Story
Kisa: Elder Sweetheart Seeking a Lap to Land On 🐾 I’m Kisa, a 14-year-old Siamese-mix sweetheart. My mom went to the hospital and isn't coming home, so I’m looking for a final cozy spot to call my own. I am a professional cuddler! I’m quiet, dog-friendly, and my absolute favorite thing is nesting on a warm lap or chest. I’m mostly calm, though I still love the occasional laser pointer chase. The Realities: I’m a "senior with quirks." I always pee in my litterbox, but I usually prefer pee pads for pooping. I sometimes pull out small chunks of my fur when restless, and I can be scratchy with furniture when I’m excited. Health: I have a growth on my colon (suspected lymphoma) and take daily Prednisone. I need a gentle owner who can keep an eye on my digestion and bowel movements. I know I’m a "special ask," but I have so much love to give. If you have an open heart and a spare lap for my golden years, I can’t wait to meet you! Love, Kisa

Story
Joela is a sweet girl just over 9 months old who made the journey from North Carolina to Massachusetts in hopes of finding her forever home. She was found tucked away in a flower bed with her mom and sibling, and thanks to a kind finder, the little family was brought to safety.Joela is on the shyer side and would do best in a calm, low–foot traffic home where she can settle in at her own pace and feel secure. While she’s still learning to fully trust humans, she’s slowly coming out of her shell each day. She loves to play and is especially motivated by treats, which help her build confidence and positive associations. Joela would thrive in a single- or multi-cat household, particularly with other playful cats who can help show her the ropes and bring out her playful side. With patience and a gentle approach, Joela will make a wonderful companion. Joela is now part of our extended stay program which means her fee has been reduced in hopes to find her a home sooner. Story
Buttercup is a sweet, just-over-a-year-old kitty who’s looking for a calm, understanding home to call her own. She’s quite shy and will do best in a quiet household with someone who truly understands that trust takes time. Buttercup may need weeks—or even months—to fully come out of her shell, and that’s okay. Gentle voices, slow movements, and a patient heart will help her feel safe and secure. Once she starts to trust you, she will accept gentle pets and will headbutt you for more. While she may not be the type to seek immediate attention, Buttercup has the potential to blossom into a loving companion once she knows she’s safe. For the right person willing to go at her pace, watching Buttercup gain confidence will be incredibly rewarding. Buttercup has joined our extended stay program, meaning her fees have been reduced in hopes of finding her forever home!Does Buttercup sound like the right fit for you?Apply for her today at capeannanimalaid.org/catapp

Meet Rafael — a handsome young boy who’s just over 5 months old and ready to find his forever home! Rafael made his way all the way to Massachusetts from Puerto Rico in hopes of finding the loving family he deserves. He’s a sweet kitty at heart, but he can be shy at first and may need a little extra time to feel safe and comfortable in a new environment and around new people. With patience, gentle interactions, and a calm space to settle in, Rafael will begin to show more of his true personality. Rafael would most likely do best in a home with a friendly resident cat who can help show him the ropes and give him the confidence he needs to come out of his shell. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who just needs some time and understanding to blossom, Rafael could be the perfect match.Apply today at: capeannanimalaid.org/catapp

Story
Meet Adam! Adam is a gentle, affectionate feline who absolutely lives for attention. He loves to be pet. Whether it’s a slow chin scratch, a long back stroke, or a cozy cuddle session, he leans in with a happy purr every time. Adam is part of a Bonded Pair with is pal, Ethan. They love each other so much that we think it`s best they go home together. With his warm personality and love for companionship, Adam brings comfort and harmony to every place he’s part of.Adam is considered special needs because he`s been diagnosed with his lower jaw being short (overbite) and missing his lower incisors. Due to the nature of the way he cat came to the shelter, we have no medical history for him, so it is not able to be determined if the canines were removed surgically or did not grow in. The short mandible and the normal appearance of the rest of the teeth indicate that this cat may have had previous dental surgery to remove the lower canines and resolve a malocclusion of the jaws. This condition does not create a negative impact on his quality of life at this time.It will be important to discuss this case with your regular veterinarian. He and his brother Ethan came down with Calicivirus AKA `Cat Flu`, they have been medically cleared by our vet team and deemed healthy. However there is a chance they could be carriers of the virus even after treatment, so we think it`s best they be the only two cats in the home.Ethan and Adam are currently settling into a cozy foster home and have adjusted beautifully. They warmed up very quickly and were snuggled up in their foster’s lap before their first night was even over.Their foster since being in her home, Ethan has shown himself to be a true lap cat — if you’re sitting or lying down, he’ll happily curl up on your lap (or shoulder, head, or whatever body part he can find). He makes an excellent coworker and movie buddy. Adam is a little less in-your-face but is almost always close by. He enjoys being involved and can often be found supervising while you cook or clean. They do a great job entertaining each other but are always happy to join in for a shared snuggle. If one is on one side of you, chances are the other will be right on the opposite side.Adam & Ethan have joined our extended stay club, meaning their fees have been reduced in hopes of finding their forever home!Want to meet with Adam? capeannanimalaid.org/catapp
