Meet Momo; a sweet, affectionate 5-year-old cat who loves cuddles and is very vocal. Momo was adopted about 3.5 years ago and has a gentle, loving nature. He tends to be skittish around strangers and prefers quiet, calm environments. While he has lived with small dogs before, he only tolerates those who are calm and give him space. Energetic dogs can stress him out. Momo hasn’t lived with other cats during this time, so it’s unclear how he would adjust to one. He is also not a fan of children and would do best in a home without them. Momo would thrive in a peaceful, patient home where he can feel safe and loved.

Meet Tiptoe! This handsome lynx point boy is as sweet as they come and wants nothing more than to be cuddled by his fosters (except maybe wet food).  Tiptoe came to us from a colony of community cats as a potential TNR candidate, but it was quickly obvious that he was too friendly and had too many dental issues to thrive outside. After assessment by the vet, we found that Tiptoe has stomatitis and we made the decision to have all his teeth removed due to this chronic condition. Since his dental extraction was completed and he's healed up fully, Tiptoe is happier than ever and still enjoys scarfing down kibble and canned food alike, much more easily now that his mouth doesn't hurt. This guy loves playing with wand toys and can chase them around as long as someone will indulge him. He's still a young cat who has a lot of energy but is ultimately a big cuddle bug who can't resist when his human companions are at a desk where we can plop all over them for attention.  Tiptoe is still getting acclimated to new people outside of his foster family, but once he warms up, you'll find it impossible to keep him off you. He would be so happy to have a cat friend to play with and has enjoyed the company of small dogs too! Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. DOB- 8-16-2024  Meet Vivian (Vivi), a sweet female Siamese mix with snowshoe markings and striking blue eyes. She would do best in a quiet home and must be adopted with her BFF Ziggy - they do love each other.  Happy to be lost in her own world, she can be easily startled but loves to hang out in the room wherever her human is. She’ll run away from you but will come right back when you call. She doesn’t like being picked up but will gladly snuggle up in your arms for a movie, enjoy some belly rubs, sit in your lap or on your desk in her bed while you work, and sometimes insist you let her under the blankets at bedtime. She can be very energetic and treats even simple things like it were a secret mission by running room to room before vaulting onto the couch and disappearing, only to do it again. If there’s a laser or a feather to play with, you’ll get tired before she does as she chirps her way through play. She needs a loving home that understands she’ll need time to adjust and build trust.
