Meet Indie! This pup is a 5 year old aussie doodle. He does great with kids and other dogs making him a perfect social gentleman. He thrives on companionship so family walks, playtime in the yard, or just snuggles by your side are his jam. Indie does have a strong prey drive so he needs a home without small animals or cats. ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Complete adoption application and submit following appropriate link below: Dog/Puppy: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Dog Cat/kitten: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Cat It takes us about 1-3 days to process applications. Once approved, we ask that all members of the household (including dogs) be available for meeting the animal within 3 days. If the meeting goes well, you will submit payment electronically and be able to take your new family member home with you immediately! If for whatever reason you do not take the animal home after the first meeting, please understand that we will continue to process applications for the animal and availability is not guaranteed. 4. Tragically, his companion didn’t make it—but Barry was rescued just in the nick of time. And while his past is heartbreaking, this sweet boy is now safe and sound. Barry is ready to trade in highway traffic for belly rubs, cozy couches, and a forever family who will never let him down again. Barry is also housebroken, loves the water and gets along well with other dogs, so he would be happy to have a doggy buddy or be your one and only. Barry has tested positive for heartworm, but with treatment provided by K-9 Lifesavers, he'll be feeling fine in no time.     Barry’s been through a lot, but you’d never know it from his kind, resilient spirit. All he’s missing now is a family to show him what happily-ever-after really looks like. Ready to give Barry the life he deserves?  Apply today! To learn more about heartworm please visit: https://www.webmd.com/pets/dogs/features/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-mythsYour pet will require a refresher in house-training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. At about 45 pounds, Fozzie is the perfect “just right” size—big enough for adventures, small enough to still think he might fit in your lap if the mood strikes. He’s a friendly fellow who enjoys people and, as an added bonus, gets along great with other dogs.     When Fozzie Howie was rescued, he was in pretty rough shape and desperately needed a good grooming (be sure to check out his video). Luckily, he has since enjoyed a much-deserved spa day, and underneath all that fur was one very handsome—and very happy—fella. Now that he’s cleaned up and feeling like his fabulous self again, Fozzie Howie is ready to focus on what really matters:  finding a forever home and family who will love him, keep him looking sharp, and give him the safe, happy life he deserves. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Willow came from a shelter where she wasn’t doing well, but since moving into her foster home, she’s completely come out of her shell and is now LOVING life. She’s an absolute sweetheart who soaks up attention and is truly one of the kindest, most loving dogs you’ll ever meet. :) Willow also enjoys playing with other dogs and really shines in a social, active environment. Because of this, her ideal home must include another dog her size and a fenced yard where she can safely play, explore, and continue being her happiest self. :) REQUIREMENTS: Fenced Yard, Another dog her size Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Sierra is our 5-year-old poodle and a very loved part of our family. She is sweet, loyal, playful, and very intelligent. She also has a goofy side and a big personality that will keep you smiling. Sierra loves being around people and truly bonds with her person whether she’s playing or just relaxing nearby. As we’ve gotten older, with health issues we’ve realized we can’t give her the level of exercise and attention she deserves. This has been a very difficult decision for us. We are looking for a loving, stable home where she will be treated like family and given the time, care, and activity she needs. Sierra is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and will come with her supplies. We want nothing more than to see her go to a home where she will be truly loved and well cared for.
