All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. Their mom was a purebred Weimaraner and their dad was a purebred Standard Poodle. Gracie is a sweet, smart, and energetic girl who also has a sensitive side. She's doing great with crate training and house training and loves playing with other dogs! More than anything though Gracie enjoys being right by her person's side. Meet Teagan! Earlier in the year we rescued Tate and Truman, 2 standard poodles, along with a poodle mix puppy from Upson County after they had been surrendered to animal control. A couple of weeks ago, we found out the same family had just surrendered 3 more standard poodles. We really take the “You don’t leave family behind” philosophy seriously, so even though it had been months since we saved the first group and we REALLY don’t have room for more dogs - we knew we had to save these guys! Teller was in the worst shape. He was completely matted and caked in mud. And his poor eyes so infected. It took hours to get him cleaned up. If you’ve ever had to shave down a severely matted dog, you’ll know it’s very similar to sheering a sheep - the hair just comes off in one huge piece. Thankfully, the girls Tiggy and Teagan, had been groomed before at some point and were in much better shape. Our unconfirmed theory is that Teagan (grey) is mom to Teller (black) and Tiggy (blonde). Teller and Tiggy both appear to be about a year old so we think they are probably littermates. Teagan is about 2-3 years old - still young herself. All three of these amazing poodles are super super sweet; great with dogs of all sizes; and cats!! Sweet Teagan was even trying to play with our special little NeuroSpicy girl Sofia on her first night! These guys are all looking for tried and true Standard Poodle homes. To know poodles is to love them, but these 3 have all been failed by humans once and we won’t let that happen again - so we really do want homes that know all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with having Standard Poodles as family members.
