Story
Meet Tantoo, a stunning 2.5-year-old flame point Siamese with a goofy smile, crossed eyes, and an appreciation for a spoiled indoor life. After surviving a very rough life on the streets, Tantoo has fully embraced indoor living and makes it clear every day how grateful he is to be safe. His favorite activities include rubbing all over his people for attention, lounging in sunny windows, and soaking up the comfort he waited so long to find.
Tantoo has a cleft palate (his mother does also! They were both found on the streets together) but it doesn’t stop him from enjoying life and bonding deeply with his humans. He’s affectionate, expressive, and loves being part of the household routine. He has a playful side too — Tantoo can get a little enthusiastic during playtime, so he would likely be happiest as the only cat in the home where he can have all the attention to himself. Give him a toy chest and he’ll be glued to it for the rest of the day….anything catnip and he becomes possessed in the absolute most precious way.
Tantoo is looking for someone who sees how special he is: a resilient survivor turned devoted companion, ready to spend the rest of his life safe, adored, and curled up beside the people he loves.
Currently in foster care in Fountain Valley. Meet & greets / pickup will be coordinated upon approved application & homecheck video. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.
All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!
