Story
Meet Kelce 🐾Kelce is a truly special girl with the sweetest soul. Though she is both blind and deaf, she doesn’t let that stop her from living a life full of love. She experiences the world through gentle touch, familiar scents, and the comforting presence of her people.Kelce is incredibly affectionate and thrives on closeness. She loves soft blankets, belly rubs, and simply being near someone she trusts. Because she can’t see or hear, she builds deep bonds through routine, patience, and kindness. Once she knows you’re there, her whole body wiggles with pure joy.To keep her beautiful coat healthy and shining, Kelce will need monthly grooming appointments and weekly brushing at home. Regular grooming not only keeps her looking her best, but it also gives her extra bonding time and helps her feel safe and cared for.Kelce may need a little extra understanding, but what she gives in return is unconditional love beyond measure. All she wants is a warm lap, a gentle touch, and someone who will remind her every single day that she is safe, cherished, and home. 💗Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Story
Meet Teagan!  Earlier in the year we rescued Tate and Truman, 2 standard poodles, along with a poodle mix puppy from Upson County after they had been surrendered to animal control. A couple of weeks ago, we found out the same family had just surrendered 3 more standard poodles. We really take the “You don’t leave family behind” philosophy seriously, so even though it had been months since we saved the first group and we REALLY don’t have room for more dogs - we knew we had to save these guys! Teller was in the worst shape. He was completely matted and caked in mud. And his poor eyes so infected. It took hours to get him cleaned up. If you’ve ever had to shave down a severely matted dog, you’ll know it’s very similar to sheering a sheep - the hair just comes off in one huge piece. Thankfully, the girls Tiggy and Teagan, had been groomed before at some point and were in much better shape.  Our unconfirmed theory is that Teagan (grey) is mom to Teller (black) and Tiggy (blonde). Teller and Tiggy both appear to be about a year old so we think they are probably littermates. Teagan is about 2-3 years old - still young herself. All three of these amazing poodles are super super sweet; great with dogs of all sizes; and cats!! Sweet Teagan was even trying to play with our special little NeuroSpicy girl Sofia on her first night!  These guys are all looking for tried and true Standard Poodle homes. To know poodles is to love them, but these 3 have all been failed by humans once and we won’t let that happen again - so we really do want homes that know all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with having Standard Poodles as family members. Does that sound like you?? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: Prior first hand ownership experience with Standard Poodles is a strict requirement to adopt. Must live in Metro Atlanta and have at least one other playful dog in the home  ##2579219##

Story
Marley, 6, well cared for since 10wks is purebred poodle with stunning white fur, silver patches. Hypoallergenic for allergy sufferers, she is an excited but gentle companion. She enjoys playing yet she's calm, quiet, alert, protective at home. Marley thrives on hugs, kisses, and massages! She's communicative when she needs to go potty. Smart and athletic, Marley enjoys solving puzzles and gets along well with adults, kids, and dogs. Plus, she's already spayed! Marley has separation anxiety and dislikes being indoors alone. She needs another dog, sitter, daycare, or sleep medication when left alone. An ideal home would have a 6ft wood-fenced yard and someone who is with her; perfect for emotional support, retirees, or work from home. With training, she can overcome this limitation. We are only rehoming Marley due to work and no yard but if you're looking for an amazing dog who will be your best buddy, Marley is the one for you! Apply today! We provide toys, food, supplies, vet records.

Story
BASICS: – Female – 2.5 years old – 45ish pounds – Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped – Potty trained, crate trained – Dog friendly, cat friendly – No young kids, needs another dog in home, flight risk PERSONALITY: Linda is very shy and timid at first, and needs someone with patience as she integrates into her new home/people/etc. She is avoidant of strangers and needs time to warm up. Once warmed up, Linda is very calm, happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and easy. DOGS: Lives in foster with other dogs. She does good with both small and big dogs. Another dog in the home is important for Linda's continual progression. CATS: Lives in foster with cats. She started off just peacefully coexisting and tolerating the cats, but has evolved to having cat friends. Her foster says her cats actually like Linda more than the resident dogs now after a couple months in foster. KIDS: Linda does not appreciate young children and is not a match for a home with them. TRAINING: Potty trained. Crate trained (continuing crating will be recommended – it is her safe space and she appreciates putting herself up in it at times where she needs a social break). Does not pull on a leash (though is kinda jumpy the whole time- going back to her skittish-ness). IDEAL HOME: She would do best having a woman in the home. Men are totally fine too, and Linda even calmly seeks them out for affection too once she warms up, but she thrives off of and leans off of having a woman in the home. Linda is also looking for a home with another dog(s). Linda is a FLIGHT RISK. It is extremely unlikely that Linda could be caught again if she escaped, so adopters must be prepared to take an abundance of caution to keep her safe and secure. BACKSTORY: Linda accidentally escaped from her owner this summer. She proved to be quite the evasive one and took nearly a month to recapture. After capture, convos with her owner revealed they did not think Linda was happy with them nor did they feel best equipped to manage medical rehab (Linda was injured while on the run and needed surgery). Linda was surrendered to us to follow and has recovered from hip surgery (FHO). LOCATION: Currently in foster in Atlanta, GA. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal. APPLY HERE: joyspromise.org/adopt – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Inquiries on adoption sites is not an application. Your inquiry will not be seen until you complete an actual application at joyspromise.org/adopt
