Story
Hi, I’m Hobbes and I want to share my story. I was in a home before I was surrendered to Texas CARES. It was my one and only home and I was the star of the house, that is, until my family had a baby. After that, it seems I was set aside. The wonderful people at Texas CARES took me into their rescue but that is not where my story ends. You see, I am a very special boy and have had some pretty big ups and downs. In my foster home, I was having such a time using my litter box and no one could seem to figure out why I was going outside of it. They took me to the vet, where they ran tests and more tests. That wasn’t fun, because I am not a huge fan of going into the carrier (I told foster mom all about it on the ride) but I knew it was for my own good. My foster mom, along with the medical team, tried several different things. My food was changed, my foster mom used extra litter boxes, but I still would go outside the box. There was even a time where I heard talk of euthanasia. I’m not sure what that is but it sure didn’t sound good! I know my foster mom was so frustrated and really wanted to help me, but it was tough. Finally, foster mom and the medical team, along with the vets, started me on some different antibiotics and some medicine to help with my mental state. This seemed to be what was needed for me because I now use the litter box each and every time I need to go! So, you see, it took a little time, but I am finally ready to seek out a forever home. I will have to be on my special food, which helps prevent crystals in my urine, and I may have to be on my mental meds long term, but I take them like a champ. In fact, I don’t even think it’s medicine because it looks and tastes like a chicken treat. I enjoy my prescription food as well! I do get along with dogs and I have met my foster mom's cats but honestly, I’d probably prefer just to have my very own human to myself. I won’t be going up to the adoption center, so if you’d like to meet me and have a chat, my foster family will make arrangements for you to meet me! I really hope you will take a chance on me because I am a really wonderful boy and I am ready to be your best friend! Medical: Special Diet - He is now on CD Urinary food both dry and wet. Fluoxetine - Compounded Treat Chews - ordered monthly and delivered to his home.

Story
Meet Nova Nova is a 5-year-old female Snowshoe/Domestic short hair mix weighing approx. 6 pounds who is looking for a quiet, loving home to call her own. Nova was taken in as a stray after being born in her neighborhood, and she has been living comfortably in a home environment ever since. Sadly, due to unfortunate circumstances, her family was unable to continue to care for her and surrendered her to the shelter so she can find a new family to love. She is housebroken and enjoys having the freedom to roam and relax in her space. Nova has a more reserved personality and tends to be shy, especially around young children. Because of this, she would do best in a calm home, ideally with adults or older children who can respect her space and allow her to warm up at her own pace. She does well with other cats and may enjoy the companionship of a feline friend. Like many cats, Nova will thrive in a patient home where she can build trust and settle in comfortably. With time and understanding, she has the potential to form a strong, loving bond with her new family. Nova's adoption fee is $50 which includes her spayed, microchip, rabies vaccination, FVRCP vaccine and FIV/FELV test. Her spay procedure, rabies vaccine and FIV/FELV test are scheduled for Wednesday, 04/15/26. This date is non-negotiable, therefore adopters should be plan accordingly to return Nova for spay appointment accordingly. If you're looking for a quiet, low-key companion and are willing to give Nova the time she needs to adjust, she may be the perfect addition to your home. If you are interested in adoption, apply online at: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. April 11, 2026, 6:03 pm

Story
This beautiful seal point girl has a gentle, sensitive soul. She’s still young and has always been on the timid side, taking her time to feel safe and comfortable. In quiet moments, her sweetness really shines. She has bonded closely with our older cat, but strays away from our playful kitten. I think she feels most at ease alone, but she may thrive in a home with another calm, friendly cat. With people, she’s shy at first and won’t come up for attention, but if she chooses to lay beside you, she’ll happily accept soft pets and enjoy your company. Our home is very busy and loud, and we’ve realized she just hasn’t been able to bloom in this environment. She needs a calm, patient home where she can build trust at her own pace. She’s a wonderful, quiet companion with so much love to give to the right person.

Adopted from a rescue in Mt Vernon Tx, Artie is about 6yrs old. SCARED OF DOGS!! Best in a household where he’s the only cat. He’s shy and aloof at first, then warms up. A loving environment is best.

Story
Daisy is a sweet 8 month old female cat I’ve been fostering. She’s very sweet and loving lap cat! 🥰 She loves to be petted and purrs. She’s very playful and full of personality 🥰 She is a bonded pair with another cat, Buddy, a male kitty, who is also on my profile. It will be amazing if they can be adopted together. Message me if you wanna give these kitties a loving forever home! 🥰
