Story
Meet Crumpet! Crumpet is an adorably cute 5.5 year old, female Shih Tzu who weighs 13 pounds. She is a puppy mill survivor and filled with love, trust and curiosity despite her traumatic start to life. She is more than ready to leave her past behind her and enjoy a new life and family! Crumpet is sweet, gentle and full of love! She is still settling into her foster home but is already starting to come out of her shell. She will need a patient, kind adopter who will continue to help her build confidence and learn that humans are safe. While she doesn’t mind being carried, she is also comfortable exploring her surroundings and being independent. She is currently fostered with a cat and does very well with interactions. Her favorite activities include napping in a cozy bed, tasting yummy treats and exploring her environment – especially the backyard! She enjoys following her foster parents around the house and finds comfort in their presence. She especially loves a good belly rub! Crumpet is not yet fully potty trained but making good progress. She is new to walking on a leash but is making strides towards short walks around the neighborhood. This brave little lady is ready to share her big heart with her forever family! Crumpet is fostered in Cincinnati, OH. Her adoption fee is $450.00. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. Story
Meet Jerry! Jerry is a 6 year old, 16-lb Shih Tzu who just loves to chill. He is a tail wagging, fluff ball who is totally happy just chilling in the sun. His superpowers include sleeping through the night in his crate with his foster brother, going potty outside most of the time, he plays with his foster brothers and sisters and wags his tail so much when he sees you come home! He loves to sleep and is quite the snorer. He is working on walking on a leash and is doing pretty good. He does get tired after walking so short walks are definitely more his style and if he doesn't want to walk, he just doesn't, so be prepared to carry him(or use a wagon) lol. Some of his favorite things are taking in a ball game, chilling on the couch next to his humans and laying in the sunny spots. If you're looking for the best chill pup....Jerry would be a perfect match! Jerry is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Lizzy is a 1-year-old, 13 lb, female Shih tzu 🐾 Lizzy is a beautiful girl with the most unique coloring—reminiscent of a calico cat, making her truly one-of-a-kind both outside & inside. This sweet girl loves the simple joys in life, especially wondering around freely in a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and feel safe. Lizzy finds comfort in other dogs and will need a confident canine companion in her forever home to help guide her and show her the ropes. Lizzy is still learning to trust humans, and she’ll need a patient & understanding family willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. She may not show her love right away—but when she does it will be incredibly special and deeply earned. She sleeps in her crate, making great progress with potty training, and leash training will have to be done with gentle care. Lizzy does have a grade 5/6 heart murmur, and her future family will need to be prepared to support her medical needs. This may include veterinary care, medication, or a specialized diet to help her live as comfortably and happily as possible. While per prognosis is uncertain, Lizzy deserves a home filled with compassion, commitment, and love. In return, Lizzy promises to give you her whole heart—however long she has—if you are willing to be patient enough to receive it. If you have a gentle heart, a loving dog to guide her, and the willingness to give Lizzy the care she deserves, she just might be your perfect match 💕 Lizzy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00.
