Matawan, NJ. Just look at this precious little Shih Tzu girl.'s sweet face She had an extremely traumatic experience that left one of her eyes hanging out of the socket by the muscle. It was horrendous, but the good news is........ After emergency surgery at an after-hours emergency vet clinic, she has recovered amazingly well and is now ready for adoption in NJ. She was so strong and such a little trooper through it all.. She is the absolute sweetest little angel, happy, extremely well behaved and house trained. You could not get a more wonderful addition to your family if you are wanting to adopt. She will need to be placed in an adult only home with possibly one small, docile dog. We do not want anything to happen to her remaining eye so we must be extra cautious in her placement/home environment. Meet Baby Valentine! This adorable Shih Tzu mix was named because he was surrendered on Valentine’s Day. Despite inheriting seizures from his dad, Baby Valentine is too busy being the happiest pup to notice! Baby Valentine needs to take his meds every day (one of them every eight hours—yes, he has a schedule!), but don’t worry—they're very inexpensive. He’s used to taking them without fuss and goes right back to playing with every toy he can find and running around with his foster sister, trying to show her that he’s just as big and brave as she is! He needs a special human who can keep up with his meds routine. Baby Valentine is a ball of energy who loves everyone and everything! Now, he’s looking for his forever home. Baby Valentine gets along great with other dogs, though he hasn't been tested with cats yet. He’s doing really well with leash training and is already pee pad trained. Plus, he’s getting the hang of using the bathroom outside. At only about 10 lbs, he’s a small pup who won’t grow much bigger. Meet Bourbon! He’s a shih tzu mix (mom is a shih tzu, dad is a schnauzer) who was surrendered from a backyard breeder due to seizures. He takes inexpensive medication four times a day, but he’s not happy about it, so his foster mom continuously comes up with new ways to get him to take it. He’s doing great in his foster home with other small dogs. He’s a 6 pound ball of energy who loves to play, but he will also snuggle up on his foster mom’s lap. He loves toys!! Rocco is 10-12 years old and weighs 12 pounds. He's an equal opportunity lover of dogs, respectful kids and any human who will be his friend. He's an outdoor enthusiast who needs a fenced yard to safely enjoy his adventures. His favorite pastime? Being by your side! Since his beloved owner went into hospice care, Rocco thrives best with someone who’s home often. Rocco has some vision and hearing loss and may need a hand with stairs, but his spirit is unstoppable! Sometimes he barks for no reason but a little distraction does the trick. While we believe he’s housetrained, we use a "male wrap" (belly band) just in case. He’s not on any medication and his recent bloodwork and vet notes show he's doing fine for a senior! We are looking for a "Forever Foster" for Rocco. We'll supply everything Rocco needs for life – all you need to do is provide a loving home, just like you would your own pet. We’re looking for a family within a reasonable distance from Barnegat, NJ, so he can visit our vet in town.
