Story
I got Aspen about 7 years ago from KHS in Wichita, she was very shy and reserved with all the staff but when i asked to see her she walked right up to me and crawled into my arms. Shes always been very sweet and docile - drools when loved on which i have always adored. I believe she is close to 8/9 years old, i recently had a baby who is 11 months and mobile now. Since the baby has been born and we have moved into a larger house, she has been very secluded and anxious. She hardly comes out of her catio and i just feel like her quality of life is not the best anymore because shes so anxious and stressed. I would love for her to go to a home with a older person who is quite and has all the time in the world for her - she deserves to be able to sleep in the bed with a person again and sit on the couch for love. Aspen is such a sweet soul, shy but once she warms up shes such a cuddle dud. I feel horrible and have fought this idea for a long time, but she deserves the world.

Story
Hello everyone, my name is Grey Star, which fits me because I am a regal kitty with brilliant green eyes! Although I am sometimes cautious, I really do love people and enjoy being around them. My meow is pleasant and is used to ask for attention, mostly petting and conversation. My previous owner was killed by a drunk driver, so my friends and I had to find another place to go. Every day I long to have a home of my own, where I belong, with people and animals who love me. And I promise that I will return the love tenfold. Please give me that chance. I was an inside only cat, but now I am allowed to venture out to an enclosed deck, where I spend a good deal of time. I would be comfortable being only indoors, but would appreciate an open window so I can feel the sunshine and enjoy fresh air.

Story
Tank is such a special cat and his next home will be so lucky to have him. Tank is currently 9 years old and was adopted from a shelter and kept on a farm. The original adopters had asked me to take him, as their environment was becoming dangerous for Tank. Tank has been THE BEST indoor cat,and quickly befriended our 4-year-old border collie. Recently our living situation has changed and we simply do not have the time to dedicate to Tank what he deserves. He is a goofy cat, and deserves a stable home environment with lots of snuggles and attention. He quickly partnered up with our dog and I believe he could learn to love another dog who likes cats. He is a declawed, spayed, and loves people. While he is a little chubby at 17lbs, this makes for the perfect cuddler. You may catch him hanging around belly up once he gets comfortable.

Story
My cat Romie is 4 and a half. I rescued him from helping hands 3 and a half years ago for my close friend Phil that lived in Lawrence with a disability that was older + home all the time. He loved romie but had a stroke + had to leave romie behind in his house back in April alone for 3 months. He moved into assisted living and lost his house back in September. I took romie home to my house in July and he doesn't get along with my 2 female cats at all or I would love to keep him. He is very playful + a good kitty. It has just been 5 months of trying to get him happy with my cats + it just seems like he never will be happy with them. I have to keep romie separate from them most of the time. I just want him to be happy 😊 he needs to be with someone that doesn't have any other animals..he is a indoor cat but loves a screened in porch. I just want to give him a good life...

Story
Apolo was rescued from an infested home after weening. We were fostering him for a friend as we had adopted the other two kittens in his litter. We were able to fully vaccinate and fix the female before HHHS would not contact us after an application for the boys and we had called to set an appointment but was told to fill out another form. The other male was adopted to a new home because the boys would fight. Apolo's original planned owner did not grow attached and does not want him anymore. He is sweet with people, a bit loud in his meow, and a semi toned kind of fat at 18 to 19 pounds. He loves to be brushed, get cuddles under your chin, and will play with toys. We struggle to keep him as he has yet to be fixed and finances have not allowed lately and he has a territorial behavior around other male cats and unfixed females. We live in a trailer and there are strays that come to the door that he smells and marks. He needs someone who can fix him and give him all the love.
