Story
Meet Callie 💕 Callie is a 7-year-old, 15-pound Shih Tzu with a heart as soft as her fluffy coat. This very sweet girl adores belly rubs (she’ll happily roll onto her back and soak them up — a true sign of trust!), cuddling on a warm lap, and giving the gentlest little kisses. She loves attention and affection, and she warmed up quickly to both Foster Mom and Foster Dad. Because she was rescued from a puppy mill, Callie will need slow, gentle introductions to any new dogs. She just needs a little time and patience to feel safe and comfortable. She has not been cat tested. Callie is currently using puppy pads in the house and settles in quietly through the night. When the weather warms up, we’ll start transitioning her to outdoor potty training — and we’re confident she’ll learn in no time. She’s currently enjoying Blue Buffalo Chicken & Rice for adult dogs (with a little boiled chicken mixed in to spoil her just a bit!). Callie is also learning to walk on a leash. She’s still a little hesitant, but she’s doing well and gaining confidence each day. If you’re looking for a snuggle bug who will fill your life with love, warmth, and sweet puppy kisses, Callie may be the perfect girl for you. She’s ready to find her forever home. Callie is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Shihra Knightly! Shihra is a 7-year-old female Shih Tzu weighing about 20 pounds with a soft coat and an even softer heart. Rescued from a puppy mill, she’s adjusting to her new life and learning that people can be kind and safe. Shihra is a people-loving girl who really enjoys attention and will happily let you know when she’s ready for snuggles. She has a bit of a chatty, expressive personality and likes to stay close to her humans, but can be slightly shy. Shihra's been friendly with the dogs she’s met so far, including small and medium-sized pups, and has done just fine. We’re still working on training basics — she’s currently using pee pads and will need continued help with house and leash training as she settles in. With patience, love, and a consistent routine, Shihra is sure to blossom into a devoted companion who just wants to be right by your side! Shihra is being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, and her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet LADYBUG, a sweet young 10ish pound Shih Tzu girl looking for a home. Ladybug is a happy little wiggle butt who was surrendered to a rural shelter. Someone bought her from a breeder but didn't want to be bothered having her groomed. She's right around 1 year old and was a matted mess when she arrived. Her grooming involved cutting off painful mats so she's pretty closely clipped. Ladybug is dog friendly, not cat tested yet. Ladybug will require regular grooming appointments to keep her from looking and feeling great. If you're interested in adopting adorable little Ladybug, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.  Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 4, 2026, 4:28 pm
