Story
My name is Ralph and I'm a friendly 1 yr old male cat. I was living on the streets so my fur is not the greatest but it improves each day and I get brushed and continue to groom myself as well. I'm a very friendly guy who settles into my environment very quickly. I have tolerated the dog as long as he doesn't show interest in me. So with a mellow dog, I could do well but I would also do well with a female feline companion. I'm playful and absolutely affectionate seeking out your love and attention whenever I see you.

Story
“We’ll be friends forever, won’t we, Pooh?’ asked Piglet. Even longer,’ Pooh answered.” Why Hello! We are Fawkes (Gray and white 5 year old male) and Maple (Tabico (5 month female). We are a bond BEST FRIENDS duo! Our foster Mom sometimes says we remind her of Winnie the Pooh (Fawkes) and Piglet (Maple). Behind our adorable faces is a story of resilience and love. We both came to kitty connection as strays at different times. We ended up getting adopted but sadly had to come back to kitty connection due to extenuating circumstances. Although we were sad to lose our home we met each other in that home and fell in love. We are now on our next journey TOGETHER. When I Fawkes first came to Kitty Connection I had a terrible eye injury. I was able to get the treatment I needed and had my eye removed. I recently also had to have several teeth removed which Kitty Connection is helping me with as well. I am happy to have that behind me! I am feeling better and am not afraid to show it! I am a sweet ball of joy, gentle , sweet and loving. I like to snuggle with my best friend Maple and my foster parents. I love my Maple very much and protect her and make her feel at ease. Maple can be anxious at times and I am there to make her feel calm and safe. I, Maple, was born outside. A nice lady came to help me, but was told I wasn’t friendly enough to adjust to living inside. She didn’t want to give up on me and brought me to Kitty Connection. It was hard for me to adjust at first, but I am learning how nice these humans can be. As they have extended their hand to me I am learning to extend my paw back! My foster parents are patient with me, and understand it takes time for me to trust. The key to my heart is play time! I love playing with my foster Dad. The wand toy is my favorite. I love to play with Fawkes and cuddle as well! Play time here we come! Zoomies?? I GOT THAT. Because I am still learning to fully trust humans, it's important for my forever parents to understand I am shy and anxious at times. My best friend Fawkes helps me feel safe, secure, and gives me the confidence to be more brave on this journey that I am on. Always reminding me that I am never alone and I always have my Fawkes by my side. We are looking for a quiet home where our forever parents understand our journey! Forever parents who understand it will take some patience with Maple and give Maple and Fawkes all the TLC they need. Are you ready to go on this special journey with us? We can’t wait to find you.

Story
Hello! I’m Goldie, a 2½‑year‑old orange tabby with snowy white patches. I’ve had a tough start in life, so I take a little Prozac to help my me feel steady and secure. Don’t worry — I’m very good about taking it when you mix it into my wet food. I eat every bite. But between you and me? Dry food is the true love of my life. My Foster Parents Say: I’ve made amazing progress. I’m proud of myself, too! I have excellent litter‑box manners. I like routine, calm spaces, and humans who understand that sometimes a girl needs a little room to settle in. My Favorite Hobbies: -Bird‑watching and “hunting” from my window throne -Doing short bursts of playtime (I’m an Olympic sprinter, not a marathoner) -Rolling onto my back and showing off my fuzzy belly -Sometimes you can rub it, sometimes you cannot (I will not be providing a schedule) -Sitting in the same room as you because I like your company -Coming when you call me and inspecting everything you’re doing (yes, I’m that kind of cat and I need to be in the know!) -Curling up on the couch near you… or in your bed… or in any cardboard box you leave lying around My Dream Home: I would thrive in a quiet, peaceful home with no other pets. I’m a sensitive girl, and I need a patient, experienced cat person who understands that while I am VERY cute and make adorable little meows… …I also need space and time to feel safe. Once I trust you, I’ll follow you around, hang out near you, and maybe even present my extremely precious belly for admiration. So… Want to Love a Cat Who’s Soft, Silly, Sweet, and a Little Bit Special? If you’re looking for a companion who will adore being near you, come when called, nap in boxes, watch the world with curiosity, and bloom beautifully with patience and kindness… I think that companion might be me. Love, Goldie P.S. After a month in my foster home (as of 3/28/26), I’m doing so well. You can pick me up now and I’ll start purring, which is a big deal for me. I still get scared sometimes and I’m not always in the mood for pets, but I do want to be near you. I’ll follow you around the house like your slightly anxious little supervisor and keep track of everything you’re doing. I also have a playful side and I really need daily playtime to help me feel my best. Wand toys and stick toys are my favorite, and I love to run back and forth hunting my toy mice like a tiny athlete. I’m a little quirky, a little dramatic, and definitely my own person, but I’m getting braver every day. In a quiet, loving forever home, I truly believe I’ll keep blossoming and could even be weaned off my Prozac with time and patience.

