Story
Lazarus is a miracle kitty. He was the runt of the litter and was near death when our rescue network was alerted. Miraculously, Lazarus cheated death and came back to life after many efforts was devoted to saving him. He was named Lazarus in memory of his recover which was due to the power of shed tears, prayers and, of course, warm kitten milk. Despite his small stature, Lazarus is the king of mischief. He is the most impish of all the kitties in his foster home. He is fostered with multiple cats and one elderly dog. His zeal for life is expressed in his fearless attempts to scale high regions and to wrestle his larger feline siblings daily for championship. He loves the elderly dog in the household and will often lie next to her. He tries very hard to cajole her into play and unfortunately, his favorite catch toy is her plumy tail. So often, he will get a gentle "woof" as a reprimand for his naughty antics. We are selectively looking for a perfect, loving home for Lazarus. Aside from his gorgeous chocolate Siamese good looks, this kitty is inquisitive and very curious. He is also quite social with all the animals in the home so we are actively looking for a home with another young cat AND a gentle dog who would not mind being teased by a loving, naughty feline companion. We prefer that he goes to a home where his owners will have the time to dote on him. Due to the nature of his rescue, Lazarus is VERY special to our rescue, and we hope that potential owners will not simply apply for him because of his good looks alone. Please note the following: We always do vet reference checks, and we WILL NOT adopt kittens or cats into household where the residential pets are unvaccinated. This is to ensure the safety of BOTH our kitten/cat and your current pets. We also only adopt locally and will reserve the right to deny Meet and Greet as our volunteers cannot do any home visits if the distance is too great. This is a No Exception Rule: Due to its young age, this kitty cannot be adopted into a home that has no other young cat(s) or kitten(s) for it to socialize with. Consider adopting the kitty with a sibling if you don't already have a kitten or cat at home. To meet Lazarus, please text 214 621 1139 for an application to meet.

Story
Special dude looking for the purr-fect family. Hi, my name is Lotus, but I answer to Potato because my foster family says I look like a potato. I am a super sweet 6 month old siamese mix with a special condition. The good news is with environment modifications I will be just fine. You see, I have what's called fainting cat syndrome, Myotonia Congenita. Anytime that I get startled, try to pounce or jump I stiffen up and fall over, it only last for a few seconds. I am a compact dude as well because my muscles are contracted most of the time. My environment modifications would include food/water being accessible on the floor, no climbing or low climbing situations, and as little startles as possible. I love to cuddle so if you put me on the couch or bed I will cuddle but you have to remember to put me back on the floor when you get up. I am in a very active household that includes a German Shepherd, yorkie and older cats and kittens. I have also been exposed to children as young as 6 months up to teenagers with no issues. In fact, my foster nephew, who's 1, has chosen me as his favorite and I'm ok with that. I have perfect litter box skills and do like to play with cat toys, balls and string, I just don't play like a normal kitten would. If all of that didn't overwhelm you and you are still interested in me please reach out to my friends at Habitat4paws.org and inquire about me. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the How it Works page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.

Story
Meet beautiful Siamese mix Sable. This girl is a truly adorable, plushy, real-life Beanie Baby and she has been rescued FOUR times. Here is her rescue story! Her first rescue was by a feline mother with kittens slightly older than Sable when Sable’s own mother abandoned her. Rescue number two was by a kind woman living without a home and doing her very best to care for the mama and kittens. Sable’s third rescue was by a woman able to assure the homeless woman that she could get the cat family proper vet care and good homes through a rescue group. TMHPR is rescue number 4 and Sable is now looking for her forever home through adoption by a lucky and loving family. Sable is a gorgeous girl who had some health issues while a baby living on the street. These health issues have been diagnosed and addressed thoroughly by veterinarians and she is now a very healthy, active, happy kitty. The vet says that while she may have very minor differences, she is expected to live a normal, healthy life. Her early days on the streets trying to survive, caused a very slight side-to-side head wag that she does. She also has very mild vision issues. Her vision is completely fine for an indoor cat and both issues do not get in her way at all in terms of her love of the cat life and her zest for pets and toys and hanging out!  She  has zero idea that she is what is often referred to as perfectly imperfect. Such an easy and adorable purrsonality. She is super social and affectionate and just a complete charmer. The way she looks at others with total adoration is just, well, so sweet. Sable needs to be in a home with another young cat to play with and thrive. While she has not had the opportunity to be around children or dogs, she would likely do well with them. Her estimated birth date is June 3, 2024. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##2101664##

Lily is such a beautiful young girl, she really loves attention. She was rescued from a colony in June and is about 1 year. She is negative for FeLV/FIV she was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped . Her foster mom says she full of energy but has not had time to see how she would do with her cats so we're unsure about that. She really is such a cute girl

Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS* This is Jonah, a most handsome 2 year old Seal Point Siamese mix male. Jonah was living as a stray outside at an apartment complex. He and some of his good buddies were being fed by a good Samaritan. The lady that fed him thought he was too nice to be living outdoors, so she contacted NBCR for help finding Jonah a home. We are very glad she did! Jonah is extremely shy when you first meet him, but he gradually warms up to you and enjoys getting pets and ear rubs, and will purr in gratitude. He sure seems to like life on the inside, with a steady supply of food and naps. Jonah has tested positive for both the FIV and feline leukemia virus. Both are viruses that can impact longevity, mainly the leukemia virus. To be clear, he does not have leukemia, but carries the virus that may cause cancer in the future. Cats with this virus generally don't live a long life, maybe up to 5-6 years, although we've known a few cats that have lived to be 8 years old. (Please see links below for more resources.) Jonah is currently healthy and feeling well, and had no problem recovering from his neuter surgery or receiving vaccinations. He doesn't currently require any medication and, for the foreseeable future, should be able to live life just like a regular cat. He's a good-natured boy that take it all in stride! Jonah is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.
