Third Time’s The Charm found herself in the shelter after her owner passed away unexpectedly. A naturally meek and sensitive girl, the sudden loss and shelter environment left her heartbroken and overwhelmed. To make matters harder, she was suffering from heartworms—which put her at risk of euthanasia. We rescued her just in time and treated her for heartworms. Now healthy, safe, and settled into her foster home, Charm is opening her heart to love again. She’s friendly with people, dogs, and even cats, and her calm, tender nature makes her a quiet joy to be around. She’s also polite and undemanding—simply grateful for a soft spot to lay her head and some gentle companionship. Third Time’s The Charm is fostered in Long Island City, NY, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her. Side Pony’s story starts with heartbreak, but it’s quickly becoming one of hope. She was pulled just in time from an overcrowded North Carolina shelter, where she was facing euthanasia after being surrendered for not living up to someone else’s expectations. Labeled a “lousy hunting dog,” Side Pony simply wasn’t meant for the field. She was meant for a couch, a family, and a life filled with kindness. True to her gentle nature, Side Pony is meek, sweet, and incredibly affectionate with people. She gets along nicely with other dogs and even cats, making her an easy fit for a multi-pet home. She is especially fond of her foster cat sibling these days, waiting by the stairs every morning for him to come down and snuggle with her. Like most hounds, she loves long, leisurely walks where she can sniff every interesting scent along the way. And in true Side Pony fashion, she’s so easygoing that she’ll happily let you dress her up for any occasion. Side Pony is fostered in Abington, MA, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her. We have had Red for four years. We adopted him from Central Square and we found out that night he had a dislocated hip. After $6000 in surgery and physical therapy he is living his best! He loves other people and animals. The main reason for removing is our family loves Red so much that we want him to have a home and family that can support his hound dog needs. Red loves running through trails and fields and following scents. He's great with babies and other pets.

He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush through life—he notices everything, appreciates the little things, and reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Kahlua has impeccable manners. Need to tie your shoe? He’ll stop and wait. Collar slips off? He’ll walk right over so you can fix it. He listens beautifully and truly wants to please his person. He also has a fun side—he loves squeaky toys, playing fetch (sharing the ball is a work in progress!), giving kisses, and being tucked in under cozy blankets like the pampered hound he is. This boy is also a lake and boat enthusiast—a true water bug who will happily join you for every lakeside adventure.
