Story
Clyde is a perky little guy with loads of personality!  He loves snuggling, rolling over, getting belly rubs, and sleeping in bed with his human.  He likes to follow his human around, not always needing attention but being near them.  He is completely housetrained and knows several commands such as sit, down, and come. He takes treats very gently and shows no food or toy aggression.  He walks easily on the leash and loves going for walks.  He is a smart little boy who learns easily and seems to enjoy learning. At his fosters he loves to sit in the window seat and watch the world go by.  He is playful in the house and able to entertain himself with small toys. He is a good boy when left alone and will take a nap until his person comes home. Clyde was found wandering the streets dirty and matted.  He is now recovering from his ordeal.  As his coat starts to grow back you can see the adorable fuzzy guy he really is.  Clyde is 4 years old and 15 pounds.  He needs to get to know people on his own terms - he doesn't like people approaching him but prefers to do the approaching.  When he feels safe he will happily approach you for pets and snuggles. Clyde seems to get along well with bigger, calm dogs when properly introduced.  We think a confident dog would help him feel safer and more confident but he will also be fine as an only dog.  He also shows a positive attitude when he meets cats and we think he might have lived with cats before.  Clyde deserves a home where he will get the peace and security he deserves.  He will need consistent training and is doing well with medication that has made him feel secure.  He needs dog-experienced, adult-only adopter(s) who will work on training with him. PAW would like to find an adopter or foster-to-adopt for Clyde and will support an adopter with training. ##2163345##

Story
Meet Zach – The Sweetest Scruffy Little Elf Looking for Love! Say hello to Zach, an adorable Shih Tzu and Jack Russell mix with the perfect blend of charm and cuddly vibes! Weighing just 11 pounds, Zach is a delightful little guy with a wiry coat and a heart full of love to share. At 6 years old, he’s reached that wonderful age where he’s calm, easygoing, and oh-so-ready to settle into his forever home. Zach’s story is one of love and loss. His devoted owner recently passed away, leaving him without a family to call his own. Fortunately, a kind foster stepped forward to care for him, and now Critter Cavalry Rescue is on the hunt for his perfect match. Zach is the ideal companion for just about anyone! He’s a low-maintenance, snuggly little guy with an easygoing personality. Whether you’re a retired individual or couple, a young family looking for a calm companion, or empty nesters ready for a travel buddy, Zach fits the bill. He’s a leash-walking pro, rides like a dream in the car, and gets along great with other dogs—perfect for families with pets or those who visit friends and family with furry companions. With his endearing scruffy look and semi-low-shedding coat, Zach is not just cute—he’s irresistibly charming. This little “elf on the shelf” is ready to bring love and joy to his new home, and we know the perfect match is out there waiting for him. If you’d like to make Zach part of your family, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Let’s find this little sweetheart the forever home he deserves!     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 12, 2024, 10:09 pm

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/gener.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Lady B  (LAD1124OTHFS)Estimated Breed:  Shih Tzu MIXApproximate Age:   11 yearsApproximate Weight:   15 lbs (small)Currently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $300DOG'S DESCRIPTION: LadyBud is a charming senior who knows the true meaning of companionship. Her low energy makes her a perfect companion for peaceful afternoons, but don't be fooled, she still has a spunky spirit that defies her age.  She is currently on the mends and healing from skin issues and loss of hair that her prior owner neglected to treat!  She is currently on thyroid tabs, apoquil and cold protein wet dog food (duck, rabbit) to assist with her inflammation and healing.  She loves to take car rides, lays in her bed and sleeps like a baby!  She walks great on a a leash and loves to wear her winter jacket on her outings!  Do you have room in your heart to give her a loving home while she enjoys her senior years?  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Newton is looking for a family that has had dog experience. If you do not have dogs now or have not owned a dog in  the last five years, and or if you have children, Newton may not be the right dog for your family. Newton would like to have a home with a yard where he can spend some time running around.    He is an amazingly affectionate dog. Newton is a mixed breed we presume to be Shih-Tzu / Poodle mix.  He is around 23 pounds neutered and up to date with all vaccinations.  Newton ended up in a local shelter completely matted and in pain.  He was shaved down, neutered and had imbecile hernia repair.  He was too stressed out in the shelter so they reached out for a rescue group to help him.  We got there as soon as we can. Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brothers.  He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children. Look back here for more information as we get to know him better. Newton is a very affectionate companion.  He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you.  He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body. WHEN AN APPLICATION TO ADOPT IS APPROVED WE BRING NEWTON TO THE HOME VISIT AND MEET AND GREET, AND IF ANOTHER ANIMAL A SNIFF TEST.  WE DO NOT PLACE DOGS ON THIS VISIT. WE RETURN IF THERE WILL BE AN ADOPTION WHEN EVERYONE IS PREPARED TO ADOPT.  WE ONLY TRAVEL UP TO A ONE HOUR DRIVE FROM ROCKVILLE MD TO PLACE ANIMALS.   Newton's personal webpage: https://hals.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=20407942 Newton's videos on YouTube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6X5lkFtFSjMp6_fnKd7UOKB2JI797ftG&si=Kb-7CqQ6f_gyoNLE Newton's Facebook photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.7420757568005560&type=3 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