Story
Hi - My name is Ellie and I’m a sweet and shy 3 year old female tabby. This is my second time with Kitty Connection. My original adopters didn’t feel like I was a good fit anymore so I’m back with Kitty Connection and looking for people who are patient and kind. I start off spicy, but I’m just afraid. Once I settle in, I love being around quiet humans and my foster mom’s quiet cats. I was originally in a home with a male kitty who had a lot of energy and that was too much for me. I love to play, but mostly by myself at night – although sometimes I’ll play with a wand toy with my foster mom. Her cats come in to say hello and then they go about their business which is just fine with me. I like to see them interact with my foster mom as it assures me that she’s a safe person. I think I’d like a home with other quiet and mellow kitties who don’t mind if I do my own thing. I wouldn’t like a home with a lot of people or kids who make a lot of noise and dogs are probably not something I would be comfortable with. Check out some of the videos my foster mom has taken. I tend to be afraid the first few minutes she’s with me and then she offers me a treat and I remember I like her. She’s very patient and tells me I’m pretty.

Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Minnow is a 5 year old neutered male cat. Here’s what his foster volunteers say about him: How would you describe the cat's general personality?  Minnow is a sweet, social boy who loves to be around his humans as well as any other pets in the house too.  He is playful and food driven, making him easy to please! He spent his first few years in an abusive home (he was kicked, had his tail pulled, and had things thrown at him, through no fault of his own), making it even more meaningful how much he still trusts and admires humans. Does the cat enjoy being pet?  Yes, Minnow loves to be pet!  He closes his eyes and purrs when he's really enjoying it. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?  His favorite spots seem to be behind his ears, the top of his neck, and his back. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?  None that we've noticed, but as a general rule I never pet cats on their bellies, so do so at your own risk! Does the cat come on your lap?  Occasionally, usually if there is a Churu treat involved. Does the cat like to be held?  Yes, Minnow is fine being picked up and held by us. Does the cat sleep in your bed?  Yes he does.  He's a great snuggler.  He's started to learn our bedtime routine, and sometimes comes onto the bed before us as though he's waiting for us. Does the cat seek your attention?  Yes, when he's feeling adventurous he'll come when call his name.  He often likes to be where the action is, but like most cats sometimes he'll go off and do his own thing. Does the cat like to play?  Yes, he is very playful! What are the cat's favorite games and toys?  We find that string toys are his favorite, but he'll also play with small stuffed toys.  We have an interactive toy that pops a feather out of random holes in a cube, which keeps him entertained for a long time. How vocal is the cat?  He mostly meows when he knows he's about to be fed.  He also purrs enthusiastically when being pet. What kinds of sounds does the cat make?  He's got a really cute, high pitched meow.  He also has a deep purr that we often hear when petting him. Does the cat scratch a scratcher?  Yes, he has a few in his room and we see him using them regularly. If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box?  Yes, Minnow has never had an accident with us. If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating?  We feed him a little under a quarter of a cup of dry food in the morning, and a can of wet food in the evening.  We don't free feed Minnow because there are other hungry pets in the house. Is the cat picky about food?  No, he eats everything! What is the cat's favorite treat?  Churus are his favorite by far.  He ate one out of my hand within 10 minutes of arriving at our house. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?  Once when I was running up the stairs in a hurry, he tried to wrap his front paws around my leg without claws.  I think he thought I was trying to be playful. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?   Once, when he was feeling very overstimulated from too much petting, he did the classic cat "bunny kick," where he gripped my arm with the front paws and scratched with the back.  However, this is the only time he's scratched since we've fostered him. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?  When he's feeling really playful, he'll sometime do a very light, gentle nip.  This usually comes after a minute or two of petting when he decides he wants to play or that he's had enough petting.  However, we've been training him not to by redirecting him with a toy or by simply walking away. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?  No, Minnow has never tried to bite us. However, when he was surrendered and placed in his first foster home, Minnow did bite a few times when overstimulated. They said it’s easy to know when this is about to happen as he opens his mouth up slightly. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?  We had a few people over the other night, including two school aged children, and Minnow did great with all of them!  He is a social, curious boy who likes to be where the action is.   If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on?  We have two resident cats and a 3-year-old dog living in our house. After isolating Minnow for a week to let him acclimate, he integrated with our pets very quickly.  Even when our own cats hissed at him when first he approached, he didn't react at all.  Within a few hours our cats accepted him, and by the following night Minnow actually took a nap snuggled up against our dog on the couch! Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?  Minnow's meow is super cute and affectionate, and will make anybody want to come over and start petting him.  He'll start purring within seconds of petting him behind his ears.  When you go to feed him, he'll start meowing to show how excited he is, which is adorable.  He's a grey cat, but he's got little white "booties" on all four of his paws.  Most importantly, he loves humans and other animals despite his past abuse. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt?  Minnow is a sweet, gentle boy who came from a background of abuse by his first owners (see question 1).  Despite this, he loves not only people, but also other cats and dogs. If we didn't already have two cats of our own, we would be applying to keep him ourselves! What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them?   The biggest challenge is the gentle nipping when he becomes overstimulated from excessive petting.  This is pretty rare (maybe a few times a week), and it's fairly easy to recognize the warning signs (he'll usually raise a paw, and sometimes his bottom lip will curl back so you can see his lower gum).  We find that if he starts to gently nip when we're petting him, give him a toy to play with instead.  If he nips again the next time we pet him, we usually walk away, and five minutes later he's usually back to loafing somewhere, willing to accept pets again.  We also noticed his behavior improved once he was no longer confined to his foster room and had more freedom to interact with us on his own terms.  As his foster parents, we have found Minnow's nipping to be very manageable, but any potential adopter should understand that like many cats, he communicates when he's had enough petting and would like a little time to himself.  Minnow currently takes a low dose of Prozac happily in a pill pocket. Story
