Hi - My name is Cody and I am a new member of the AARF family. I am a Shih Tzu mix, but because I am brand new to these parts, there`s not much more known about me or my personality just yet. By the time you meet us, we’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age appropriate) and microchipped. We’ve been checked by a veterinarian, and we’re up to date on age appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We’ve been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we’ve started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!

Who`s gray and white and ready to snuggle with her people all day? I`ll give you a hint ... it`s me! My name is Chloe, and I`m looking for a furever home that has a lifetime supply of belly rubs, sunny patches for naps, and fancy dog treats.Aside from being adorable, I am also deaf, so I`m most comfortable when people approach me from the front so I can see them coming. Like anyone else, I`m not a big fan of having anybody sneak up behind me! I LOVE to be with people and will happily spend the day by your side (especially if you`re good at giving belly rubs). I don`t mind other dogs, but I would also be fine as an only pup getting your love all to myself. I will need eye ointment twice a day, but I really enjoy having it applied! I do well on a leash for walks, but prefer not to be in a crate -- I`ll wait for you to come home from any outing by napping on the couch instead. Story

Tuddles is a loving 7.5-year-old Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu mix (Teddy Bear breed), weighing 19 lbs. My daughter & I have cared for him since he was 8 weeks. He’s a well-behaved companion who adores people & thrives on belly rubs. While he gets along with most dogs, he may pull on the leash when larger dogs are nearby. A firm 'leave it' and a tightened leash help manage this behavior, which likely stems from an incident with a German Shepherd when he was 3. He loves running off-leash in grassy areas & playing indoor fetch with his plush toys, returning them on command. He’d do well in a home with or without other pets, whether it’s another small dog or even a cat. Raised on a farm, he’s not crate-trained but enjoys sleeping on a plush blanket or dog bed. Some quirks to keep in mind: Tuddles isn’t fond of rain and may need some encouragement to go outside during wet weather. He barks to alert when someone is at the door. He is a playful & loyal companion who would bring joy to a loving home.
