Story
Sterling is a family oriented Weimaraner. She enjoys being outside and always within sight of us or our kids. She is quite fond of toddler messy eating habits and is very good at cleaning the floor. She requires a good pet/ head rub at least once a day and is good at delicately nudging a hand to communicate that she is ready for one. She is starting to lose her hearing at 8.5 years, so she sleeps harder now. She was born in August of 2015. We picked her up from a family who bred 4 litters a year from two dames, SW of Ft. Worth. Both her parents lived on that farm. We originally wanted her for companionship with our other Weimaraner, but then he died within 2 years of having her. She is amazing with our kids, she has never growled or made any sign of aggression/ annoyance with them. She does forget her size sometimes and likes to be in the middle of it all. She is crate trained, but hates the crate. We have started leaving her out to roam the house when our family is not home.

Story
Vader is a sweet, chill dog who needs tender, loving care. This gentle boy, unfortunately, came from a cruelty case where he was left in an apartment for several days. Despite struggling through a rough patch in his life, and being in shelter care for 5 months, he still kept his manners. Favorably, Mister Vader comprehends many commands--including Paw, Sit, Stay, Lay Down, and how to get into his kennel! Such a smart pup! He loves his treats, does anything to get one, and is not aggressive with his food. Keeping Vader clean is easy. Just be sure he is comfortable and calm and he will love it! This boy is also 7 years young!

Vader loves to play ball and with his other toys, so having a fun game of fetch is an excellent way to entertain the pupper! While he likes to meet other dogs, Vader often likes to mind his own business; even pulling a bit on the leash to get an in-depth whiff of his surroundings. Vader is curious! Though very sweet with children, he gets too excited at first meeting them and may scare some little ones with Zoomies. If you take Vader home, he would love you endlessly, sneaking in an extra long cuddle for good measure; if he's feeling extra lovey, he's willing for a hug too! This sweet boy needs any kind of love you can give.

Story
Hi my name is Duke, and I am searching for my forever family who I can spend the rest of my life with. I am currently in boarding in Houston, which is ok, they do walk me, feed me and play with me but I really want a warm house to live in. I have lived in a home before, so I do know that houses have rules.  I find myself here in boarding because I was having too much fun with the rabbits and cats in my last home. I am a 9 year old weimaraner though can you blame me? I am a happy strong boy and I am looking for a foster or adopter who will provide boundaries, structure, and consistency.  I am food motivated and do know how to sit, shake and lie down. I would love to learn a few new tricks too! I also would love a home where I can work on my leash walking and get some help in  redirecting my prey drive. I do like some dogs, especially the ones that are my size. And I do like kids too, especially the ones that are bigger than me. I am about 80 pounds. I know a couple of great trainers who will work with me and my new family members to make the transition into my new home as smooth as possible!  Are you out there my new potential family? I hope so, I hope you are reading this now, and put your application in now, or contact your Foster or Adoption Coordinator, so they can schedule a time for you to come meet me!!   ##1481663##

Story
Hi, my name is Luca! I’m a 5-year-old, 79-pound, gray male. I’m a sweet and energetic Weim. I have been fostered in a house with older children/teenagers and another Weim who has become my best buddy. My foster brother and I love to play and wrestle with one another. I enjoy chasing balls (though I’m still working on bringing them back to my foster parents when I’m done); I enjoy chewing on dog toys and blankets but am not destructive. I will lay on my dog bed with a toy or chew and entertain myself. I am a great house dog; I love to be near my people and fit the definition of “Velcro dog.” I love to come up to people for a pat and scratch behind the ears. When my favorite people come home from a long day at school or work, I sometimes gently jump up to hug them. My foster parents have been teaching me to sit and stay when I greet people. I do bark when I see people or dogs out the window. I would love to cuddle up next to my owners while they watch TV or read if I’m allowed on the furniture. I’m well behaved in the house; although I was crate trained in my former home, my current foster parents leave me unattended for up to 4 hours in the house with my foster brother, with no issues. But do not leave food out unattended on the counter even if you are home as I have the common Weim trait of counter surfing if there is food left out! I am housetrained and figured out the dog door the day I got to my foster home. I am very smart and know some commands; I’m excellent at “sit” and “stay”; and I also know some commands in Spanish such as “aqui” (here). My foster parents have been working on teaching me “heel” and “leave it.” I’m eager to learn more. I am not an escape artist if I have an outlet for my energy. I get very excited when it’s time to go on walks and be outside, but sometimes I react to other dogs when I’m on the leash, particularly big dogs and dogs that are barking at me from behind their fence. My foster parents have been working on training me to sit and stay and receive treats when I see other dogs and people out walking. I have been working hard on this and am improving, but I will benefit from continued training. I would love life at a home where I had a big yard or property to run around in. My foster parents are not sure about my prey drive as I haven’t been around cats or small animals. My foster parents feed me separately from my foster brother, as my foster brother doesn’t like to share food. I am being fostered in the San Antonio area and looking for my forever home.   ##1883090##

Story
Buddy is a 11-month-old, 52-pound, blue Weim mix puppy with a natural tail.  He came to WRT stray from the shelter and was initially underweight.  While he's a little slow to warm up initially, he's incredibly sweet, loves to cuddle, has good leash skills and has a calm demeanor.  He doesn't bark or jump up when meeting new people and has done well at social gatherings outside the home. He would do well with another dog in his new home, and seems to prefer females. He is being fostered in the San Antonio area.  So come meet Buddy! ##1826128##
