ABOUT ME: I'm Cali, a sweet feline longing for the tranquility of a loving home. The shelter's hustle and bustle leave me feeling stressed, but with the right environment, I'll blossom into the affectionate companion you've been dreaming of. Give me the peace and patience I need, and watch me thrive in the comfort of a calm and loving place to call my own.FOSTER TYPE: Healing and ComfortFOSTER REASON: I have some health concerns my doctors are trying to figure out! I may have a UTI but I am waiting for some results before we know for sure. I also am overweight and need some more room for exercise. My foster parent should be comfortable keeping me on a strict diet, giving oral medication, and brining me to the shelter for vet visits.APPOINTMENT TYPE: Scheduled - fill out an application or email FOSTERMED@SPCA.ORG!

Story
Meet handsome Chaz. He was found by a kind person along with his siblings and, at first, he was a bit hesitant to enjoy the humans in his loving foster home. But now, he is fabulous and friendly and a happy boy!! He is a beautiful Siamese mix with stripes on his legs. It’s been a journey of love from his foster family and Chaz now sees the benefits of liking people and all the happy they can bring! You can hear a literal "click" when he turns on his purr box. He enjoys cheek pets, full body pets and ear scratches. When he’s not lounging adorably he can be found scratching cat posts or chasing toys.  He loves spinning ball toys, springs and finger pouncing. Chaz met a cat buddy in his foster home, Orange Tabby boy Snap, who he bonded with so Chaz and Snap are a double adoption....a truly bonded pair. They are very attached and will be the perfect addition to a loving family. Nothing better than adopting two cats who love each other and everyone else! His estimated birth date is May 1, 2023. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##1778346##

Story
Meet Sealpoint Siamese boy Oscar. Found as a stray, he is loving the safe and secure indoor life in a wonderful foster home. Handsome and super sweet, Oscar really loves his cuddles and adores belly rubs and sitting next to you. He likes to look outside and watch what's going on with the birds and squirrels. He sometimes seems to be a little lonely so will do best in a living situation where people or other pets will be around to hang out with. Other than that need for company, he's super sweet and likes to follow his foster mom around the house. His estimated birth date is February 21, 2023. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##1979991##

Story
Meet gorgeous blue-eyed Rina! She was an owner surrender to TMHPR. She is a Lilac Siamese with cute white boots on her paws. She may have some Birman in her genes!  This hefty beauty comes from a rough past, but she has turned into the ultimate diva. With abundant patience from foster mom, she has gone from shying away from attention to lying in the middle of the room meowing for it. She still prefers cheek rubs to anything else, but she won't come to you for it - she'll tell you she wants it, then walk a few steps away to see if you'll follow. Once you're in reach, she'll lean into you as long as you'll pet her, and she'll even try grabbing your hand if you stop before she's ready - but since she's declawed, it's the gentlest grab you'll ever get. She has committed to a weight loss diet and exercise plan to help alleviate her arthiritis, and every day she feels more energetic and playful. She is not a fan of change - it took her three months with foster mom before she was willing to explore outside her initial room, and new people are a bit scary, but with regular exposure, she's grown to appreciate attention from the occasional visitor and to be curious about rooms foster mom doesn't want her in. She enjoys being groomed by her foster brother, which makes it easier for her to forgive him for pouncing on her. She tolerated a bit of construction in her home, but she's not happy with little humans making lots of noise and grabbing at her.  Rina will likely never be a lap cat, but she certainly enjoys companionship on her own terms. Given time to adjust, she will thrive in a low-key environment as an only cat or with another laid-back cat.Her estimated birth date is October 27, 2015.  Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##1861197##

Story
Meet Gorgeous Siamese girl Coco Chanel. Rescued from a a local animal shelter and currently living in a loving foster home. Her foster mom reports that she is a beautiful, active girl! She’s very sweet and loves to be around people getting pets. She likes playing with her stuffed toys but her most favorite activity of all is napping! She’s not much of a lap girl but comes running to greet everyone and looks at you with her intense gaze. We think she would do fine as an only cat in a loving home where she gets lots of attention and pets. She might also do well with a friendly cat buddy after proper introduction. Her estimated birth date is August 31, 2023. Cats adopted from TMHPR are indoor only. ##1940494##

Story
Hello my name is Ms. Lowes.  My rescuer mom found me in the garden center at Lowe’s, she said I was the prettiest flower there!  I’m a cutie who loves to run and go up to the top of my cat tree!  I am a very smart girl too. I figure out toys and games quickly.  I most enjoy watching the world from my window. I love watching the birds and cars outside but I always want to be indoors! I may need help learning my way around my new home as this is a new concept for me.  I haven’t been around children but older kids would be ok with me. I do want to be your only fur princess, as I don’t prefer to share my home with other cats or dogs.   I am a great girl and chat/talk daily to my rescuer mom.  My dream life is being loved forever in a great home!! I am a gorgeous Lynx point siamese with big blue eyes that are mesmerizing.  I am approximately 2 years old, have been spayed, microchipped and my shots are up to date!  I am a clean girl and always use my litter box!  Thank you for reading about me and know I’d love to meet you and be your forever princess! —Ms. Lowes To adopt her please fill out an adoption application at http://www.buddiesplacecatrescue.org Courtesy post Updated: 12/10/23

Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS* This is Jonah, a most handsome 2 year old Seal Point Siamese mix male. Jonah was living as a stray outside at an apartment complex. He and some of his good buddies were being fed by a good Samaritan. The lady that fed him thought he was too nice to be living outdoors, so she contacted NBCR for help finding Jonah a home. We are very glad she did! Jonah is extremely shy when you first meet him, but he gradually warms up to you and enjoys getting pets and ear rubs, and will purr in gratitude. He sure seems to like life on the inside, with a steady supply of food and naps. Jonah has tested positive for both the FIV and feline leukemia virus. Both are viruses that can impact longevity, mainly the leukemia virus. To be clear, he does not have leukemia, but carries the virus that may cause cancer in the future. Cats with this virus generally don't live a long life, maybe up to 5-6 years, although we've known a few cats that have lived to be 8 years old. (Please see links below for more resources.) Jonah is currently healthy and feeling well, and had no problem recovering from his neuter surgery or receiving vaccinations. He doesn't currently require any medication and, for the foreseeable future, should be able to live life just like a regular cat. He's a good-natured boy that take it all in stride! Jonah is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105. If you would like to learn more about FIV & FeLV, please follow the links below: https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/ https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-leukemia-virus-felv/ https://www.alleycat.org/resources/protocols-testing-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv-and-feline-leukemia-virus-felv/April 21, 2024, 10:34 am

Story
I adopted Kolo a couple weeks ago from the local shelter. I have never owned a cat before but wanted to take him out of the shelter and give him a good home. He is a nice looking black with some white spots on his face. He is 11 years old. Unfortunately, I have a couple dogs that are not adapting well to him being around. With that said, Kolo is very curious, a bit timid, and likes to follow me around but can get scared off very easily. He would do best in a non dog household and in a calm environment where he can have most of the attention and relax.

Story
Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because it has been 5 whole months! and I have gone in the litter box each and every time I need to go! So you see, it took a little time but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster moms cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend!  Medical:  Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Fluoxetine - Compounded Treat Chews - ordered monthly and delivered to his home. April 25, 2024, 3:17 pm
