Diamond’s a 3yo 13lb Shih Tzu. He’s dog and kid friendly. He’s house, pee pad and crate trained. He loves running around his fosters secure fenced in yard with another dog and likes going for a harness leashed walk at least once a day. He loves playing with toys with another dog, being with his people to get tons of belly rubs and give kisses. He’s smart, gentle, playful, and enjoys car rides. He can be a barker, chew on things so will need chew toys over other dog items to keep him busy. He also can be a digger so needs to be watched when in the yard. He could use some work on training some of these things, which being food and treat motivated could help with this. Diamond’s foster requires a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, a secure fenced in yard, another playful dog a harnessed leashed walk at least once a day, plenty of chew toys along with giving leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Diamond as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. We have an imposter 😳 Little Elvis was suspected of being in heart failure when we agreed to squeeze him in. We have a hard time saying no to a hospice case, so we said YES to this in honor of Dinosaur whose time with us was far too short. We agreed to him unconditionally sight unseen and brought him right to our vet for a work up to get a better idea of his prognosis and treatment options. We were pretty surprised to learn that not only is he not in congestive heart failure, he doesn’t even have heart disease or a murmur!!! He’s not dying! (Well, technically we are all dying… eventually. We could all learn a lot trying to live life like a dying hospice dog. But he’s not even that!). His periodic cough seems to be a trachea or respiratory infection, his bloodwork is great, he has good energy and is a happy little guy. We accidentally took in a pretty healthy adoptable young senior. Oops 🤷‍♀️ He was found as a very matted neglected stray originally and is a social friendly little Shih Tzu mix for the most part. Sometimes grumpy when he doesn’t want to get out of his bed (who isn’t!?) and may be the type who wants his space at times and not someone too touchy feely and in his face all the time. But he’s been pretty touchy feely and in our face, likes attention, is fine with other small dogs and overall a pretty cool chill guy. He’s about 8-10 years old we think, 14lbs, neutered, updated on shots and will be ready for a home very soon. Meet Phoenix, an adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso male mix. At 5 years old, Phoenix is being surrendered, through no fault of his own, and is in need of a loving home. He spends much of his time during the day alone, and would absolutely love a home where he can interact with his family, be active, be cuddled, and live his best life. Phoenix is about 13pounds of cuteness, searching for a committed, loving family. Phoenix sleeps in a crate with the door open. He is pad trained in the home, but will go outside as well. Also, leash and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and he is neutered. Pad training is due to Phoenix being alone up to 13 hours per day. At this time, Phoenix has not had interaction with other dogs, but current owner reports that he was left at doggy daycare and he got along with other dogs well. Muppet is an approximately 1½ year old Shih Tzu mix weighing about 13 pounds. This adorable little guy came to us extremely matted, so he had to get quite the makeover and a serious haircut. Underneath all that fur was the sweetest little face and an even sweeter personality. Muppet previously lived with an elderly woman who loved him very much but could no longer care for him. He’s very friendly, has a gentle disposition, and seems like the kind of dog who will settle nicely into just about any loving home. He has not previously lived with children or other dogs, but based on his temperament, we think he’ll likely do well with proper introductions.
