Story
BASICS: – Female – 2.5 years old – 45ish pounds – Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped – Potty trained, crate trained – Dog friendly, cat friendly – No young kids, needs another dog in home, flight risk PERSONALITY: Linda is very shy and timid at first, and needs someone with patience as she integrates into her new home/people/etc. She is avoidant of strangers and needs time to warm up. Once warmed up, Linda is very calm, happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and easy. DOGS: Lives in foster with other dogs. She does good with both small and big dogs. Another dog in the home is important for Linda's continual progression. CATS: Lives in foster with cats. She started off just peacefully coexisting and tolerating the cats, but has evolved to having cat friends. Her foster says her cats actually like Linda more than the resident dogs now after a couple months in foster. KIDS: Linda does not appreciate young children and is not a match for a home with them. TRAINING: Potty trained. Crate trained (continuing crating will be recommended – it is her safe space and she appreciates putting herself up in it at times where she needs a social break). Does not pull on a leash (though is kinda jumpy the whole time- going back to her skittish-ness). IDEAL HOME: She would do best having a woman in the home. Men are totally fine too, and Linda even calmly seeks them out for affection too once she warms up, but she thrives off of and leans off of having a woman in the home. Linda is also looking for a home with another dog(s). Linda is a FLIGHT RISK. It is extremely unlikely that Linda could be caught again if she escaped, so adopters must be prepared to take an abundance of caution to keep her safe and secure. BACKSTORY: Linda accidentally escaped from her owner this summer. She proved to be quite the evasive one and took nearly a month to recapture. After capture, convos with her owner revealed they did not think Linda was happy with them nor did they feel best equipped to manage medical rehab (Linda was injured while on the run and needed surgery). Linda was surrendered to us to follow and has recovered from hip surgery (FHO). LOCATION: Currently in foster in Atlanta, GA. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal. APPLY HERE: joyspromise.org/adopt – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Inquiries on adoption sites is not an application. Story
Meet Margarita 🍹—or Margo, if you’re on the inside. Margarita is finally ready to find her forever home! She came to us back in September as part of the adorable “Mixed Drinks” litter when she was just 5 weeks old. While all of her siblings were quickly scooped up, Margo stayed behind due to a unique quirk: she has a small patch of abnormal skin with missing fur on her right front foot. After lots of vet visits, trial-and-error with foods and medications, and plenty of observation, we’ve determined that it’s simply a congenital condition—not painful, not contagious, not spreading, and not something that bothers her. Just part of what makes Margo Margo. Now 6 months old, Margarita is a spunky, rambunctious, mischievous goldendoodle who fully embodies joyful puppy energy. She’s housetrained, crate trained, great with kids, and does well with other dogs. She hasn’t been around cats yet. She’s a bit wiggly during grooming (who isn’t?), but otherwise handles it like a champ. We expect her to grow into a lovely 55–65 lb adult. She truly is a fantastic girl—but we do need to be honest about one important thing: Margarita is a sock eater. Yes, really. Her foster family had a close call (with a happy ending!) and it’s clear this habit isn’t a one-time thing. Because of this, we recommend a home without kids and with an adopter who is extremely diligent about keeping socks and other cloth items out of reach. Management will be key to keeping Margo safe and thriving. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, goofy, affectionate pup with a big personality and you’re ready to stay one step ahead of her mischievous side, Margarita might just be your perfect match. Because she is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee that she will have a coat that will not shed. As with any poodle mix her fur can be low allergen, but low allergen does not mean NO allergen. We very much do not want her to be returned due to her fur coat developing as she grows and matures. She will also need frequently grooming and daily brushing to maintain her coat. If you are interested in adopting Margarita, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY/Dog **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
Meet Tina! Tina is a 6-month-old doodle mix with a big personality and an even bigger sense of fun, and she’s officially ready to find her forever home! Her mom was a large-breed doodle, dad is unknown, and we expect Tina to grow to about 45 pounds when fully grown. She currently weighs 32 pounds and is right in that sweet, awkward puppy stage. Tina is doing well with crate training and is picking up potty training nicely, with only a few accidents here and there. She is very playful and absolutely loves to chase and pounce—toys, leaves, imaginary things… if it moves (or even if it doesn’t), Tina is interested! She already knows “sit” and is walking well on a leash, making her a great candidate for continued training and adventures. Tina is eager to learn and would thrive with a family ready to keep her busy and engaged. One of Tina’s most unique features is her wiry coat. In the 6+ weeks she’s been with us, she’s only needed regular brushing—no professional grooming required so far. That said, she is likely not hypoallergenic and likely not low-shedding. Think of her as a funny, wire-haired girl with a delightfully crazy hairdo and loads of charm to match. If you’re looking for a playful, quirky, and lovable young dog to add laughter and energy to your home, Tina might just be your girl! Story
Panda is a great dog. Adaptable and easy. Very spunky and playful. Loves to play so children or other dogs are great. He is a big dog so he’s better with other larger dogs. Panda is very cuddly and sweet. Needs exercise daily and lots of mind stimulation. Panda does have an autoimmune called Pemphigus foliaceus. It causes some hair loss and changes his hair texture than most poodles but it’s easily managed with occasional dose of steroid and auto suppressant.