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Bari and Gigi are a strongly bonded pair of female cats, spayed and up to date on vaccines. Bari has a larger white locket and is estimated to be around 8 months old. Gigi has a smaller white locket and is estimated to be 1 year old. They must go home together. Here’s what their foster volunteer says about them: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Bari is very friendly and playful. She can be a bit skittish at times, but typically is eager for interaction, loves pets and playing. She is very protective of Gigi, sitting next to the food bowl or litterbox while Gigi is using it, and the two can often be found chattering to each other as they go together to eat or rest. Gigi is more nervous but every week gets more comfortable in showing her sweet personality – she enjoys pets on her terms and if approached calmly will happily headbutt for pets. They both make significant social gains with each passing week, revealing more and more of what will likely be very affectionate personalities once they are more comfortable with their new home. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Both cats very much enjoy being pet. They prefer to be approached calmly and from a sitting position. Head/chin scratches are favored. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No Does the cat come on your lap? Bari will very briefly venture onto my lap or stay there for a minute when placed. Gigi is not yet comfortable enough. Does the cat like to be held? Bari will accept being held for short periods of time, but prefers to run around and play. I have not tried to hold Gigi. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Bari will quite happily spend time lying on the bed with me getting pets. Gigi will lay on the bed, but not when I am there. Does the cat seek your attention? Bari more so than Gigi will seek attention. Bari loves pets and playing. Gigi definitely enjoys pets, but is more nervous and so has taken more time to come out of her shell. Does the cat like to play? They both love playing and will spend a lot of time playing with each other or with me. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? They absolutely love wand toys and will jump and dash around for anything on a string. How vocal is the cat? They are extremely vocal, both to me and to each other. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Bari in particular is full of kitten-esque squeaking when I come home and when she is waiting for food. They both chatter and coo to each other very frequently, often preceding a group trip to another room or to food. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Bari uses the scratcher frequently. I have not yet seen Gigi use one. If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, always. Even in the early days when they were more tentative about venturing around the house, they would always use the litter box. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? They both get a 3oz can of wet food in the morning and a snack of wet food in the evening. They share 1 cup of dry food twice daily. Is the cat picky about food? No What is the cat's favorite treat? They absolutely love Churu and Temptations. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? They have never swatted. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? Gigi has scratched in the process of trying to escape when being put in a carrier, but never appeared to show aggression in any way. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Bari will nip while playing occasionally Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. She did bite a previous Foster Volunteer while being pushed into a carrier. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? They are both nervous around new people, but can be coaxed out with food/treats. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? It’s a joy to watch them interact with each other – they will lay on top of each other, headbutt/rub against each other and chatter throughout the day. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? These cats will need a patient and invested new family to bring out their clearly affectionate personalities as they acclimate to indoor, social life. The best part has been watching them grow more comfortable and show more of their personalities. One day, Bari started jumping up on my bed when I wasn’t there, and by the end of the day they were sleeping there together and later that night Bari jumped up for pets. With each passing week they become more outgoing and friendly. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? They are both skittish in the setting of their prior outdoor life. They have adapted remarkably well and it has been fun to watch them become more comfortable with each passing week. Letting them interact on their own terms has proved very effective in drawing out their personalities. Bari has juvenile periodontitis and may need a full extraction in the future. The vets who have treated her so far feel she's too young to undergo that procedure prior to adoption. Gigi has a dislocated ankle that could be fine forever or could shift and need a realignment surgery down the road. Black Cat Rescue is willing to help financially with these procedures in order to ensure Bari and Gigi get the chance they deserve. Social? Fearful? extremely fearful and avoidant   If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? n/a Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? based on some of my area rugs that i find askew in the morning, he occasionally gets the zoomies at night!   In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Lagoon is opening up, very slowly but surely. Initially he hid under my bed and wouldn't come out at all while i was awake. Over the weeks, he has slowly been coming out in the evening. He loves to sit in a windowsill! I think with an extremely patient person, he will come to trust more.   What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Lagoon is very fearful and not interested in interacting with humans right now. He's made a lot of progress over the weeks, coming out a bit more frequently and hanging out.  He loves food and I recently discovered he loves catnip so those have been tools to gain trust.    To learn more about adopting this cat in Massachusetts, please visit www.blackcatrescue.com or fill out an Adoption Profile at https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston.  May 26, 2026, 11:20 am
