Story
Hello! This sweet girl's name is Kiczi. She was a neighborhood cat for a few years until she became pregnant. Then she moved in with us in January 2026. She had 4 pretty kittens and they have all found their forever homes. Now its her turn! I would love to keep this sweet, loving, purr-fect girl, but I have two dogs and she is quite scared of dogs. We have gotten her spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. Please let us know if you are interested in this sweet girl!

Story
Xander is a talkative, gorgeous and incredibly sweet 10-month-old, 9-pound, male brown tabby and white tuxedo cat with golden amber eyes looking for a loving guardian. This super sweet young guy was rescued after being found in a feral colony. He was a bit shy at first and not great about being picked up, but LOVES to snuggle – especially in bed. Xander is perfectly well-behaved in the home and uses his litter box like a good boy. He loves toys, and drools and purrs when being loved by his human. He is dewormed, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped, and virus-tested negative. He was also treated with Revolution as flea prevention. He’s ear-tipped because we assumed he was a feral cat. But, he’s so friendly and far from feral. To meet and possibly adopt handsome and loving Xander, please fill out an adoption application https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/ After the application is complete, please contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to schedule an appointment to meet him. His adoption fee of $175 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. He is currently being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.

Story
Oscar is an orange and white striped Tabby. This little guy was found and brought to our local animal care and control in early September 2024. His birthday is guesstimated to be around September 1st. He and his littermates: Ashley, Billy, Bob, Blue, Fox, Jeff, and Smoke joined our rescue on September 27, 2024. Oscar is currently living in a home with other cats and dogs. Oscar spends his day playing hide and seek. He is a quiet cat. He is litter box trained and not very needy. His favorite time of the day is meal-time. Adoption Process Caring Animal Rescue Inc believes that every animal deserves a good home, but we also believe that not every animal is right for every home. We take the time to learn about an animal's behavior and match it with the lifestyle of potential adopters. All applicants must submit an online adoption application. You must provide verifiable vet references, verifiable address match, and character references. If you list that you are the owner of a home, we will verify property records. If you list that you are a tenant, we will verify that pets are allowed on your lease agreement with your tenant. By applying to adopt, you are agreeing that we have permission to contact your vet, landlord, and character references. If you do not agree with our screening process, please do not apply. Applicants must agree to our screening processes before a meet and greet, and at-home visit is scheduled. All existing animals within the home must be up to date with vaccinations and spayed/ neutered. All kittens under 9 months old will be adopted in pairs unless there is an existing cat in the home. Completing our application does not guarantee that you will be matched with one of our animals. We are under no obligation to disclose our reason(s) for our decision. Please note: Our adoption fees will vary. Our Adoption Process: 1. Please apply here: https://www.caringanimalrescueinc.com/adoption-form We require applications to be completed in their entirety. Any application with questions not answered fully will not be considered complete and will not be processed. 2. Please note that we are volunteers. We do not have any paid staff. All applications are processed outside of our normal non-rescue jobs. An application does not guarantee approval of adoption. Our decision is based on what is the best fit for our dogs and cats. We will call your character references, landlord if applicable, as well as your vet and any other necessary calls needed to approve or deny an application. 3. Phone or email interview. We will notify you if your application is approved. 4. Meet and greet - we will only schedule meet and greets for those who have passed steps 1-3. We ask that you come to our facility for the initial meet and greet. If you have children, roommates, or other dogs, they must also be present. 5. Home visit/ Pet meet and greet - we want to make sure that all humans and pets are a good match! Due to the requirement of home visits, we are currently adopting only 25 miles or less of our location. The distance is at our discretion, as we must factor in gas and round-trip travel time. We are not currently adopting out-of-state. We have chosen a small radius near our facility to provide support to our adopted animals and their new families. Caring Animal Rescue Inc. does not have any paid staff. All monies, adoption fees, donations, etc., go directly to paying for the shelter and care of the animals in our rescue. If all goes well at the home visit, the pet can stay, and we will move on to step 6. 6. Adoption Finalization - sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee - we accept cash, checks, Venmo, or PayPal. Please note that there is an additional processing fee for PayPal and Venmo. What does your adoption fee cover? Dogs: Age-appropriate vaccinations such as Rabies ( must be 3-4 months of age determined by our vet), DA2PP, and Bordetella. Spay/ Neuter Heartworm Snap Test for dogs 6 months and older. Microchip Deworming Flea/Tick, HW meds, and antibiotics (if needed) while in our care. Cats Age-appropriate vaccinations such as Rabies ( must be 3-4 months of age, determined by our vet) and FVRCP vaccinations. Spay/ Neuter Microchip Deworming Flea/Tick and antibiotics ( if needed) while in our care.

Story
Meet Magic!Magic is a distinguished tuxedo gentleman with a heart as big as his personality. Currently on a healthy weight loss journey, he’s making great progress and would love a home that can continue supporting his goals (and maybe resist those extra treats he’ll politely beg for). This charming older boy is equal parts shy and affectionate. He may take a moment to settle in, but once he does, he quickly reveals his true nature—a giant cuddle bug who absolutely adores cozy time, especially if there’s a blanket involved. If you’re curled up, expect Magic to find his way right to you.True to his name, Magic is a bit of a night owl. When the house quiets down, he comes to life, seeking out companionship and snuggles—even if you’re trying to sleep! He would thrive in a home that appreciates his nighttime routine and gentle, loving personality. He also has a playful, curious side and enjoys finding the perfect hiding spot where he can observe the world (or nap in peace).Magic is looking for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe, cozy, and cherished. If you’re searching for a quiet companion with a soft spot for snuggles and a touch of nighttime charm, Magic may be your perfect match.THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process! Raised in a nurturing foster home alongside Fable’s family, this kitten has learned all the important social skills—how to play, cuddle, and trust. Now full of curiosity and kitten energy, they love exploring their surroundings, chasing toys, and curling up for cozy naps after a good play session. With a sweet and affectionate personality, this little one is ready to find a forever home where they can continue to grow, feel safe, and share plenty of love and companionship.THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process!