Story
Meet Ollie — a 42-lb black and white parti poodle with a gentle soul and a heart full of hope. Born 2/28/25, he arrived at Orphan Annie Rescue uncertain and timid, having known very little human contact. Slowly, lovingly, he is emerging from his shell, revealing the playful, curious puppy hiding beneath the fear. Ollie’s personality is tender and sweet. He has no aggression in him, only caution. He is still shy around people but now allows a few trusted humans to pet him. His true confidence comes from being around other dogs - they are his role models, his comfort, and his teachers. The right home for Ollie will include at least one confident, larger dog (preferably more). His family will need patience, gentleness, and an understanding of timid dogs. He will also require a fenced-in yard where he can play and explore safely. Daily life with Ollie includes joyful play with other dogs, running, chasing balls, and occasional roughhousing. He’s leash trained, rides calmly in the car, is crate trained (but happiest snuggled in bed with his foster dad), and is motivated by food — which helps his training journey. Grooming will be part of his routine as a standard poodle. He’s still learning to tolerate baths and grooming tools, but brushing is going great, and he's making steady progress. As he grows, Ollie will likely become a larger standard poodle given his current size. Ollie is a special boy. With guidance from confident canine siblings and a kind, patient family, he will continue to blossom into a loyal and joyful companion. To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $400, which includes my shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, and deworming. You must live in METRO Atlanta to adopt him.

Story
Meet Teagan!  Earlier in the year we rescued Tate and Truman, 2 standard poodles, along with a poodle mix puppy from Upson County after they had been surrendered to animal control. A couple of weeks ago, we found out the same family had just surrendered 3 more standard poodles. We really take the “You don’t leave family behind” philosophy seriously, so even though it had been months since we saved the first group and we REALLY don’t have room for more dogs - we knew we had to save these guys! Teller was in the worst shape. He was completely matted and caked in mud. And his poor eyes so infected. It took hours to get him cleaned up. If you’ve ever had to shave down a severely matted dog, you’ll know it’s very similar to sheering a sheep - the hair just comes off in one huge piece. Thankfully, the girls Tiggy and Teagan, had been groomed before at some point and were in much better shape.  Our unconfirmed theory is that Teagan (grey) is mom to Teller (black) and Tiggy (blonde). Teller and Tiggy both appear to be about a year old so we think they are probably littermates. Teagan is about 2-3 years old - still young herself. All three of these amazing poodles are super super sweet; great with dogs of all sizes; and cats!! Sweet Teagan was even trying to play with our special little NeuroSpicy girl Sofia on her first night!  These guys are all looking for tried and true Standard Poodle homes. To know poodles is to love them, but these 3 have all been failed by humans once and we won’t let that happen again - so we really do want homes that know all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with having Standard Poodles as family members. Does that sound like you?? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: Prior first hand ownership experience with Standard Poodles is a strict requirement to adopt. Must live in Metro Atlanta and have at least one other playful dog in the home  ##2579219##
