Shih Tzu weighs in at about 14 pounds of pure affection and is the definition of a devoted little companion. His favorite place in the world? Right on your lap, soaking up attention and returning it with endless love. He’s a calm, quiet guy in the locker room and prefers a relaxed environment where he can stay close to his person. He settles nicely, enjoys being held, and would thrive in a home looking for a true cuddle buddy. Like many small males, he does currently have a tendency to mark his territory, so we’re keeping this sweet boy in wraps until after his neuter, which should help with this behavior as he adjusts. He came to Ruff Draft after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 heart murmur. The good news is this does not require medication or activity restrictions — he simply needs routine monitoring with a vet about every six months. His previous family loved him very much but felt they could not keep up with the ongoing follow-up care, so we stepped in to help him find a forever team ready to give him the stability he deserves. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-key companion who just wants to be near you, this little guy may be your perfect draft pick.
