Are you looking for a furry companion to join your family? Look no further than Lightning, the charming two-year-old, 12 pound Shih Tzu!
Lightning is a social butterfly who loves nothing more than making new friends, whether they have two legs or four. With his friendly nature, he gets along famously with both dogs and people, making him the perfect addition to any household. His calm demeanor and well-behaved manners make him a joy to be around for people of all ages. From climbing stairs with ease to following commands like sitting and coming when called, Lightning is not just a delightful companion but also a smart and obedient one. He is even well on his way to being fully housebroken.
While Lightning may be a little ray of sunshine in his foster family's life, he's still in need of a loving home to call his own! If you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend who's sure to bring endless joy and companionship, consider welcoming Lightning into your life. He's sure to become an irreplaceable member of your family in no time.
Lightning is currently being fostered in Union Township, NJ. His adoption fee is $600.
Lightning is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
