Story
Meet Mama Pixie, an adorably shy little brave girl who spent her early years as a stray. From kittenhood to adulthood, Mama Pixie learned to eke out an existence and survive in the harsh world into which she was born. Somewhere between the boundary of fear and need, Mama Pixie befriended a human who reached out to her with offerings of food and shelter. Having three kittens in tow, she was justifiably cautious at first, but she slowly began to overcome her fears and was able to accept the aid. Since entering foster care, Mama Pixie’s kittens have all been adopted and now it is time to find her the purfect loving forever home she deserves.
Mama Pixie is currently living in a quiet home with adults, enjoying the comforts and company in her new indoor life. She’s a kitty that radiates a calm vibe and thrives in a serene environment. Being on the shyer side, an appropriate fit for Mama Pixie would be in a household that is on the quieter side with adults who are seasoned and patient in helping a timid cat requiring a little extra-special TLC, and a loving home where she can relax and be herself. She could do well with responsibly mature, supervised young adults who will be always mindful to be respectful of her boundaries. Let Mama Pixie grow and adapt at her own pace and you will find her to be a gentle cat willing to love and be loved.
Slowly over time and with patience, Mama Pixie will come to accept your soft pets in moments of calm, once she gets to know you. Being careful not to make her feel trapped to where she has no escape is important to Mama Pixie, thus she is uncomfortable being held or picked up and is not for someone looking for a cat to cuddle. As a shy little girl, having other calm feline companions around has helped to boost Mama Pixie’s comfort. Mama Pixie is living with three friendly cats, male and female, although she clearly has shown a consistent partiality toward her male companions, grooming and laying next to them. She can be a solo cat in a home, but appreciates having another calm feline friend, her preference being a male.
Mama Pixie will come to you at feeding time and show gratitude for the gifts you bring. She will share her joy while playing with her favorite toys. She revels in a warm sunbeam, lounging in a soft blanket, and delights in the activities of creatures visible through the window of her favorite spot. Mama Pixie has a peaceful energy about her and thrives where quietness reigns over noise and chaos.
To share a life with Mama Pixie, be always mindful that her feeling safe is paramount to her happiness.
