Story
We adopted her from ACC in NYC . She is 2 and a half years old . Would do best in a home with no children . ABBEY'S past is unknown as the person that surrendered her in New York had a language barrier and what was relayed to us was that he couldn't keep her for unknown reasons. Abbey has revealed in her behavior that she was mistreated or neglected in some way. She is a little bit untrusting and has to gain your trust. She will adjust if given reassurance and some quiet space to rest and get used to new voices and surroundings. She especially loves Churu snacks and all treats in general. Abbey has a very Good appetite and loves to eat. She isn't picky at all about food choices. She likes to relax on the human bed but likes her own bed too with some privacy. When She feels safe. She will lay next to her human and stretch out. She especially loves the play mice toys and will surprise you with a steady game of fetch the mouse.

Story
Hi! I’m Sammy. I’m about 3–4 years old, and I’m a boy with a very gentle heart. I might seem a little shy at first, I had a rough start, so it took me about two months in my foster mama’s home to finally feel safe and come out of my shell. But once I knew I was loved, everything changed. Now I’m the sweetest, cuddliest boy ever. I don’t just sit next to you, I’ll be right on top of you if you let me. It’s pretty much constant cuddles and little chats from me. I might take a bit of time, but when I trust you… I’m all in 🤍

Story
Hi, I’m Ellie. I’m a 3-year-old female cat. I love quiet corners where I can watch the world softly. I’m quite the thinker, you know? My days are filled with gentle play and little adventures around my cozy nook. I lived in a home with a playful male cat and this was too much for me. I’m better as an only cat or in a home with more laid back cats. I might be a bit shy at first, but give me a little time, and I’ll show you my goofy side. I’m looking for someone who appreciates a sweet, mellow companion. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to add warmth to your home, I’m your girl. Let’s make our own quiet, happy world together.

Story
Hello! I’m Goldie, a 2½‑year‑old orange tabby with snowy white patches. I’ve had a tough start in life, so I take a little Prozac to help my me feel steady and secure. Don’t worry — I’m very good about taking it when you mix it into my wet food. I eat every bite. But between you and me? Dry food is the true love of my life. My Foster Parents Say: I’ve made amazing progress. I’m proud of myself, too! I have excellent litter‑box manners. I like routine, calm spaces, and humans who understand that sometimes a girl needs a little room to settle in. My Favorite Hobbies: -Bird‑watching and “hunting” from my window throne -Doing short bursts of playtime (I’m an Olympic sprinter, not a marathoner) -Rolling onto my back and showing off my fuzzy belly -Sometimes you can rub it, sometimes you cannot (I will not be providing a schedule) -Sitting in the same room as you because I like your company -Coming when you call me and inspecting everything you’re doing (yes, I’m that kind of cat and I need to be in the know!) -Curling up on the couch near you… or in your bed… or in any cardboard box you leave lying around My Dream Home: I would thrive in a quiet, peaceful home with no other pets. I’m a sensitive girl, and I need a patient, experienced cat person who understands that while I am VERY cute and make adorable little meows… …I also need space and time to feel safe. Once I trust you, I’ll follow you around, hang out near you, and maybe even present my extremely precious belly for admiration. So… Want to Love a Cat Who’s Soft, Silly, Sweet, and a Little Bit Special? If you’re looking for a companion who will adore being near you, come when called, nap in boxes, watch the world with curiosity, and bloom beautifully with patience and kindness… I think that companion might be me. Love, Goldie P.S. After a month in my foster home (as of 3/28/26), I’m doing so well. You can pick me up now and I’ll start purring, which is a big deal for me. I still get scared sometimes and I’m not always in the mood for pets, but I do want to be near you. I’ll follow you around the house like your slightly anxious little supervisor and keep track of everything you’re doing. I also have a playful side and I really need daily playtime to help me feel my best. Wand toys and stick toys are my favorite, and I love to run back and forth hunting my toy mice like a tiny athlete. I’m a little quirky, a little dramatic, and definitely my own person, but I’m getting braver every day. In a quiet, loving forever home, I truly believe I’ll keep blossoming and could even be weaned off my Prozac with time and patience.

Story
Meet Danny 🐾 This tiny little boy has already been through more than most. At just 2 months old and barely 2 lbs, Danny was found in a Burger King parking lot alongside his mama, trying to survive. Thanks to his rescue, he now has a chance at the safe, loving life he deserves. And trust me—these pictures do zero justice to how small he is. He is unbelievably tiny. The kind of tiny that makes you do a double take when you see him in person. Danny is a bit shy and scared at first, which is no surprise given his rough start. But give him a little time, a gentle voice, and some patience, and you’ll start to see his true self shine. Once he feels safe, he warms up, leans in close, and rewards you with the sweetest little purrs. He’s looking for a home that will give him the love, security, and kindness he’s been missing—a place where he can grow from a timid baby into a confident, happy cat.

Story
Meet Stark! Stark is a just-over-6-year-old cat who is searching for a calm, patient home to finally call his own. He was originally found locally in a cat colony, and while his past is a bit of a mystery, it’s unknown whether he was once a house cat or has always lived life on the streets.Stark will need an extremely patient adopter who understands that his adjustment period will be slow and gradual. In a new environment, he is very likely to hide for an extended period of time and may hiss when feeling scared or overwhelmed. This is part of his process as he learns to feel safe, and he should be given all the time he needs without pressure or expectation. Because of his sensitive nature, Stark would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with no children. He may benefit from the presence of a calm, confident cat companion who can help him feel more secure and model comfort in a home setting, though any feline introductions should be done very slowly and thoughtfully.Stark accepts gentle pets, but entirely on his own terms, and building trust with him will take time, patience, and consistency. A bond with him may not happen quickly, but with respect and understanding, he can gradually begin to open up. Stark is also considered a special needs adoption due to being cryptorchid. This condition will be important to discuss with your regular veterinarian. If the retained right testicle is ever located in the future, Cape Ann Animal Aid will remove the testicle for the adopter at no cost. For the right home willing to move at his pace, Stark has the potential to slowly gain confidence and experience comfort, safety, and trust in his own time. Are you willing to give Stark the loving home he deserves?Apply today at: capeannanimalaid.org/catapp
